Went from Land Rover to Kia

2020 Kia Telluride S 4dr SUV AWD (3.8L 6cyl 8A)

I was looking for a 3 row SUV with a little more cargo space that was in between my Land Rover Discovery and my beast of a Suburban. I had tested several models and was really seeking the best adaptive cruise control because I suffer from plantar fasciitis and long car rides kill my leg in heavy traffic. I was about to close on a Buick Enclave, the only vehicle which checked all the boxes for me (at $52k) when I decided to take a look at a Telluride S which had just come into the local KIA dealership. They had received 3 the day prior and 2 were already spoken for. Two hours later, and with $14k saved in my pocket, I became a Telluride owner. Not only is the adaptive cruise the best that I tested, the highway assist is truly incredible. It steers around minor curves in the highway and does a fantastic job of tracking other vehicles. I'm going to take up the ukulele or something because I now need something to do on long car rides (note, you still have to keep an eye on the road, of course, and the steering wheel expects your physical input every 30 seconds, or so). We love the interior and the ride and can't wait to take it to Maine and Florida this summer. The trim level was the S, and so it doesn't have all the bells and whistles as my prior vehicle, but I believe most of that is available in the upgraded versions. But again, for me, the two critical features were the right amount of passenger and cargo space, and the Highway Assist. And on both of those marks it was an A++ and therefore a no-brainer for the price. Great job KIA.

This car is definitely a "NECK BREAKER." I have had strangers come up to me giving me compliments and asking me if it was a new model range rover. I have the Moss Green SX prestige model and I have to say, I am very very very impressed. This car is a beauty! It handles very well. I used to own a Sorento and switching to this vehicle, being a bit longer and wider was not much of an issue for me. I was able to adjust within days. This car lives up to its standards. It delivers so many safety features that other competitors such as (dodge, honda, toyota etc would charge an arm and a leg for. For me safety is #1. The lane assist, blind spot detection and the 360 camera all play a huge role in making sure that my family is safe on the road. KIA has definitely hit a grand slam with this car. If you are in the market to buy a durango, traverse, pilot, or any other suv that competes in this class, i say forget those. the TELLY is the way to go! So many great features and tech that you will be enjoying for a long time. If you decide to buy a Telluride, go for the SX prestige it is worth it!

You went from a Mercedes to a Kia?!

Yes I did! My E300 was coming off lease and I wanted something different. Previously I have owned Mercedes GL large SUV, but I am no longer in a position to spend $100G for a car. I’ll tell you this Telluride is just as nice if not nicer then the Mercedes models I’ve owned. Technology is amazing, lane tracking. Smart Cruise, etc. and styling very cool. The ventilated seats, a must in Florida, are ha=was and shoulders over my E300. Now if if I could just pry those Kia badges off, LOL!

STEER CLEAR OF KIA

Owned a brand new Telluride for 9 hours before it broke down and had to be towed back to the dealer. Haven't seen in it since (that was a month ago), and they still have no idea what's wrong with it. Yet Kia told me they won't replace it with a new one. The Telly may be a great car, but steer clear of the Kia company altogether. Worst purchase of my entire life.

Super Car. Dealers Are Gouging.

This SUV is everything everyone has said about it. I bought a 2020 SX in June 2019. I paid the MSRP less the incentives which brought the price down a couple of thousand dollars. Since it was a 2020 in early 2019 I did not mind the price. Now I see dealers who want One, Two, Three Thousand dollars over MRSP for a 2020 when the 2021 will soon be out. Gouging is not ethical in my opinion and I refuse to deal with gougers. I would like to buy one for my wife but it is not going to happen as long as dealers are taking advantage of the situation. It does not help their reputation. Of course if you have more money than brains go buy one it’s a great vehicle. For the rest of us sane people we will wait. This vehicle will only get better, I don’t know how but it will. Like everything else the competition will get better and Kia will ultimately suffer for the gouging.
