I like it !

With 3600 miles on the vehicle, and about 6 weeks of ownership, my experience so far has been great. Gas mileage overall is 27.8 mpg, combined highway and city, and still increasing. Acceleration is strong, lots of torque, which surprises passengers and other drivers. This vehicle GOES. It's quiet, sure-footed, maneuverable, although some torque steer under heavy acceleration. The CVT transmission is always in the "right" gear, which is great for mountain driving. Regenerative braking limits brake heating and wear coming down long hills. Getting into the third row seats does require some agility. Retractable headrests help driver's vision out the rear.

I love everything about this SUV. The fuel economy, the quiet smooth ride, the seating capacity, the quality of build. The only thing I think Toyota is missing is a little better turning performance around turns. Other than that I LOVE this car.

Highlander Hybrid

2006 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited 4dr SUV AWD (3.3L 6cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)

This SUV provides a smooth yet powerful drive, even much to my surprise in the mountains of Colorado, which accounts for a least 50% of my driving. No problems whatsoever after over 11,000 miles of driving in all kinds of weather. The AWD seems better than any previous AWD vehicles I've own in the difficult winter weather driving conditions of Summit County Colorado.

We love our hybrid Highlander! We feel safe and very comfortable in it. The engines are very powerful. We can really turn on the power when we need to. Smart design, good storage, efficent, and we're averaging 23 mpg. I'd like a little more fuel efficiency but we're happy to support the hybrid technology. The car is very quiet, too.

It's a great car... nothing bad to say about it... wish it lived up to it's mileage claims a little better but it may be my fault for driving with a little bit of a lead foot too...l Ioved it in winter on ice and snow... it saved my life with it's nonslip feature at least twice this winter when the wheels just spun out and then the car shuddered and the darn thing righted itself and I didn't go into the ditch after all!!!
