I just bought a new 2004 XG350L and thought I would share my experiences since I find these forums tremendously helpful when it comes to making decisions on buying what is for most of us a very big ticket purchase. First of all, I became interested in Hyundais because of their value (and warranty). We bought a 2003 Sonata LX for my wife primarily because it had everything standard for ... Read More
My 2001 XG300 has been at the Hyundai dealer for the last fifteen days. I took it in for the following problems: the engine had begun making a clattering noise on acceleration, the throttle valve body needed cleaning, and I was still having the transmission "shuddering" that has been discussed on this board in the past. I had had the TCM re-flashed per a technical service bulletin some months ago, with ... Read More
Just came back from the Intl Auto Show in LAS. The XC350 seemed to be attracting more attention than any of the other Hyundai models displayed. It was, of course, a 2002, not a 2003. Their literature depicts the 2004 model, so we know there won't be a 2003. However, except for changes to the lower grill, the car looks just the same as the 2002. Maybe there won't be a ... Where is the 2003 XG350? All of Hyundai's other models are out for 2003, why not the XG350? I have heard that they plan to come out with an all new XG in the spring and it will be a 2004. There was no Tib for 2002 so maybe there will not be an XG for 2003.
Apparently all XG350s before model year 2003 do not have lighted window switches; I will confirm that today. Leaving out lighted window switches until now is a real goof. Hyundai dealers should currently have a single page, two sided brochure describing the changes on the 2003 model. There is a photo of the 2003 dashboard on this sheet which can be easily compared to that of the 2002 XG350 to see ... Read More
Just came from a Hyundai dealer event. The 2003 XG350 will be on the market for probably around six months. It will have a few changes such as a new instrument cluster, improved digital display readouts and even lit power window switches (something my 94 Ford has!). However, the big news is the car will be redesigned for 2004. If you don't lease your XG350, you will want to wait for ... Read More
Does anyone know what major changes are being made for 2003? My wife is in the market for a new car and as happy as we have been with my 2001 Elantra GLS we have decided to go with another Hyundai. I just can't justify spending more money when you can get an XG350L.
Someone on the "Hyundai is the greatest..." thread posted a German web site showing pictures of new large sedans coming up from Hyundai and Kia. The Hyundai was called the new 2003 XG350. Will the XG be new for next year? One year for the XG300 followed by one year of XG350 then a new sedan? That seems a little too soon for a new model to me.
While I can't say what changes will actually make it over to the North American market, the new Korean market XG350 has a number of small improvements. A navigation system is available on the car, but I remember a Hyundai executive just recently saying that, given Hyundai's price point in the US and its customer base, the company didn't feel that offering telematics systems was a high priority. Hence, I wouldn't ... Read More
When I was at my dealer for an oil change last week the service manager told me that there has been talk of Hyundai offering a "touring" option in the XG350 for 2003. The package would have stiffer springs, shocks and 17" wheels. Has anyone else heard about this? My wife and I are thinking of buying a 2003 XG350 and this option would just about cement the deal. With a ... Read More
According to Korean Newspaper, there going to be Model Change(again!!) in the XG350. It's going to be full model change. Hyundai going to release it in Korea sometime September 2002. I think Hyundai's going to release it in here sometime mid 2003 as 2004 model (like 2003 Tiburon)
