Overhyped Car
I had the opportunity to experience driving this car for two weeks while renting it. I was impressed by the amount of space in the interior and the gas mileage, but otherwise disappointed by the safety features and the rate of acceleration at times. The car tries to drive itself, but that's extremely dangerous. I know this is not uncommon for newer vehicles today, but I really didn't appreciate when it would try to slow down for me whenever it "calculated" that I was going to collide with a vehicle ahead of me or hit an object. Even if I was already slowing down, it would still put on the brakes and, as a result, myself and my passengers would be pushed forward as if I had put my brakes on too hard. So basically translating into a less smooth ride almost every single time. I also did not enjoy the lane monitoring. On one occasion there were people walking on a road that had no sidewalk, and I tried to veer to the left to avoid hitting them once I saw them because it was dark and there were not many street lights. The vehicle actually attempted to put me back into the lane. That could have caused me to hit one of the pedestrians and possibly kill someone. Not sure how this translates into a safety, but vehicles definitely do not need to drive themselves because they are not aware of what's going on ALL around them. I couldn't turn the features off (if that's even possible) because of course, it was a rental. I just know that I will not be purchasing this vehicle for myself!

A fairly good overall car except for GPS
The car rides nice compared the 20012 Corolla LE . And handles well and great on gas.The only gripe is with the GPS that get confused while on the road here and there.
2024 Corolla SE Hybrid is worth the upgrade
I just acquired the 2024 Corolla SE FWD Hybrid over the LE Hybrid. A few thousand more dollars and slightly less mpg as the LE advertises but still more than all the other hybrids I shopped, over all makes, other than the Priuses (Prii?). The SE provides a Sports drive mode which erases the engine power shortcomings mentioned in the Edmunds article if that is a concern. Even though it lists a slightly lesser mog than the LE hybrid, OMG!, this thing cruises! I filled up my tank and drove 71 miles (conservatively, not in any hurry). My mpg rating was 62.3 mpg by the time I got where I was going and my gas gage hadn't moved a centimeter. The only drawbacks are that the seats adjusts manually not automatically (which could save your life), it is a small cabin though it has 5 seatbelts (the smaller size seems to give it better mpg than a Camry hybrid) and mine doesn't have a sunroof (dont know if other models do). There is a bery decent amount of trunk space and of course more when the back seats let down. The SE model was worth it for my style, but I don't see any unhappy drivers of the LE hybrid Corollas. That is until they see my SE hybrid pull up. Oh, and the safety features and the Adaptable Cruise Control are serious gamechangers for me. I love my new car.

Even brand new, this car was a step down for me!
I’ve had this car (purchased new) for a week now. My previous car was a 2010 Prius (Trim IV). I can’t say much about the engine and performance yet, but the lack of internal comforts is shocking: no back wipers. No double glove compartment. There is a small one and I have to unbuckle my seat belt to reach it. And I’m not tiny! No light in the glove compartment. No pockets behind the seats. The ones sold on Amazon assume you have children to entertain. I just want a place to put the sun shades and the map. No lights above the mirrors. No heated seats. Central console is TINY and placed beyond my elbow. I can’t rest my arm. Trunk (black) is poorly lit (the light gray interior was not available) and several inches below the seats when you fold them down. Trunk has NO hooks for securing cargo. There is no spare tire, no tools and no first aid kit. Just a tire inflation thingie. Floor mats are rubber, not carpet. No sunglasses holder. The seat folding buttons are near the center of the seats so you can’t fold them while standing outside the car.

Disappointed
I thought this would be an upgrade from a 2007 toyota corolla. I bought it sight unseen and since the purchase I've been disappointed. First there is next to zero storage in the vehicle. If you need to accelerate quickly, or climb a hill, prepare yourself for the noise of the engine. It is soooo loud and terrible sounding that it makes me think something is wrong. The brakes have been rough since I got it but I thought it would break in, unfortunately not, when I drive another vehicle I realized how rough mine are. I haven't driven it on I snowy roads but if it's as bad as it is on wet roads it has no chance. It seems that the AWD only kicks in after you start sliding. It also doesn't come with a donut, only a tire repair kit. I'm perpetually worried that I'll get a flat. The gas tank is also small so I have to fill up just as many times per week as I did before which is annoying. I commute far for work, but as soon as my commute is reduced I'll be trading it in.
