Used 2010 Volkswagen Jetta Diesel Consumer Reviews
rewarding vehicle
Over 600 miles in the first two weeks of ownership. Great car. Easy to enter and exit.Handles well, comfortable, great visibility, performance and economy.Got 42.5 mpg on the first tank. 600 plus miles per tank easy to obtain.Great trunk space. We got the black with cornsilk interior, sunroof, dsg tran,17 inch wheels, southern package, ipod adapter. I have owned at leats 40 cars and this is a good one. It rivals the several mercedes I have owned in the past.I also have a 2008 Accord v6 and a 05 Tahoe. Great combination of vehicles. If you are considering a Honda or a VW..go with the TDI. It makes the vehicle.
great car w/poor reliability
After 3000 miles on my tdi sedan (diesel) I'm delighted w/this small car. Others have said the positive car qualities well, but also like others, I'm unhappy with poor reliability. My car next week goes back to the dealership to fix leaking exhaust, twice, and now must replace 2 oxygen sensors. Both problems say my car won't pass my state's rules. VW dealerships (2) have tried hard to help. I'm very frustrated, of course.
Fun!
Great car, excellent acceleration, a bit jerky with slow speed braking, but overall a great car. Fit and finish are excellent. Very comfortable.
Exceeding Expectations
Just bought my TDI Sportwagen last week. And even though it is still in the break-in period, it is getting great gas mileage. My commute is 50/50 city/hwy and I am averaging 39mpg. The interior is comfortable and well laid out. The touch screen radio and steering wheel controls make everything easy and keep my eyes on the road. Seats are firm and comfortable. Cargo area is roomy for a small car.
The Real Deal
Had the car for two weeks and put just over 1,500 miles on it. Snow in NE kept it in the garage a few days. Had one small glitch with sensor in the exhaust system, which was fixed right and on time. Since then she's been perfect. Ride is firm but supple. Seats are super supportive, great on long drives. Steering is fantastic. Engine and trans are THE BEST. Very torquey diesel and DSG really suits it well, a great combo. The negatives: heat in a diesel is a long wait; heated seats make up for that. Control knobs for heater are smooth/slippery to the touch. The pillar between front/rear window is huge. Takes some moving about to see around them. All in all a great long range cruiser!
