  • Jeep Patriot 2008 Manual Transmission: Junk

Written by: canadalaw on Apr 26, 2011 9:55:15 PM

The Jeep Patriot is a useless piece of metal garbage. I bought a new one (2008) from a British Columbia dealership (Canada) in Vancouver and had nothing but chronic problems with the arrogance and ineptitude of the dealership and this stressful hunk of junk. We had it warranty fixed five times with various manual transmission gear chronic problems that were defective, lost confidence in the safety and reliabilty of the lame ... Read More

Bought our Patriot end of Oct/2007. We endured an exceptionally hard winter in Colorado 2007/2008. I am very happy to report our Jeep Patriot 4x4 Trail-Rated (w/CVT) proved exceptionally stable and stout in many trips up and down and over the Continental Divide, even over rugged Hoosier Pass (Breckenridge-to-SouthPark) about 11,00-ft elevation, above tree line.. Patriot muscled right over in the worst possilbe conditions - extremely heavy winds, blowing/drifting snow, low ... Read More

Hi yuren. Generally, the terms rebate and consumer cash allowance are synonyms. In July, Chrysler was providing anywhere from $750 to $2,000 consumer cash on the 2008 Jeep Patriot. The exact amount varied by region. This incentive is compatible with Chrysler's college grad cash. I have not seen what its new August incentives are yet. I suspect that Chrysler will announce them later on today. Car_man Host Prices Paid: Buying & ... Read More

Here you go, 80srockgod. The numbers for an otherwise identical 36 month lease are .00161 and 52%. Car_man Host Prices Paid: Buying & Leasing Experiences Forum

As far as I know, there is $2750 in dealer cash on 2007 Patriots. 2008 models have $500 custer rebate plus $2000 VIN-specific (I think the VIN specific is a farce and all 2008 Patriots get the $2k). rebate. So, theoretically, there is only $250 more on the table for 2007 models. Now, a dealer might be willing to sell a 2007 model for less, maybe $500 or $1000 less than ... Read More

A couple points: No one calls salespeople for service work. After the purchase, the salesperson is rarely involved. Invoice price is not what a dealer pays for a vehicle.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what has a chance for a better deal between a leftover (new) 2007 or a 2008 Patriot (both comparably equipped)? I am seeking the lowest possible price. Should I be able to do better on the 2007? And is below invoice a reasonable price? I may have a chance for a Friend/Family Employee Code, would that help for either? Thanks!

It's also been announced that Jeep is addressing the perceived low-rent interior of the Patriot in 2009 with a revamped interior. I don't know how much better it will be, but you could use that info as a bargaining chip on a 2008. You can also get some good deals on remaining 2007 models, but choices are limited (and often Limiteds!), and there's the whole stigma of buying a first-year vehicle. ... Read More

  • 2008 Jeep Patriot Water Fording capabilities

Written by: ikastun on Sep 29, 2007 3:10:16 PM

Hello, I'd like to know the water fording capabilities of the 2008 Jeep Patriot 4x2? I'm not planning to take this vehicle to the outdoors, it's just that when it rains heavily on my home town, you have to cross several flooded avenues on your way home. I've read that the 4x4 model with the additional off-road package provides and extra inch of ground clearance (from 8" to 9") and a ... Read More
