Well satisfied - It is what it says it is
The Tacoma is great at what it purports to do. It is a mid-sized pickup truck. It is a Toyota - which means it lags the competition in refinement, but it is built to do it's job, do it well enough, and last. It drives reasonably well, gets reasonable gas mileage, has a reasonable number of safety and convenience features. It also fits inside my regular sized garage. It is not a luxury vehicle with a plush ride. It is not a full size heavy duty pickup with acres of hip and leg room, that can tow your house or gigantic RV. It is not the ultimate at anything. It is just great at what it purports to do.
Junk
Worse vehicle I've ever purchased the transmission is all over the place. My 36 year old camaro shifts better then this turd. The gas mileage is horrible and the engine is noisy. The v6 engine sucks can't get out of its on way. The interior looks cheap. I wouldn't recommend the pos to anyone.

I love my 2021 TRD PRO
I will be turning 72 next month, traded the 2018 MB GLC300 for my Taco, could not be happier. Now done 1,000 miles in the 1st month of ownership, no issues, great truck. Everything just work as expected. And it looks very good in the garage next to my 2014 FJ Cruiser. 05/20/2021. I took my PRO for its 1st service today. 4,000 miles. I have had NO issues and/or complaints to date. Was in and out at the dealer in 1 hour. This truck is a gem, everything functions as per the manual and as expected. No gear hunting, squeaks or rattles what-so-ever. Good sound system, ample power, average fuel consumption just under 20mpg (truck is fitted with the aggressive GY Duratracs).

Disaster
While the truck is comfortable to drive and responsive , it fails miserably in the most important categories. The engine is a gas guzzler and lacks power. It’s completely mismatched to the transmission. The cruise control is unusable and is constantly shifting up on down on the slightest grade. The fuel tank is ridiculously small considering the fuel consumption( 13 liters per 100 k), which is more the my Colorado was ( 8.7 liters per 100 k, highway). The instrument panel lacks information and configure ability. The entertainment system is way more complicated then necessary, I would say dangerously so! Also the maintenance schedule is designed to suck out every additional dollar you have. I had a 85 Toyota for 25 years and loved it, I bought this truck a few months ago and I’m already in negotiations for a new Colorado.
