Worst car ever driven.....
I fell in love with this car from the moment I laid eyes on it, how ever the moment my warranty expired my nightmares began. Luckily, some of the problems started when I still had warranty. Since I bought me car, I had to replace the septic system, I had electric system problem where my sunroof didn't open and my radio did not turn on. Now I'm having intermittent problems with my gas cap not opening. I looked to see if there is a manual release, but unable to locate. I'm driven a Mazda, Toyota, and a Honda, I have never seen so many problems on a car under 35,000 miles.
Fuel Pump Failure
DO NOT BUY THIS CAR!! At 30,000 miles the fuel pump failed and VW is trying to pin it on me, even though this is a common problem. They asked me to show them my last 5 fuel reciepts. I don't save fuel reciepts, not many people do. The seats are not comfortable, my back hurts after riding in this car for a half hour. If they solve the fuel pump issue I'll either replace the driver seat, or have it redone by an upholstery shop.

This is a risky car to own.
I just sold my 09 TDI Jetta today. I will miss it, it was SO much fun to drive on the high-way. Fuel pumps (HPFP) are failing in this model, repair can cost $8 - $10K. VW is being very wissy-washy about covering what appears to be a growing issue. To much risk for me, good luck if you decide to buy.
Definitely worth every penny
This car definitely has a very solid feel to it, especially when compared to other brands. We found the rear legroom to be plenty for people under 6'. The downside is the 2.5L feels boring, heavy and slow, plus it's mileage isn't that great in the city. Wish they would've kept the 2.0T, but they wanted better reliability, so 2.5L it is. Interior is typical VW quality, although it's a little drab especially if you have the black interior. The quality of the V-Tex is very good, but it makes the front seats are a little too firm. Trunk is huge huge huge. Lots of features not found in other cars of it's class, such as heated seats, heated mirrors, etc. Haven't had any reliability issues so far..
Wolfsburg 2.0T automatic
This is my third Jetta. The first one was a 2003 1.8T w/ 180 HP which then traded for 2005.5 150 HP 2.5 L in which i drove 54,000+miles, a perfectly reliable car with the exception of burned out brake light when it was about 1 year old and a recent burned headlight. So overall, i'd say that this new Wolfsburg is the best overall. It has huge amount of power. I love the way the engine sounds in the freeway when I'm speeding up a bit. I got the red Salsa and it's great. Although i do miss a few features that the previous model but it's okay. As far as fuel efficiency, it's not that great especially during aggressive driving and driving up the hill. But it's better than driving an SUV.
