Care is reciprocated
Take good care of your Rover and it will take good care of you. I have owned this vehicle for a little over three years and all Ive had to replace is the battery. The previous owner took good care of it and likewise Ive done the same. No mechanical problems, just enough power, and tenacious off-road capabilities. Ive heard that prices for parts can be expensive, but from looking at the receipts on work done, parts aren't the problem. It seems to be the labor costs that get you. If you can find a good mechanic that won't gouge you, it seems costs would be about average for a foreign vehicle. If you ever decide you want a real off-road vehicle and not a toy, this is the vehicle for you.
Luxury Plus Fun
Both this for off roading, but this thing is so much fun to drive I find myself hopping in it to go to places more often than in my newer cars. Quiet luxury, but can go anywhere!

Rover Classic
This vehicle doesnt break down more than others, it just costs 2-3 times more to fix
Will treat you well if you treat it well
This 1990 County is my second RR. The first was a P38 that, while a pleasure to drive, was absurdly prone to failures. The Classic, on the other hand, is more straightforward and a more fundamentally sound vehicle. Sure there are niggles here and there, mostly electrical, the Lucas trademark. The RR Classic has, like many of its owners, an eccentric character; fitted with a factory CD changer but no cup holders or glove box, to give an example. The styling is iconic and is either immediately recognized or elicits intrigue. These vehicles often get a bad rap, but with proper care the reliability is relatively high and the driving experience rewarding.
Urban Warrior
An excellent city car. No worries on paralell parking, this car can go over curbs and potholes like butta. Rides like no other car, most people dont care for it, but I enjoy driving a heavy car that can withstand the streets of Chicago. Reliabilty seems ok on this one, but I havent been bitten like most, too many $1000.00+ parts to worry about. Many after market parts because of this. A good idea to have a second car. Would I buy another Landrover? Definately. Would I buy another Range Rover? Probably not. Discovery II seems more practical.
