Great Car But.....
Leased two fully loaded cars (ES 350 and IS 300) from Lexus in April 2017. The ride is very smooth, the interior comfortable, the upgraded sound system wonderful, and the car very quick from a standing start, but.....the driving dynamics of the ES are terrible. The car should never be driven above 70 mph on any road other than one that is absolutely straight. Body-roll is very pronounced when driving through curves and it is difficult for the car to hold a line. For me, this distracts from the overall enjoyment of the car.

Excellent Value for the Money
I work for a Auto Dealership so I know a lot about cars, I have a Infinity 2014 Q50 which is a great car but was limited on space in the rear seat and trunk, but very fast. I also own a 2001 Lexus RX 300 with 176000 miles on it still going strong, which to this day rides smoother than my Infinity, so I decided to get the 2017 ES 350, I previous had a 97 ES 300, WOW what a difference in ride compared to my Q50, nice and quiet and smooth running, very comfortable and I like all the high tech stuff, minds is fully loaded and so since I work for the auto industry I got a very good lease on this one. I drive BMW's and Mercedes, Acura, and Audi all the time and nothing compares to the value and comfort of my ES, It's one of the best car's I've ever had and I've had just about every car made, American and foreign, and hands down this is the one, so if you looking for comfort and value and a lot for your money, check out the new ES, oh by the way I got the Atomic Silver with the two tone interior, Tinted windows, beautiful, beautiful car!!!!

Fantastic value overall
A few bugs in the car: the navigation does not lower the stereo when giving voice directions, and the remote start option is nice but after you start the car and open the door the engine cuts off and you have to start it again. Other than that, navigation takes a bit getting used to with the remote touch mouse. Superb ride, that is very quiet with more than ample power. The car feels heavy but moves with ease. I have the base sound system and it sounds crystal clear. Overall you get Lexus quality and the price really cannot be beat for this model.

Need Avalon Interior and FREE REMOTE START
The monthly charge to remote start is a JOKE!!! You can NOT add remote start, Lexus FORCES you to pay approx $30 per month! REDICULOUS!Love everything about the car EXCEPT the interior storage is VERY limited. No storage for glasses under the rear view mirror and the doors will not hold a soda bottle. Avalon has Lexus interior beat. Also, complimentary maintenance is better in Avalon. For purchase price difference one has to hope resale will return a portion of price increase. Remote start is ONLY available if you subscribe to the Lexus suite after the one year subscription expires. $35 a month is TOO EXPENSIVE to continue remote start and from what I am told, is there is not a dealer or after market remote start available.

A Car to Drive Through my Golden Years
When in my 30s and 40s I regularly read the sporty auto mags with the greatest interest, especially when they were doing comparison reviews of the compact luxury brands led by the BMW 3 series. When I finally pounced on a BMW, it was the 5 series. 1994 I think. I didn't need the extra room. I assume that those magazine articles had a lot to do with it. It turned out to be probably the least value I ever got from an auto. A heavy, mid-sized auto at a stiff price powered by a puny 192 HP straight six. I was going to replace it after seven or eight years with a 3 series, and even ordered one. But I test drove a Lexus IS 350 and found a like to like, starting with being able to buy a fully loaded Lexus for the same price as a "half-loaded" BMW. That Lexus will go down as my favorite auto. It fit me like a glove, had sufficient power and strong brakes and the most attractive coat of paint I'd ever seen, a Mica Red that glistened in the sunlight. In the eight years that I owned the car, the only defect of any kind that emerged was a broken wheel ball bearing that sounded much worse than it was. I put about $1500 into the car, preparing to keep it another three years. Not surprisingly, not long afterwards the car was totalled in a left turn intersection crash for which I was half responsible. The tow operator told me that most cars not built by Toyota would have been ripped in two by the van accelerating through the intersection to beat the light. True? Who knows. What to do next? I know that the Lexus ES series is considered to be sort of like a horse and buggy to the enthusiast magazines. But at age 66, mostly retired and putting few miles on my car, the ES 350 was in its last year before being replaced by a completely redesigned model, and Lexus was subsidizing the remaining 2018s with $4000. I leased for three years at the 7500 miles a year rate. And I can say that I'm satisfied. It is smooth and quiet, and has never failed to deliver all the acceleration I wanted from its 270 hp V6. The brakes are not quite as powerful as on the sportier cars, but I quickly adapted. The Lexus' most admirable features are ones not much considered in reviews but are very important to me living on a crowded Long Island full of accidents: reliability and all the safety equipment available coming standard. Disappointments: The infotainment is clumsy to operate, but since I just have set a lot of presets to my SiriusXM, I don't face many challenges. The navigation system is worse than that on my 2008, mainly in cases where you depart from the original route set and the navsys when it recalculates wants to send you off the main highways onto side streets. A larger gas tank to improve the 350 mile declared range on a full tank would be nice. As I indicated, I don't drive the car that much so I haven't been testing it under more heavy driving. I also don't know how passengers would feel about it since I seldom have any. But I'm quite satisfied after 1.5 years.
LOVE This Car!
Four years ago we purchased this car. It is still the most luxurious car we've ever owned. The two main selling points are a library quiet interior and an incredibly smooth rode. The interior is well appointed and luxurious... fit and finish is excellent. The V6 is smooth and powerful. This is not a sports car by any means. Body lean is significant on a clover leaf... so if that's what you want, I would look elsewhere. For a smooth cruiser that's a treat to drive - both long and short trips... it fits the bill in a really great way.

Four and Counting
This is our fourth ES 350 lease. We love this car! We were also very pleased with the improvements made in just three years between our 2014 and 2017 model. We came to Lexus after leasing Acura for a number of years. Have also looked at Mercedes but they can't compare to Lexus ES 350. Suggest Lexus allow for more than two pages of XM channels. No need for 2 pages of AM channels.

Lexus Feature Value Hard to Beat
Great look, very comfortable to drive, safety features are the best, actual mileage beats the advertised expectations, one of the best on the road today. Feature value is unmatched. After driving for one year now, this is my favorite car. Very comfortable, great safety features, economical, roomy and well appointed. After driving for a couple of years, this car can't be beat. Very reliable, comfortable, great safety features. Love it. This car after driving for 4 years now continues to deliver: comfort, safety, value, reliability, and everything else one could ask for. A great car. Been driving this car for 7 years. An excellent vehicle. No complaints. Very reliable, comfortable, excellent mileage, luxurious, quiet what more can I say.

The Japanese Buick" is a winner
This is my 4th Lexus. Two ESs and one GS before the current car. All are reliable. Take it to the bank. This '17 Es is very full featured, with nav, etc and i got the panoramic roof and the 18 inch upgrade wheels. It's noticeably faster on acceleration than my 2012 ES , yet it has the same 3.5 ltr v6, and I'm not sure why. Fit and finish are very good and the extra room the '17 has over the '12, primarily in the back seat is nice. Handling is typical Lexus, good but not great, but good enough that you can throw it around a bit, but not too much. All in all, a good car and worth the money. I started out wanting a BMW 5 and became convinced that this car is a better value than it and than the GS as well. would buy again. UPDATE 9/12/19. I like the car even more. Silky smooth ride and 30-31 mpg on the hwy at 75 mph.

Loaded with value
It's not a hi performance car. It's extremely quiet and smoothness is very good. Technology is too complicated and distracting. The more you use it however, the easier it gets, especially if you can master the speech commands. Its Mark Levinson audio system is fantastic. Quality is evident in exterior paint, interior seating with adequate room for a 6'2" driver. Still bump my head occasionally on door opening, when exiting or entering drivers seat. I don't care for fake leather. Looks cheap in the cabin. However, it fulfills its entry level luxury car descriptions. I bought a Ultra Luxury package with panoramic roof, with all options offered, which overcame many of its shortcomings. I would not be happy with the ES350 equipped with a base or near base option package. My wife who is the main driver, shares my feelings on the technology, and is getting the hang of it. If you've ever owned a true luxury sedan, the Lexus ES350 is certainly a step down, but makes up for it with value, dependability, low maintenance cost, and low fuel cost. I still have my 1997 ES300. Interior is genuine leather and overall interior quality on the 1997 was much better. Still runs good and has about 285,000 miles. It’s obvious that car manufactures today are making cars lighter in weight, using cheaper quality materials, and using options and accessories to boost their profits. After 54,000 miles and 7 yrs of ownership my 2017 vehicle still looks and performs like new. Very happy with this purchase with no complaints and will probably give it to my great grandson when he has his 16th birthday in 5 more years. I gave his dad my 1997 lexus.

Dangerous Voice Recognition and Navigation System
Navigation very mixed. Hard to set and control. Dumb routes sometimes. Miss interprets voice commands frequently. Using own phone probably better. Two year update: Voice recognition for navigation or hands free phone at best, mostly wrong to at worst, useless. Third year update: I'm further downgrading the voice recognition and navigation system to dangerous. By having to constantly cancel and correct its incorrect recognition of commands, the system creates a distraction plus anger. Lexus's refusal to do any upgrades to improve performance is also a large negative on car and company. I've removed a star. Fourth year review. The danger and aggregation of the voice recognition has gotten worse it seems. To make a hands free phone call takes five tries sometimes. The things it comes up with are really, really stupid they are so far off base. Compared to Alexa and Google voice recognition really show how pathetic Lexus's system is. Goodbye another star.

Love it
It is extremely comfortable. Has many nice features. Beautiful interior and very classy. I was on market for Tesla Model 3, but stopped at Lexus and really liked how comfortable the car was. So, I made an emotional purchase. I only regret that I didn't get a Hybrid. Would be even better. Navigation is not great.

ES 350 to the Max
I had my first visit to a Car Max, so I didn't know the process. They had my test drive waiting up front, so in we went (and I banged my head). Seat will adjust down, and it must be if you are a taller driver as I am. Interior comfort was better, in my opinion, than the E Class Mercedes I had driven earlier in the day. Overall ride comfort was a 4. compared to Mercedes 4.9. The Lexus infotainment battery of gadgets was tough to navigate with a first test drive, but I was extremely disappointed with the Levinson stereo. With an Ultra-Luxury option package, this ride should have blown me away. Instead, it was a gentle breeze. Overall, Lexus is a very beautiful car inside and out, but it was the 'little things' that kept me from purchasing this particular car.

Outdated infotainment system
I was so excited to get this car but soon deflated. Although the ride is luxurious and the car is super comfortable and handles well on the road, I couldn’t get past the clumsy front interior, no storage space, cumbersome knob one has to use to navigate and small recessed screen. So outdated and spoiled the ride. My 2013 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid had more features and the interior was better appointed. Alas, the car went back. I bought a brand new 2021 Hyundai Sonata limited edition. More money but infinitely more satisfying and with all the new technology.

Certified 2018 Lexus ES 350
The car drives and performs as expected. Luxury package, safety features and driver comfort are as advertised. I used Edmunds review and pricing model for a no haggle buying experience. My final price was within $50 of Edmunds total drive out price. Lexus certified status provided additional two years of new car warranty (unlimited miles). Also 2 years of complimentary maintenance. Edmunds has been my primary source of reference for my 2 new car and one used car purchases in the past 12 years.

Car has not had a mechanical fault and I've put 39K on it. Absolutely one of the best cars I've ever owned. Nav system is a little slow to reroute when I don't follow it's route. Other than that the car is perfect. I have a 2019 model now, ES350. This car is better than the previous Lexus. Nav system is flawless, handles better due to redesign of chassis. I hate to get out when I reach my destination !!

German Car Guy Converted to Lexus Guy by 2017ES350
Best value for the money as a used car! I purchased my 2017 ES 350 in July 2020 with 20,500 miles. I have had zero issues so far. I have put 21,000 additional miles on it in one year. It has a heavy solid comfortable ride with great acceleration from the 3.5 liter V6. I've owned serveral Mercedes, BMWs and a Porsche. I loved those cars too, but I hated the maintenance costs after 5 years. I have real peace of mind with the Lexus. I took the Lexus in for warranty repairs and the service manager came out of his office because so few warranty repairs are ever done. He showed me that I didn't know the proceedure for setting the memory seat. I liked the confidence in the product knowing it is usually user error...not the car. I plan on driving this car at least 10 years. It seemed like new and it only cost $26K(luxury package with glass roof) last year. Good luck!

Nicest car I've ever owned
I decided to go up one level on the options which includes the telescopic steering wheel, front and rear parking sensors woodgrain trim and a couple of other things. This car rides buttery smooth and the power is there when you need it. I like the high-end buying experience as they kill you with kindness and the dealership is absolutely immaculate with complementary food and drink. Free car washes for life and 3 years of oil changes. They loaned me a GS while my windows were being tinted. The GS has a firmer seat and a much firmer ride, kind of like the Infiniti Q50 I test drove. I made the right decision with the ES 350.

Excellent Car
My 2017 is now 6 years old and I was looking to trade it in....FORGET IT!!! I looked at Subaru (which was highly rated) Infiniti Q50 and Lexus ES 350. All the changes are NIGHTMARES!! Run flat tires (no jack or spare and not repairable) you have to buy a new tire where a common flat used to cost $25. When the tire blows out it will pull you across the highway and usually damage the wheel. The $25 flat tire is now a $1200 flat tire and almost all car manufacturers have them. I'm waiting for someone to be seriously hurt and the lawsuits begin. These tires are a death ride. So are the tires with the non existent sidewall. The CD Players are all deleted for extremely confusing Apple Car Play. I guess they expect you to throw away all your CD's. I only have 22K miles on my 2017 ES 350. I'd be very foolish to trade it for one of these cars.

You can’t go wrong with an ES
This is my second ES 350. I also own a 2010 year model. I can say enough about how luxurious, and reliable these cars are. I like the overall quality of the 2010 better, but the technology in the 2016 is much more current. I recommend this car to anyone who is looking for cabin and trunk space, a smooth ride with a comfortable interior and superb reliability. I am highly satisfied with my investment in this vehicle.

Love the car. It's our 2nd Lexus (1st was 2004 ES 330 had absolutely no problems with car). It may not be exciting to drive or sporty but you can't beat it for comfort and reliability. I love all the options available like the glass top, blind spot warning, auto cruise control, etc. Only problem has to do with exterior, front section on side by wheel well keeps coming unfastened every times car goes over bump.

Comfortable Car that will allow you to blend in
No power folding Mirrors. Lexus does not have Android Auto or Apple Car. This is the car for you if you want to go any where and not be noticed. This is my 3rd Lexus 2nd ES and I can take it any place, Seedy neighborhood or Country club and it does not get a second look. I can arrive in maximum comfort and not be annoyed by anyone. These things lease at such a great value that I am never concerned with giving it to the valet. Even the first day, I used two Valets and gave it no more thought then if it were a rental. My current car has the 17" grand touring tires and the extra rubber makes this quiet and really comfortable. I have the Luxury package and Navigation which adds some nice features. If you can find nice colors get the Ultra Luxury with the Mark Levinson Stereo, Panaoramic sunroof, and upgraded leather with power extender on the drivers seat. (My wife has this) Personally I would get the Flaxen (my current car) or Parchment interior. Gray is ok, but the black interior is depressing. Note the Lexus Navigation is just ok, they should add Android Auto and Apple Car.

Very Pleased
I purchased the Lexus ES-350 primarily for comfort. I got exactly what I hoped for. Further, designers provided unexpected features for convenience. My only suggestion would be to reengineer the climate controls. It is far too difficult to understand and execute the means for turning on and off the air conditioning.

Overwhelming car
I have been a loyal Cadillac owner, but decided to try a Lexus. I found the Lexus dealer to be very friendly, helpful and honest. I bought a fully loaded 2018 ES350. I have found the technology to be overwhelming. I was given a 'once-over' about the car at the dealership, which helped very little. I have attempted to read the various manuals, but have not become any more familiar with the car. I know that the CUE ratings for the Cadillac do not receive positive results, but the technology on the Lexus is so difficult and not logical , and cumbersome. While the Lexus gets very good reliability ratings, one should be aware of the daily use of the car. This care is built and designed for those that have a smart phone, which I do not nor wish to have. (One cannot have remote start without a cell phone, that is awful}. I do not expect to keep this car for long, but hope to return to Cadillac.

My first Lexus! Wow!
We bought this used in December of 2022. We've had a number of Toyotas in the past, and at least 4 Avalons. I never considered a Lexus because everyone told me that the Lexus was just a Toyota with a higher price tag. What a bunch of baloney! After my last Avalon (2010 Limited), I sprung for a 2018 ES350. What a difference!!! I looked at a 2016 Avalon, which was nice, but compared to this ES350, the Avalon seems like a Mickey Mouse car (and that's not to say anything bad about the nice Avalon; I'm just comparing). I wondered how could I have been so misled all these years? Lexus is indeed a major upgrade from a Toyota! The ride, quiet interior, interior quality, the intuitive controls, etc, are all a step above the Avalon. The car lets me program it to perform the way I want it to; the settings menu is deep and can be confusing at first (like many complex things) but I got used to them quickly. I can now maneuver the navagation system almost without looking, whether the navagation itself, or climate control, media, etc. The navigation's traffic performance is a little slow catching up to real time traffic (unlike google maps) but it comes pretty close most of the time. The car is really good looking, easy to get in and out of, the heated and cooled seats are comfortable and really nice and toasty in the winter and cool nicely in the summer. The craziest thing happened after we first got it home; I was parked in the garage, playing with the controls and settings, engine off and doors closed; my wife walked by the front of the car and asked something. I could only see her lips move. I hollered "What??" She then yelled something which I could barely make out as mumbling, to which I hollered back "I can't understand a word you're saying!!" to which she hollered back "What??????" She couldn't understand me either! The car is that quiet! I had to pop open the driver's door to hear what in the world she was trying to say! We both laughed and got a kick out that. Several times since then when one of us gets out of the car before the other, and we try to say something, we just can't hear what the other person is saying when the doors are closed. And no, we're not hard of hearing at all. The Avalon Limited was nowhere near as quiet. As for MPG, we drive mostly highway miles and we get around 30 MPG! That is incredible for a car this size with a V6, and we don't drive slow either. The car is no speed demon, but it is indeed quite nimble and fun to drive, and is fast enough to get me into trouble with the police (hypothetically speaking, that is). One really sweet item is the adaptive cruise control; it's very intelligent and smooth when adjusting to traffic. We also have a 2022 Honda Odyssey and, while it's a joy to drive, the Honda simply doesn't have the adaptive cruise figured out yet. The Honda often has "false alarms" and jams the brakes for no reason other than a car being in the next lane in a curve, or even reacting to a sudden shadow or whatever in the road. The Lexus NEVER has false alarms and NEVER just jams the brakes for no reason. The Lexus also seems to "see" further ahead than the Honda and it adjusts its speed like a human tends to do, by just briefly letting up on the gas to match the speed of a car ahead. The Honda tends to keep stepping on the gas like a distracted driver, then suddenly jams the brakes when it gets close enough to the slower car in front. This can be very annoying in the Honda. Often while driving, and as driving conditions change, I'll increase the distance between other car by clicking the button to increase distance. The Lexus simply let's up on the gas for a couple of seconds until the distance is correct. But the Honda jams the brakes to meet the desired distance. Totally stupid. The 2018 Lexus cruise is much more refined and clearly more intelligent and human-like than even the 4-year newer 2022 Honda. All that and much more, plus the reliability record of the Lexus has made me a Lexus customer. I look forward every chance at taking this car on the road whether to work or play!

Get trapped.
When shopping we went on our emotions and wanted to buy a luxury car. Paid price for not prepared to walk away. Needed all wheels o 4 wheels drive. panoramic roof and power trunk lid and radar detector outlet near windshield to connect.. But were trapped into what Bob Rohrman had at Arligton Lexus.. These do not correct their deficiencies. The ride is as if there are no shock absorbers. Will not replace $ 40.00 worth of shocks. Well pay or ignorance.
Lexus is a special Toyota
I have driven Toyotas for over forty years. The 2018 ES350 is my first Lexus. It is classy. Everything about it is premium. I am working on all the tech features. I learn something every day. I turn some things off but most I find useful. I put 300 thousand plus on my last Toyota and I am hoping for that on this Lexus.

Build quality not the best. Squeaks and rattle with lass than 60k. It's smooth, quite, and rides nice. Nicely equipped. The car is capable but boring to drive. Definitely looks dates inside now.
