I love this car, but...
Bought this car 4 months ago. It had 80k on odometer. Was in very good condition inside and out. Always garaged. People couldn't believe it was 18 years old. I drove it about 500 miles and discovered it had no oil showing on the dipstick. I was surprised as it did not seem to be burning oil. Put 2 qts in and headed to the local repair shop. They told me this model was notorious for consuming oil and had serviced many of these. Something to do with sludge buildup, valve covers and PVC valve. Well $1700 later the problem was fixed. I've since driven it over 2,000 miles and no loss of oil. Although I had to initially deal with the oil issue, I do truly love this car. It's a very solid, quiet and smooth riding vehicle. It's easy to get in and out of and has ample cargo space for me. I had 2 other issues needing repair: front door windows and door locks to the tune of $1200. As it's in such good condition cosmetically and rides so nice, I hope to be able enjoy this car for many years to come.

My last Toyota purchase
This car did not live up to my expectations. After owning many Toyota products, a Corrolla was my first car, I will no longer be purchasing their product. The hype that this car would run for 200 to 300 thousand miles is just hype. My transmission gave out on a major highway at 10:00 PM in a construction zone 30 miles from ANY gas station or other help. Two years ago the air conditioning unit needed replacement and now there are electrical problems. I have never had so many problems with a car.

my golden McNugget!
hi i am Mackenzie! I got McNugget for my first car at 16 years old this past summer with only 101,000 miles. WOW! Yes it did smell like moth balls and it had an exhaust leak, but it sat at my grandparents in Florida for 2 years, so what do you expect. The battery has some trouble in these cold Connecticut winters! The butt warmers work great in the snowy weather, as does the AWD system! It does have a temper, like me, and it doesn't like to start sometimes, then give it 10 minutes and it starts right up. It is 14 years old though, so what do you expect! It honestly is a great car if you don't always need reliability and you want to be known for the weird smells in the parking lot, so what do you expect, eh?

like a tank
This vehicle rides like a tank. My wife likes this. I don't. She is very happy with the car. She feels safe and the seats are good for her sore back. I don't complain but I do find it top- heavy and unresponsive. Do yourself a favor and put on the best tires money can buy, get them rotated regularly and have the alignment checked. We get 19 mpg on a mix of city and highway driving. At 80000, it's been reliable. I shudder to think what a serious repair would cost. For this reason alone, I am agreeable to trading it in on a certified pre-owned RX330.
Luxury????
If you noticed, the annual mileage portion of this review was left blank. I couldn't comment, as I have only had my RX for 6 months, 3 of which I've been dealing with nothing but problems. 20 days post-warranty, my short block of the engine needed replacement, as it was burning excessive oil. Lexus stood behind the motor, but left me with the $2500-3000 labor bill. Dealership was horrible-- referring to me as a person looking to get an extra buck anyway I can; telling me I didn't appreciate any of the work they had done; and my list could go on! Will never deal with Lexus or Bergstrom ever again!
