It's a subpar car and Nissan is a total nightmare

After you get done with the "it's a new car" feeling... you quickly come to realize why this is was the cheapest car you could find. The windshield popped for absolutely no reason and the dealer is too cheap to replace it and Nissan's Customer Complaints won't do anything about that, there was a serious safety recall half a year ago and the dealership didn't even bother to tell you about it which is probably illegal and after consulting mechanics you find that the CVT transmission requires more expensive maintenance and shop time than you thought was possible

I've owned 3 Nissans. 2 we've still got. Great vehicles. However the Versa has been one of the worst driing cars. It's laborious to drive long distance (a good in town car). In the rain, storms and even just during by large trucks it's a task to keep it in the road lanes, especially after 8-10 hours of driving or thru a 3 hour storm of heavy rain. And it seems every time I rent a car I get one....

Good handling. Sticks to the road & tight (electric) steering. Enough zip for me. Lots of lateral room & high ceiling. Mine is a stripped down S version with a stick (less to go wrong with it). Everything is cheap as it's a cheap car, especially seats. There's a rattle in the dash when it's cold. Really could use (and it can pull) a 6th gear (4k rpm @ 85mph!). But, no regrets.

Pain in the neck.... literally

When I purchased this car at just 1 years old and a little under 20,000 miles I only had if for 1 month before having to take it to the dealership for repair. The CVT transmission on this thing is complete crap and Nissan needs to just do a total recall and replace them. There is absolutely no acceleration with this car, so don't think you can jump across a busy street safely. You're either not going to be fast enough or the transmission is going to stutter and leave you sputtering in first gear. Now let's talk about the most uncomfortable car seats I've ever sat in, my neck is absolutely killing me after my 45 min drive to work. I dread driving home. Theres no real adjustments you can make to the seat or steering wheel. There's actually plenty of leg and head room, so I'll give it that. The trunk space isn't too bad either for the size of the car. Overall though this purchase has been the worst mistake of my life. I would advise to avoid it.
