2008 Honda CR-V EX-L 4dr SUV AWD (2.4L 4cyl 5A)
- Review
-
I love my CR-V. I own a 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe but was looking for a smaller SUV with better gas mileage. After much research I narrowed my choices down to a Honda CR-V and a Saturn Vue. I really wanted to Hybrid Saturn Vue, but after discovering that they were few and far between and that Saturn was having problems with the hybrid battery, I chose the Honda CR-V. Needless to say, I am VERY happy I chose my Honda CR-V EX-L. My wife has had both a Honda Civic and two Accords, and I purchased a 2000 Honda CR-V for my daughter as a college graduation present, but this is my first Honda. I love the styling, ride, comfort and all of the extras that make the CR-V EX-L a "poor man's luxury SUV"
- Favorite Features
-
I love both the interior and exterior design, fun to drive and rides fantastic, outstanding safety features and rating, great audio system (XM radio and 6 CD changer), a good amount of storage for small SUV, good MPG (22+, 60/40 city/highway) so far, can't wait for first real road trip.
- Suggested Improvements
-
Auto on/off headlights, fold flat rear seats.

2008 Honda CR-V LX 4dr SUV (2.4L 4cyl 5A)
- Review
-
I traded in my 06 civic for the 08 CR-V. I am not thrilled with the city gas mileage. Highway is averaging around 28. I thought I would get around 30 overall! It does not have any get up and go like my civic had. The arm rests are too short and uncomfortable. There is not enough storage space that is useful, no place to put CD,s. The seats are kinda hard and not comfortable on the back. My daughter had rhinestones on her jeans and it left some snags in the seat material. That made me very upset. I have to admit I like the room in it, the overall style and it does ride well. It is fun to drive, just not the most comfortable. I wish they would have offered the Navi system in LX
- Favorite Features
-
Roomy interior, stylish looking exterior.
- Suggested Improvements
-
Redesign the arm rests please! Make the center console in the lx useful, need a place for CD storage. Make the seat material snag proof. Give some lumbar support in the driver seat.

2008 Honda CR-V EX-L 4dr SUV AWD (2.4L 4cyl 5A)
- Review

My wife chose this over my preference for a CX-7 and no regrets. Well-built, roomy, drives well and nicely designed and finished interior. Wasn't sure about the looks, but they grow on you. V6 option would be nice.
- Favorite Features
-
Heated leather, dash layout, space
- Suggested Improvements
-
Why so basic compared to Euro models - top model has no fog lights, mirror indicators or parking sensors - why? Up the trim, add a V6 and this would be a real winner.

2008 Honda CR-V EX-L 4dr SUV AWD w/Navigation (2.4L 4cyl 5A)
- Review
-
Just love my CR-V. This is number two. Had 2000 and gave to daughter . (she wanted to "buy it" because it was my 8- yr old car. She knew it never missed an oil change and was not in Katrina). This one has more "suave style". Other was what I called a "kicky little thing". Fun to drive. This one does not handle quite as easily (me?). Is a bit bigger and still feels different. I did have the other one 8nyears. Does do ok though. 28+ gas mileage. Bought in mid Jan '08 have 3500 miles now with a 750 mile trip in there. I do combo suburban - city drive to work.
- Favorite Features
-
Nav and controls for radio on steering wheel. Color: (tango red). Love the way the "boot"/ cargo area has been re- designed. Can hide lap top-shopping bags or luggage. Like having a trunk.
- Suggested Improvements
-
Front seat storage & "reach-ability". Am 4' 10" female. Cannot reach the glove comp from drivers seat! Cell-phone charger inconvenient to access. Need convenient place to put change for interstate tolls and parking fees. Front seat console needs female redesign. We know where things should go.

2008 Honda CR-V EX-L 4dr SUV AWD (2.4L 4cyl 5A)
- Review
-
When the CR-V got redesigned in 2007, I wanted it. I finally got rid of my 12 yr. old gas guzzling V-8 Jeep and got my beautiful Glacier Blue 2008 CR-V EXL. I thought about a RAV4 but loved the fact that the EXL had everything I wanted standard (leather heated seats, moon roof) and the tire was not on the back. The back gate lifts up with one finger and there is plenty of room to haul things. I can't rave about the gas mileage in town because I drive in stop and go traffic to work, but on the highway I have gotten over 20+ miles per gallon. The stereo is amazing with the subwoofer and 6 CD changer--you can really blast your favorite music! The windshield wipers are so big and powerful.
- Favorite Features
-
Gorgeous sleek design, soft blue lighted instrument panel, heated seats, 6 CD changer, roomy back seat area. I just love looking at my gorgeous blue car!
- Suggested Improvements
-
Compass, cushier front seats.

2008 Honda CR-V LX 4dr SUV (2.4L 4cyl 5A)
- Review
-
This car has a fun to drive factor, especially around town and doing errands. After looking at costs/benefits, we went with a two wheel drive base vehicle given the standard traction control, and it performed very well in winter (replaced an AWD VW 4 motion vehicle, and the CR-V drives as well in snow). We replaced the ugly wheels for lighter alloys at tire store for $600). Gas mileage (spring) is currently around 33 mpg highway (63 - 65 mph) and a bit better on secondary roads with few stops (34 mpg) - in Michigan driving environment and conservative acceleration. We were getting a little worse mpg in winter, 30 +- mpg hwy range once engine warmed up on longer trips. Overall 27 mpg.
- Favorite Features
-
Great gas mileage for size, good size family / outdoor vehicle, good performance (handling is nimble and quick), nice style, pretty good cd and mp3 music quality for base model, radio sound quality is only ok.
- Suggested Improvements
-
The entire CR-V line up could use better seats and radio quality. Any chance to have rear hatch lift to a lower height for lower garages - the new VW wagon has an adjustment which controls how high the rear lift will raise -- Great idea.

2008 Honda CR-V EX-L 4dr SUV AWD (2.4L 4cyl 5A)
- Review

This is my 3rd Honda, my Civic was almost perfect after 11 yrs.and I only got rid of it because it was getting hard to get in & out because it's low and I have a bad knee. CR-V has now joined our 2006 Saturn Vue in the garage. Tested the Tucson (zippy ride, ugly interior), Rav-4 (didn't like the wheel on the back & a few other things) wanted another Vue but the gas mileage is terrible on the new model, and then once I got in the CR-V, I was sold. For anyone with a purse, the gear shifter on the dash allows for a perfect spot on the floor in front. It rides like a car, is fun to drive, feels solid, has a beautiful paint job (the white is gorgeous) and is very comfortable. Hope to have it for years.
- Favorite Features
-
Shifter on dash, comfortable seats, roomy interior, fantastic paint job, nice ride, comfy back seat, great cargo area, fun to drive, in-dash 6 cd changer, great sound system, safety features.
- Suggested Improvements
-
Fog lamps, front mud flaps, auto mirror and compass should be included for the price of the EX-L.

2008 Honda CR-V EX 4dr SUV (2.4L 4cyl 5A)
- Review
-
Less than 1,000 miles on the OD. Combines SUV-like utility with car-like fuel economy and driveability. Honda's legendary engines also a selling point. Exterior -- modern appearance, tough- looking from the back, slightly "cute" from the front. Interior is comfortable but very upright compared to a sedan. To keep price reasonable, EX model provides a tasteful selection of options but the laundry list of amenities and higher price of a full- fledged luxury car. Auto-dim, power- fold mirrors, and dual-climate only come on EX-L. Sound system is superb even without the subwoofer. Has to do with cabin design and speaker placement. Better than my prior expensive aftermarket system.
- Favorite Features
-
Sleek posterior appearance, very light and nimble driving characteristics. Has good utility but better aesthetics than the pug-nosed Element. Fuel economy is excellent, especially compared to full-size SUVs. Outstanding sound system!
- Suggested Improvements
-
Would prefer a traditional, sturdy center-console armrest over the dainty, minivan-like fold-down arms. Want drawer under driver seat, not just passenger seat. Shift to more gender- neutral marketing -- car deserves a stronger "active male" following.

2008 Honda CR-V EX-L 4dr SUV (2.4L 4cyl 5A)
- Review

I've had my CR-V for 3 weeks and love it! This is my first Honda after having Mercury Mountaineers for the last 12 years. The CR-V has lots of room, is fun to drive, and the gas mileage is so much better then what I was getting. It's been on 2 long trips and averaged 30 mpg; around town is averaging 24-25. The 4 cylinder is surprisingly peppy! It had no problems merging onto the interstates and passing trucks. In fact, hubby was going 80 at various times and it seemed like we weren't going that fast! This is a great car and would recommend it!
- Favorite Features
-
Sliding back seats, mp3 plug-in,
- Suggested Improvements
-
lighted vanity mirrors, automatic lights, memory seats, electric seat adjustment on passenger side, V6

2008 Honda CR-V EX-L 4dr SUV AWD (2.4L 4cyl 5A)
- Review

I have driven Subarus for twenty years. I've owned six of them. I was about to trade in my '98 Legacy Outback Limited for an '08. But then I hesitated and decided to enjoy the shopping process since I was going to be buying a new car. I looked at the Nissan briefly and then on to the Honda store. There I took a brief drive in the demo. That did it. That night I decided to give up my Subaru loyalty (they're great cars) and buy a Honda. I got the EX-L because I wanted the heated seats and leather upholstery. I had the store add the rain deflectors. This past weekend I took a 500-mile round trip to Maine and back. I got 29.4 mpg. I had a good experience in the trading process.
- Favorite Features
-
I just love the 6-CD player and the xm radio. Did I mention the heated seats? I'm still learning the bells and whistles. This has a little engine that can really go.
- Suggested Improvements
-
I think the company ought to provide the retractable cargo cover as standard equipment.
