Good-bye Mercedes Benz

After my 3rd Benz and second Benz SUV I thought it might be time for a change and in walked NX. Actually I was convinced that the 2016 Acura RDX would be my next car since it had best cargo space [was driving Benz GLK], and best value for all the bells and whistles; that is until I stopped by the Lexus dealership and drove the NX F-Sport. I was not too sure about the overall looks [a bit aggressive] until I drove the car. It is actually a very capable SUV/CUV with one important caveat. IT IS FUN TO DRIVE! Made the deal that day and have not looked back since. Go buy one!

Not As Great as It Looks

Traded an RX 350 for a new 2015 model. Have not yet reached 21 mpg, generally are able to achieve 19.5 mpg on average. I am not a fast driver and basically drive in eco mode all the time to see if I can get the gas mileage up, Thus missing out on the added turbo from the other choices. Very small in back, did not realize how little can be put in the back of the vehicle, barely room to put a car seat in the back seats without moving the passenger seats forward quite a bit. Did not know the interior was not leather; it does not clean the same as leather. Very disappointed in the mileage and wrote Lexus about it. they sent a standard response back that it mostly likely is my driving habit. The vehicle is comfortable; the Bluetooth has never worked correctly with my iphone; Lexus Enform seems to have problems with connectivity and being able to start the vehicle as advertised. I would rather drive a larger vehicle; thought I was getting a better deal on gas mileage.

Bought on the end of the year and thought we got a great deal. Looking for mid level trim and they didn't have the colors we were looking for, so they offered up level trim for just a few dollars more. Very quiet, comfortable car. Not a look of miles yet, so might return to update later on. Lots of useful features, but my favorite is the LED headlights that are automatic. Extremely bright and the automatic feature works great. The Lexus nav with touch pad is great, voice works well and gets most everything on one try. July Update-The car is great, very comfortable, and quiet. Seats are nice and hold you in perfectly. No new issues to report. Jan 17 Update-Still continue to like this car. Nothing about it I would change, maybe to use regular gas.

Oz didn't do nothing for...the Tin Man...

The vehicle I drove, while being attractively outfitted in a brilliant white exterior with a flaxon interior, left me disappointed by the somewhat under-powered "tinny" feel of the 4-cylinder engine, and even more disappointed by the extremely cheap sounding audio system. While that may be an "entry-level" system, it was constantly displaying harmonic distortion, and clearly was not up the level of quality I would have expected of such a prestigious brand as Lexus. The interior is well done however, and rivals the larger RX models for ergonomics. Would still consider the NX, but would recommend the NX300h Hybrid version for the better fuel economy as well as the additional instant power available. Perhaps something larger than the 2.0, say a small V-6 in the NX200T would rectify the power shortage for those of us not wanting to always have to get into the Turbo for passing, accelerating onto on-ramps, etc.

I downgraded in size from my VW Touareg. I went with the F-Sport model and couldn't be happier. Average over 21 mpg. The NX 200t is fun to drive, sporty and sassy. I'm an aggressive driver and it doesn't disappoint. I'm a small person and the seats are highly adjustable so as to maintain good high visibility. This is a fun, well-designed and comfortable car. My only complaints are that the Lexus Enform entertainment system is TERRIBLE and Lexus didn't offer heads up display in the US.
