Why won't Toyota listen?
I have a 2010 Prius with over 100,000 miles on it. In general, I love the car - no serious complaints. However, I had two complaints which I relayed to Toyota in 2010. Neither has been rectified 1. MINOR COMPLAINT: The Sirius-XM radio displays 16 characters of the title and artist. There is room for 40 characters. Why won't they expand this? 2. MAJOR COMPLAINT: When a truck goes backwards, it beeps outside to warn anybody in the driver's blind spot to be careful. When you put a Toyota in reverse, it beeps on the inside telling the driver That Toyota thinks he's too stupid to realize he's in reverse. This is both annoying and insulting. NEITHER OF THESE ITEMS HAS BEEN CORRECTED BY TOYOTA AS OF 2019. THEY SIMPLY DO NOT CARE. When I relayed these complaints to Toyota (home American office) I was told that I was not the first person with these complaints (especially number 2). I just bought a new car and test drove the Toyota Camry (with same problems as the Prius) and the Honda Accord. I liked them both about the same, but saw that Toyota did not care about these complaints, and was told by the Toyota salesman that I was right - Toyota thought that its drivers were too dumb to realize they were in reverse. I bought the Accord.

All around too good
I got this car with 88K miles a year and a half ago and now have 100K miles. No issues whatsoever. Just great car with great gas mileage. I get 45mpg in the summer and 38mpg in the dead of winter. This is definitely not a fix it yourself kinda vehicle which is sorta a con for me. First of all there is absolutely no working room under the hood. Its extremely compact I get claustrophobic just looking around. Second the hybrid system is of course full of unique electrical parts and highly technical work. somewhat dangerous as well. If it ever has problems I will be completely at the mercy of the dealer and I'm sure they will gauge me all the way to the bank. But again, so far no problems.

Deerly safe!
Well, my brakes just had to be replaced for the first time at 135,000 miles. Pretty good I'd say. My V (5) model has larger rims and low profile tires. It rides more harshly, but handles better than the lower models. I've been very happy except for having to replace both electronic keys totaling over $500. I hit a deer at 65 mph on the interstate and the slanted front acted like a ramp tossing the deer up and over, keeping the car from being totaled. The truck behind me caught it square in the nose though and it had to be towed.

Finally a Prius that's for normal people
The 2010 Prius is a big upgrade over the 2009. The engine has more power and runs quieter. I thought the 2009 was okay, but this one was worth buying. The seats feel good, the dash is laid out nicely, and I love the amount of interior space. Fold the rear seats down and you can carry a ladder or a load from Costco. The dash and navigation tend to show finger prints. Not sure why the leather Prius units have the heated seats button so low. I cannot see spending the money on the AT package found on the Prius 5. Park assist seems cool, but works about half the time. I like the rims of the Prius 5, but if I would leave the AT package off it. Prius III or II works fine in my opinion.
Prius for the big guy
I am 6' 6" tall ans was concerned about how this machine would fit - before I bought it. Not anymore. This car is fun to drive and is quite comfortable. I improved my mileage 2 1/2 times from the SUV I previously drove. This is a fine car.
