Just picked up a used 2003 f150. The previous owner mentioned that the cigarrette lighter was not working and it may be due to a blown fuse. Low sulfur diesel fuel in the United States will be mandatory in mid-2006. Europe made low sulfur mandatory in 2003 and half the new cars sold there are diesel. Can't Ford take this as a omen for things to come? I love the new F-150. But I can't get myself to get a truck that gets 14mpg while it could get 28mpg with a diesel.

include everything from a regular cab 2003 handshaker to the f-650/750 super crewzer. f150 retail sales by itself are usually about 45% of the total. i cant say for ford as a whole, but we have sold more f250s and f350s in the last few months than any other time in the past.

I bought my first new pickup truck in 17 years, and the first American made vehicle in 10 years, and I am sad to say I have been disappointed. The F-150 has had horrendous vibration problems that others all talk about but Ford refuses to admit to. I am starting to see screamer ads for high 19's- low 20's for 2003 XLT 150 SCrews, depending on rebates and whether or not you finance through Ford. My question is...... If the 2002/2003 USED models (Screw XlT 4x2 less than 25k miles) are normally advertised for 20k, will they now be advertised (or sold) for less?

Saw 'em sitting out front
Driving on the interstate today, I saw the local high volume Ford dealer had six (6) 2004 F-150s sitting out front. But he still has about 600 2003 F-150s sitting in his back lot to move. Have to check them out on way to work before salesmen get there (6:15 am).

Bumpy ride + towing question on the F150 SC
3 weeks ago, I bought a 2003 F150 Supercrew. The ride turned out to be very bumpy from 20-45, but the dealer/tire co said that everything is fine. Personally, I think General tires are horrible. In Automobile Magazine May 2002 issue, page 16. It mentioned that Ford has pushed back the introduction of the next generation F-150 pickup from fall 2002 to early summer 2003, making it a 2004 model. It also reported that the powerplants will be carried over. Other than that, not much else is given.
