Stupendous!
Just purchased a 2019 Nissan Leaf SV, gun metallic trim, and I absolutely love the car. I don’t like to get out of the car, which explains how much I love it. I love the fact that you hear nothing when you push the button to start the electric motor. The ride is very smooth and enjoyable. If someone is willing to pay from $32,000 to $40,000 for a car, the Leaf is an absolute no brained!! In New York State, you get a $2,000 rebate off the price, a $7,500 federal tax credit, and can use HOV Lanes in Long Island, and easily charge it at home or a plethora of charging stations. Most importantly, the car will help to reduce global warming. It makes no sense to get a different car in that price range, in my opinion.
Happy with our Plus
Love the relatively long range (compared to our 24kWh LEAF), great acceleration from the Plus model with increased horsepower, as well as the quality interior, ride quality, and spacious trunk. I use the adaptive cruise a lot of the time on highway driving - very happy to have it. That was a big reason I passed on the Bolt EV while I was shopping. Now that the Bolt is having all its batteries recalled, I am even more content with my choice of picking the LEAF. I think this makes for a great EV if you are in a non-desert climate. Pacific NW, midwest or northeast parts of the country are all great candidates. Pass if you are in Texas, CA, AZ, NM, Florida, etc as the heat is not kind to these air-cooled packs. I expect here we will keep our 12 bars until 150k miles, as our 24 kWh lasted 60k miles with 12 bars, and this battery is about three times as large. Only 8k miles so far, so many years of worry free driving ahead!

What is Gas?
I enjoy driving my Leaf and not worrying what the gas prices are going to be. I just plug it in at night in my garage and it is ready to go the next day, The best that I have gotten on a charge is 188 miles. Warmer weather seems to get better mileage. I also like the acceleration. I have made many a believer in my electric car's acceleration coming off of a stop light. I would like to see a 4 wheel drive version with a larger battery. Maybe something to compete with a Tesla? After driving my Leaf for about two years I am still enjoying it. I see the have come out with a bigger battery with the new models. I think Nissan should let people with the smaller batteries trade them in for the larger ones and not charge them an arm and leg for it. They need to get the cost down on the new Leaf. You can buy other electrics cheaper and not much more for a Tesla.I can see Leaf sales going down. They still need to work on a 4 wheel drive.

Unexpected sounds
Great car with peppy acceleration but just know it has mandatory sounds. Both forward and reverse “warning” sounds cannot be turned off. Otherwise a very nice car. After driving the Leaf for 1 year - a fun car to drive, peppy acceleration, responsive steering, and solid road feel. However, I HATE the loud beeping sound while reversing. Extremely annoying sound and too loud!
