2018 450HL
Best value out there among LUX Hybrid SUV. My previous SUV was BMW X3 i35, MSRP $55k and the Lexus 450HL is $65k, I am paying .38 cents more a month for my lease but is 39 month verses 36 months. The options included in the Lexus blows away the BMW X3. For the same, I would need to get a X5 and that would run in the $70k+ range. the trade off is the handling but the comfort and the additional options and pricing are there to make you forget about it. Plus is larger in size and gets better gas mileage. you need to check it out before you make your final decision . worth a test drive or visit into a Lexus showroom.

Ride quality is great.Extra cargo space is nice
We were on the fence with a Toyota Highlander Hybrid and a Ford Explorer hybrid when this vehicle came on our radar. Our third row requirement is rare (kids+mil+dog) so we wanted a car that had a third row but not too often for long drives. The interiors on this were plush (Black leather with grey trims) and the ride quality is way better than both the highlander and the explorer. The media interface is meh but we mostly hear songs and navigation via bluetooth which works smooth once connected the first time. The built in navi is strictly ok. Sound quality from the speakers is way better...we had a Kia Sorento SX with JBL Infinity speakers and 2500 W amp before this and this stock system beats the sound of that ! Heated seats, mood lighting, wood trim, easy controls for mirros and windows have little Lexus touches that make it a plush choice for a hybrid car. So far we have driven it 2500 miles and got around 26 -28 mpg with 40:60 mix of city/highway driving. The mileage goes way up to 30-35mpg if you are cruising with very little acceleration at 65-70 mph. Road noise is minimum and the best part of the car is that it floats over all the bumps and lane reflectors without a shock being sent up into the cabin zone. The switch from hybrid mode to engine only is a little noticeable for sound but only if you have driven a plug in hybrid before where it is seamless. The car does not jerk or pause when it happens and the CVT then takes it over very smoothly. The one star I docked in the review is for the entertainment system that is missing the android carplay and a touchscreen interface. The joystick control is super distracting when driving.

Lexus RX 450hL Luxury model - Excellent Choice
Very excited when I got the car in Jan'2019. This is fully loaded, as it is the luxury model, with all the bells and whistles. It's best value out there among Luxury SUV. I did test drive X5 and GLE and found RX 450hL better in every respect in the $65-$70K range. It's larger in size and gets better gas mileage and better pickup due to hybrid engine and the car is easily able to get to 90 mph. Ride is as smooth as silk, very quiet and high end interior. CVT transmission is very smooth and the instant torque very fast in sports mode. I am only missing Apple Car that has been launched in 2020 model and doesn't have software upgrade option from Lexus Dealer. My suggestion would be to Lexus to provide Apple car play upgrade option through dealer.

Great SUV for a family with kids and 28-mpg
Smooth ride, great quality of material, and impeccable fuel economy as you already know about the famous LEXUS perks. I chose RX hybrid L model for the family road trip when we stay in the hotels. I also owned a Sienna mini-van and needed another car for high-mileage trip and commute. I was worried about the cargo space because of many concerns in reviews, but this L model has enough space for a large icebox and three large trunks. We don't need 3rd row seats, but it is useful sometimes when we need to give someone a ride for a short distance which actually happened to me many times. Overall, I am satisfied with my decision, but I would like to say I just bought the right car at the wrong time. My RXL is a base model with ridiculously overpriced ~$10,000 options which ends up around ultra luxury trim price level. Update 2nd year of driving, a good thing is it still goes average 28 mpg (30 hwy, 25 city, I drive more on hwy)

Nice car lots of futures
The car is great for small family, we are four and a dog so is perfect for us. Lots of safety futures and smoth ride. I had a Mercedes but I will never go back.. all those European cars are just a box full of non working and expensive futures to fix.
Excellent Crossover
Never thought I would buy a hybrid, but the Smoothness is the CVT and the instant torque sold me. Ride is as smooth as silk. Very quiet and high end interior. Only gripe is the exterior styling.
Awesome Vehicle
Not only does this vehicle looks stylish and intelligent, designed and built with safety in mind, drives and ride effortlessly, smooth and quite, interior design is inviting and comfortable, dashboard and instrument panel driver and front passenger friendly, Overall very impressive vehicle, the only drawback is the third row seating is not designed for adults uncomfortable. Satisfied Owner. Larry A.

the last car I will buy
bought the top of the line , RX 450h in Matador Red. It is loaded and a spectacular car. Plus the hybred allows me to feel as though I'm contributing to the health of our mother Earth.

My ultimate care
The car performs well, so far (I got the car 01/02/19). It turns easily and the backup cameras are great. The acceleration is great. The built in mouse is easy to operate. I have not set all the features. Blue tooth was set up. I did add my home address to the 12.3" navigation system, which was easy enough. I picked the car up at a dealership on the other side of the state (Plaza Lexus). The ride back (about 200 miles), was smooth, the car was easily able to get to 85 mph and slow down when the traffic slowed to about 55 mph. The car is loaded, as it is the luxury model, with all the bells and whistles. It even had the color heads up display (which shows the speed and other things). I would not recommend using this with backseat driving passengers.

What a great SUV
Test drove several other SUV's including used RX's but their ride comfort just couldn't match the RX 450Lh. The 2 tone tan/brown interior is very good looking and outside is a real eye catcher! (the extra 4" in the L is worth the slightly higher price because it gives a better ride and definately better looking.) The ride could not be any smoother, it simply feels like luxury! Completely satisfied with my purchase

Quiet and well made
Fit and finish inside and out is impeccable. Roomy interior, VERY quiet ride at all speeds. Fuel economy better than advertised. Built-in wireless modem is not dependable, Lexus tech’s cannot find cause. Instrumentation takes some time to learn the best settings. Would buy again

No trailer hitch for the RX 450hL
Told the sales rep. that I planned to install a trailer hitch on the RX 450hL and was told I could have one installed myself or have Lexus do it. After purchasing and shopping for a compatible hitch I learned that no one makes a hitch for this vehicle... not even Lexus! (They make one for the RX450h, but not the "L".) Not happy with this bait and switch... Otherwise, this car is very nice.
Nearly all plusses, but a couple of minuses.
As usual, in the RX450hL Toyota has created a vehicle superbly designed and constructed. I have 6,000 miles on it without a single problem. MPG is right at 30. It is indeed a joy to drive. But, typical of Toyota, the info display is a bit funky. Customization of the home screen is more limited than before. In fact, it doesn't really have a "home" screen anymore. There's no "home" button to take you back to your pre-set preferences, and the display keeps wanting to revert to some factory default. Previously you could configure the screen to display almost any three sources simultaneously. Now it only allows two, and you are limited to just a few sources available as defaults. Also, I actually preferred the much-maligned mouse-type control on my 2018 RX350, as the touchpad on the 2022 model is pretty much useless. But the 2022 does add touchscreen capability. Overall, despite the info screen limitations, I would definitely buy again without hesitation.

Superior to my Bentley Azure and Rolls Royce cab
Our Lexus RX 450hL provides serene, secure cruising on every road trip. No break downs, no luxury car foibles, no antics, no English "craftmanship" no exorbitant service bills. Just Japanese craftmanship, reliability and attention to detail. Don't let me started on my English and Mercedes experiences... We are waiting for an EV that can beat our current Lexus.

Soccer Mom Car
Dependable luxury for your wife and kids. This was the 3rd Lexus I have owned. Great for the family but no performance. No turbos or superchargers in the line. Great second car but not my primary.

Slow as molasses
My dad just leased this yesterday. I drove it and was ready to cry afterwards. 0-60 in 7.9 seconds. It’s so slow. I don’t know why someone would pay for a car this slow. There are so many better options out there at this price point.
Poor Build Quality
This car has poor build quality, less than 700 miles and the side mirror breaks at a carwash. After looking at the mirror housing, its a cheap plastic that holds it together. Hopefully that will be the only issue in the near future. Really wished there were GLE\GLS or X5\X7 available to purchase before settling for a Lexus. The infotainment is awful, not very user friendly and perhaps the worst quality 360 camera of any car for the past 10 years. The Mark Levinson radio sounds good, the MPG is not as good as advertised but its nice getting at least 25mpg for such a heavy vehicle. Comfortable but boring and unenthusiastic ride quality. After previously owning a vehicle from the big 3 brands from Japan, I can confirm that Japanese reliability is a myth. The only reputation that’s true of them is the boring and uninspired ride quality.

Super Popular SUV - But Not a 3-Row Vehicle
What can you say about the most popular SUV for years now, it still has all the factors that have made it great. The hybrid version has the best combined EPA MPG in its class. What really goes against the grain is the addition of only 4.4" to the overall length to add a relatively useless 3rd row. The only people that can sit in the 3rd row with any level of comfort are small children. It is safe to say that the extra space afforded by the Lexus long version is a small amount of storage space. So, if you can look beyond the limitation of small kids only in the 3rd row, you still have an awesome mid-sized luxury SUV.
