Worthless remote start
I live in an area that gets cold snowy winters so a remote start is a must. The Lexus actually have 2 ways to start the car remotely so I thought this would be great. The first way I tried was on the key fob only to find that it won’t start from inside my house. I actually have to open the door and stand in the doorway to point the key fob at the car. Well that’s not an option when it’s 12 degrees out. I then tried the key fob from inside a store. Nope that didn’t work either. I found that the only way to get it to work is if I was within 50 feet of the car. By the time it started I was all ready there so the car was not warm or defrosted. Next I tried the Lexus app on my phone. Surely that will start my car. They said I can start my car from across the country! Ok this time I’m at the store, I tap my Lexus app, I then have to sign in, then they have to send me a code for me to put in. I finally input all my information. I push the button. “ contacting vehicle” then “ sending request” yay it started but unfortunately it took so long I could have been home. At one point it told me my request was going to take up to 24 hours yikes. Soooo... I talked to the dealership for the umteenth time and asked if I could get an old fashioned remote system installed on my new 2020 rx350 only to be told that it would void my warranty. WHAT! I’m actually sorry that I bought this car because it has tons of conveniences that I like but this is a major one that makes owning this car a problem.

2020 RX 350 F Sport - Solid Car, but with flaws
Wife has leased a 2020 RX 350 F Sport at the end of 2019. We did some research before we decided to go with this one. Overall experience is positive, this is a solid car, with plenty of safety features. Car drives comfortable, and semi quiet. Things I don't like are follows. Transmission - when leave the setting at normal mode, the transmission up shifts too quick, it always goes up to 5th gear at relatively low speed, which causes lack of torque, once you step on accelerator down more, the transmission down shifts, what's the point? Why not keep it at lower gear a bit longer, so it doesn't have to down shift often. Sure, it will have impact on the fuel consumption, but, it will make the car responses much better around town. Touchless Rear Hatch Opener - Our leased car came with this feature, but, for unknown reason, it never works first thing in the morning, or after the car has parked for several hours. I took it back to dealer, the sensor was replaced, still, same as before, even when it works, there is a 1.5 to 2 seconds delay before the hatch opens. I am extremely disappointed, this is not a new technology, my other car has this feature, and it never fails. Dealer checked out other RX on the lot, apparently, they all operate the same way. Interior Light - Although the car has LED interior light, the brightness is a joke. We had an Infiniti QX56 (with light color interior) previously, the interior light is much brighter than RX350. Even my other car with black interior has much brighter interior light than this car. Driving Dynamic - There is no excitement driving the car, the feeling is bland. I understand this is a family SUV, should never be treated as a higher performance one, still, a little bit driving character can be introduced to the car. For example, there is a delay in transmission down shifts even if the setting is in S mode, when step down the accelerator harder, it takes long time for the transmission to realize that you need it to down shift. There is no question this is a solid car, the quality is above average, but why settle down at good cars, why not raise the bar to build GREAT cars.

Great !
The 2020 RX is a dream to drive. The looks are great, and they tweaked the front end just a bit to make it look even better. As I had an older RX in 2015, the new one is by far superior. The ride is much smoother, very quiet interior. The nicest upgrade is the infotainment , and bigger screen that offers touch now in addition to the pad. The screen is easy to reach. The Premium package offers plenty of extras with a 360 view camera as an option. I highly recommend the 360 camera...very helpful. The radio is awesome, and bluetooth is very clear. Seats are extremely comfortable.
