'94 Mazda B4000 SE
This vehicle is extremely reliable, slightly under powered, and has a front drive axel design problem. After 10 years and 185,000 miles I'd gladly buy a new one if it were available.
Better than a Toyota
Quality and reliability are equal to Toyota and Nissan trucks I have owned, but size, utility, and comfort are superior.

Best Used Truck out there
I bought this truck new in 1994 and it has never let me down. It gets 18-19 mpg combined city/highway driving. Anybody that claims 30+ MPG doesn't know what they're talking about. I will probably have to sell the truck because it barely passes NOx test every year. Other than that it's been a great vehicle and still runs like new. Oh yeah, this truck was made in America with an American engine. I will be sad when I have to finally sell it next year.
Good performance, value.
I bought it new and it has been a very good truck. Nice balance of price + performance, affordable but comfortable. Ride is truck-like when unloaded. I replaced the stock (premium) stereo and speakers, which lacked clarity. This truck is really a Ford ranger, with Mazda trim. The only repairs I had were a bad 02 sensor and EGR sensor at about 60K miles. The brake calipers tend to bind, and had to be rebuilt twice. A 4.0L with only teens for MPG should put out more than 160HP. 225 ft/lbs of torque is nice for towing, but acceleration is just ok. I modified the exhaust/intake and put in a better cam. Now it is quite peppy, maybe 190-200hp.
Luv my B4000
This is a two wheel drive, with limited slip, and a cap on the back. In the winter I put 3 or 4 sixty lb bags of sand over the rear axle, and I get everywhere I need to go. Only unusual maintenance has been replacing spark plug wires, twice. Have 135000 miles, and I don't want it to ever quit, my favorite vehicle in over 40 years of driving.
1994 B3000
I enjoy driving this vehicle. Feels very sturdy. I was worried about gas mileage because of bigger engine but this does very well. Smooth ride overall.
Bulletproof Truck
I bought it used. has over 235000 miles on it. This truck is so fun to drive. It has power and good mpg.I have done brakes and a hanger bearing for the driveshaft. It will go anywhere that I ask it to go,from beach to mountain. It has the Cologne, Germany-Ford engine. It is unbelievably smooth.5 speed manual tranny. Hydraulic clutch. I'll probably drive it until its nuts rust off. (My 2018 RAM sits in the driveway due to it's 14mpg)

happy so far...
I bought my truck used from a dealership. At the time I had two young boys and needed an extended cab to keep up with our always going somewhere outdoors life. This truck with the V6 has done everything I have asked from it. I don't pull a trailer, but rather put a 9' boat in the bed (slight overhang). I have had only a few glitches as far as repairs, that is to be expected in a truck with 139,000 miles. I believe that proper scheduled maintanance is a big reason for this B3000's happiness to keep rolling. I have had many Mazda's and will not hesitate to get another one.
Best 1/4 ton ever
This truck keeps going and going. Mine has 170 000 kms on it now, and other than oil changes, the only repair I ever made was brake pad changes. The truck is small a good on gas - but it is still powerful enough to pull a boat or ski doo. What more could you ask for?
good truck
had the truck for 6yrs and put 100,000km on it and besides changing tires, brakes, battery and recently ball joints and flex hoses i only had to change the fan motor harness(only worked on high)doesn't burn oil at all and still has original paint.good on gas too i get about 30mpg.
200,000 and the air still works
This was the first vehicle I bought and had payments. I just paid cash before and took my chances. I have driven this truck across the country. I have used it as a delivery vehicle on more than one job. I have moved in it 12 times, not to mention the others I have moved. It has been through 3 relationships, 6 jobs and one 16 year old boy for 3 months. I have pulled a 1991 Eclipse from Shreveport to Dallas with no trouble. I love Trixy! I did replace the tranny in 1996. The center console lid won't stay latched and the black on the dash has chipped off a little, and there's a worn spot on the drivers seat. At least 40 Oil changes, a couple tuneups tires and 200,000 miles later, it starts every day and the air works!
This truck will last
I purchased my Mazda B4000 when it was 2-years old. I have had no problems with it other than simple, cheap fixes that are standard with the vehicle, and it is now 2002. The truck accelorates more than powerful enough (you might spin your wheels from time-to-time!), and the AC will freeze you to death. I live in NC and I have driven to Florida, Texas, and West-Virginia in my truck, and I didn't worry one bit about not making the journey. I now have 170,000 miles on the truck. I plan on keeping this truck until the wheels fall off, which at this rate, won't be for another 20 years. I love this model/year truck and would recommend it to anyone.
Not particularly pleased.
The biggest problems I have had with this vehicle have been. -Radiator -Breaks -Air Conditioning -Uneven tire ware due to inability to aline properly. -Transmission needed replacing @ 95k miles
blue review
I really like this truck. It has been very reliable so far. It has 107,000 miles on it and still has most of the factory installed parts. I wish it had a little more power though.
The Money Pit
Stay away from this one. I have owed this truck for 4 years and have had nothing but problems. I have spent over 4000 dollars on repairs to this truck in the time I have owed it. The four wheel drive system is the worst design ever and plan on going through brake pads every 20000 miles.
Fantastic Truck
I love this truck! I bought it in Jan of 2002 with 98,000 miles on it. I put 25,000 miles on it in the following year and have been nothing but pleased. I did have to have the clutch worked on which set me back about $500, but that has been the only maintenance in over 28,000 miles. This truck is fun to drive, does great in 4WD, has enough room in the extended cab to either store a lot of gear, or take two people on a short trip. Would definitely buy it again if given the chance. Also seems to have more cab room than the Tacoma.

The P.U. good for life!
A1994 Mazda B-4000 L.E., with 139K miles, the last year of Twin I beam suspension. Rides like a Lincoln, pulls loads like a Duce and a half. The perfect vehicle, rain or shine. The only real problem was the power door locks, they quit, but I know how to use a key, so be it. My truck gets an honest 21 mpg on the interstate @ 75mph, and 17 around town. Use clean filters, good oil and don't cowboy the tranie, and I bet she will outlast me. Best vehicle I ever owned, and that goes back to 1958!

MAZDA truck
The truck still runs great. It has travelled across the counrty several times. It has been relatively cheap to maintain.
