I’ve owned this car for 2 years and have had no mechanical or software issues. It’s very spacious and comfortable with soft supple vegan leather seats. It’s a rocket and has gotten me out of situations where I need extra acceleration.

My 2022 Tesla is gem of a car, some days. It has small rattles as it is not a Benz, Beemer, or Porsche. It is incredibly fast, but lacks some of the creature comforts you find in luxury cars. It is a very “smart” car. It has many software options to tune performance and personalize your ride. It rarely ever parked in the first row of valet at your favorite upscale club or restaurant. With that said, I love passing gas stations.

The Best Car We've Ever Owned

One year after purchase, and compared to 23 new cars purchased across our history, Our Tesla Model Y Performance is (by far) the best car we've ever owned. The fit and finish on the car is absolutely perfect, and the car has had no service requirements of any kind. We're planning ahead for the only two service items the car will need: rotating tires and filling the windshield washer fluid reservoir. The car was delivered to our house by Tesla, and the one upgrade we ordered (automated connection to our garage door opened) was installed at our home by a Tesla technician. For the past year, my wife has not stood at a gas station to fill the car, nor needed an oil change, nor any kind of scheduled service. At nearly 500HP, this car outperforms all of my previously-owned Corvettes and my Mercedes S-Class. We charge at home, so the car is plugged in overnight 2-3 times per week (like my iPad or my phone). In fourteen months, we've driven 9,146 miles, and the total charging cost has been $308.75 (compared to and estimated $2,625 in gasoline for the same driving). (All these analytics are tracked by the phone app.) The car has a magnificent sound system, a gorgeous interior, every electronic amenity you can imagine, and Tesla updates to car with new features at no charge every month. The car has the highest safety rating of any car, the lowest theft rate of any car, and allows remote monitoring through its eight cameras. The car also records video 360 degrees around the car when the horn is blown, or should an accident occur. It knows when we're approaching home and opens the garage door, sounds a chime when it sees the light has turned green, and shows a visualization of the road and all the cars around us as we're driving. The heat-pump keeps the car warm or cool when parked, so you never get into a hot or cold cabin, and it has a special "Dog mode" that holds a comfortable temperature when the dogs are left in the car while we duck into a store, including the ability to see the dogs on our phones using the internal camera. The security system also lets us see all around the car from the app. The navigation system is superb, using the large screen for tons of detail. Road trips are fun and easy, with the Advanced Autopilot essentially driving the car on Interstates and highways (under our supervision, of course) which seriously reduced fatigue, with the navigation mapping out charging options and times along the way, and every charger located at a good place to take a break or get a meal. We're planning to add another Tesla to our household this coming year, as there's nothing else that even close.

Excellent car and superb service

We had our Model Y for almost two years now. We use it for local trips everyday. We took it for long road trips across multiple states 3 times. It is an excellent vehicle which we now prefer to other cars in our family. Super-large baggage capacity, ease of driving (we have FSD), almost zero maintenance. We had one problem with the charger port - our car identified the issue, informed us, and pretty much scheduled service appointment itself! Service center was excellent, everything was covered under the warranty and we had a loner while they were working on our car. I installed Tesla charger at home and that made charging cheap and convenient - suggest you do the same if you are about to buy your Tesla. Supercharging is very convenient and we never had to wait to charge it during our road trips - Tesla has done fantastic job building its charging network. Model Y technology is at the totally different level, compared to "usual" cars - and it does not take much time to learn how everything works! Highly recommended!
