Beware of the CVT transmission
Car was very reliable right up until the 36k warranty ran out. Now the car at 40,000 miles needs a new transmission. Nissan will not pay for a rental car, which I feel I shouldn't have to pay. So far customer service when having problems will cause me to never buy another Nissan again. To be fair car gets great gas mileage, fairly comfortable, did perform pretty well up until transmission died. Research the CVT transmission problems before you buy!
Have a three foot crack in my dash
What ever you do don’t buy a Nissian . Mine stays in a garage, but heat and humidity makes them crack. There is a class action lawsuit in Florida that was won by many Nissian car owners. I live in Texas and Nissian won’t stand behind their products. BUYER BEWARE.

New Transmission
Hey everyone I'm an owner of a 6 speed 2007 Nissan Altima that is on its second transmission. I noticed the problem when I couldn't shift out of 2nd gear. I called the dealer and they give you the runaround as if I never drove a manual before. So I let it go for a week until I said enough is enough. I called and told them I had a wedding to go to in West Virginia and I need my car looked at and I'm not leaving until I know whats wrong. 4 hours of waiting and they say, It looks like you need a new transmission. My stomach dropped. Well it was covered so they had to eat that 4500 dollar bill, but I noticed again that shifting into second is harder then ever. So it looks like it's going back.
2 years and going
Got a 6-speed manual in Oct '07. Loved driving it fast. Mileage is great compared to my wife's minivan (I avg. 24-27). Since it's a 4-cylinder, not very powerful but it gets the job done. Also, got the manual because the wife doesn't know how to use it; hence, I drive it all the time.
Never buy a Nissan
I purchased a Nissan because I believed it was a reliable product. The CVT transmission went out on my car. I am going back to Toyota or Honda! I warn other consumers don't buy this product!
