Most reviewers would agree with Edmunds’ assessment. This car is very stylish both inside and out and I completely agree that this holdover interior is better than the newer dual touchscreen setup in current C series Audis. The RS5 is not as edgy as the comparable models from BMW M division and former AMG models ( can’t speak to the new 4 cylinder with hybrid assist). but it is much more … comfortable for everyday driving and longer distances. My wife is delighted to be using this car as a daily driver. It will still knock you back in the seat when you want it to and when equipped with great tires, such as Pilot 4S Sport Michelins, grip the twisties. In my very subjective opinion it is also better looking than the competitors. I own the 2021 B9.5 version (Nardo Gray with black optics). which is almost unchanged in appearance and it gets lots of attention.
If bragging rights and statistics matter to you more than usability, go for the other Germans, or even better, if you can afford it, the real sports car, the German Audi sibling not mentioned (the 911 one). But if you want a beautifully crafted, stylish versatile car that has a great balance between fun and usability, this is actually the car many reviewers said they would still prefer to own and this is why I happily bought one.
Two year update: This car has held up very well. No major issues. One rattle from a loose connectiont to a vent on the dash board was easily located and fixed (under warranty). Steel brakes have held up well and despite over 20 spirited rally drives in the mountains north of Atlanta, including almost a dozen runs on the Tail of the Dragon, still are the original set. By now I have a real feel for the car which has enhanced the enjoyment. Still get lots of praise for what a good looking car this is.
