The Cavalier That Could

2003 Chevrolet Cavalier 2dr Coupe (2.2L 4cyl 5M)

I bought my cavalier on 4/28/10 w/ 85,xxx miles on it. Was prior salvage. I bought it for $4k. Initially, I was very concerned it would break down or something, or if it was just going to die on my way back home. But I fell in love with this car. Not one problem out of it, and I drove it till it had 100,000miles on it. Had two things go bad: A ratchet thing on my muffler that had fallen off from going down my gf's bumpy driveway($25) & tires. Now, it was in a wreck 4 days ago from me hitting a deer. Just want to say, the seatbelt and airbags saved my life. It's a very well built car. And I went to the salvage yard to look at my car, as soon as I put the key in, it started right up. Reliable

Best Features

Very reliable, never a problem with it starting up, or the AC working, or anything mechanical or electrical. The gas mileage was amazing, I got around 32mpg on the highway, around 21 in town. I loved the stereo! It was very loud and very clear, the bass was absolutely awesome for being a stock stereo. This is a very safe car, I hit a huge 8-point buck head on with it, I came out of the car without a scratch, and the car took it pretty well, with only damaging the front end and windshield. I started the motor up at the salvage yard where it was towed, and it started right up with absolutely no problem. That really speaks a lot about Chevy and the cavalier.

Worst Features

I would make the headlights tilt up towards the road, and not tilted down. And more leg room while driving. I am 6 feet tall, and driving for 3 hours in the little red car starts to hurt. But that could be any little car.

I am considering purchasing a used 2203 Chevy Cavaliar with 87 thousand on it and he is asking 38,000 or best offer for my teenage daughter since my son bought one from a private owner and has had no problems. I am just hoping this car will be as good to us as my sons!
