2021 sorento prestige
I love it, no problems yet, bought in 2020, I have 50,000 miles. This is my fourth KIA. This is just as nice as my BMW 7 series but less than 1/2 the price.

Wish I had done more homework
I have a Sorento 2022 SX and I wish I had never purchased this vehicle. My overall rating remains the same. The customer service at ALL STAR KIA is the worst I have ever seen in life. I have yet to receive my initial free services due to the dealer putting my scheduled days off. The initial days set are months out. I just recently had an appointment for July 8th, awaiting two months only for the dealer to call me and reschedule for August 3rd. My car is 1000 miles over the scheduled service. I was told that they have to stop service on Saturdays to catch up with the back load. Does that make logical sense. NOPE.. I called Fontana Kia and they scheduled me for Monday July 10th and I was told that I would have to pay out of pocket for the service. I called KIA corporate and was told I could ASK All Star Kia to reimburse me but there is no guarantee. I am so over this. I will never ever purchase a KIA again due to CUSTOMER SERVICE. I will update with the overall vehicle soon.

Great comfortable ride
This Kia sorento is definitely made for a family. Its very roomy and economical because it doesn't cost alot to buy. Plenty of space throughout the SUV it comes with a third row seating which allows up to 7 passengers. With the third row seats folded down it offers plenty of cargo space for getting away.

Great Value and satisfaction
My Sorento is now approaching 4 years of age with 70 thousand miles. Ir is a luxury SUV without the Luxury price tag. The interior is attractive, its quiet and rides nice. I had one issue last year with a oil pan leak which was fixed under warranty. Other then that its been great plus my KIA service manager makes sure the service is done right.

8-Track Transmission
Nice ride, leather, and beautiful radio display. Not as quite on highway as it should, it's ok. The cruise control looses speed constantly due to the 8 speed transmission. I was constantly using manual shift to gear down into 7th gear to get the speed back up to 75 on cruise control. The transmission has too much overdrive loosing power.

South Korean Swiss Army Knife
After 18,000 miles, I love my 21 Sorento EX X-Line just as much as I did when I bought it. It has the 3rd row for family trips to the zoo with Grandma - and after adding a cargo box to the roof, usable for road trips - though no one over 5’8” should spend more than an hour back there unless they’re being punished for something. With the seats down, it’s a 4 seater with tons of cargo space. This is 98% of the time for me. The turbo engine and DCT transmission pair in an attempt to offer both fuel efficiency AND speed when you want or need it, and while imperfect (the DCT is clunky in early gears and has recalls against it), it does a very good job at both - especially for the money. At 18k, I matched the Edmunds number of 22.8 mpg all time, though I have often gotten between 28-31 mpg on a 30 minute highway commute to work, and as high as 34mpg on a road trip that didn’t require the cargo box. The drive itself is confident and capable, steering is softer than I’d prefer but pleasant overall. Because it’s so fast, it often doesn’t feel like you’re driving an SUV… until you hit a turn too fast, and your wife stares daggers through your soul as you ease off the accelerator sheepishly. I love driving this car - even after 18k miles. That feeling right after you get a new car when you’re excited to have to drive it to the store.. “What we’re out of milk?! No problem, I’ll be back!” That hasn’t gone away for me… I am always happy to get behind the wheel and go. AWD has come in handy once or twice as well when we had a lot of snow. The interior is still looking great - I get so many compliments from people when they first get in it - always shocked at how nice it is. The faux wood trim is seriously some of the best I’ve seen or felt. Sound system is weak - not a KIA strong suit. It gets the job done though for most. I appreciate the tactile buttons still being around for climate control, volume, etc… though, the right side of the infotainment system is a stretch for me and I’m 6’2”. Might have been a better idea to tilt the center console like the newer Telluride does. Overall the interior has held up well - though please note: any hard touch plastic surface is prone to scratches and blemishes that are damn hard to remove. That includes everything south of the wood trim on the dash, and everything south of the padded arm rests on the doors. Also includes the back of the seats… and while I appreciate the backs being plastic (to protect), the very point of having plastic seat backs is to be able to keep them clean easily. It takes a lot of effort to get my littlies foot prints off the back of the passenger seat. Last quibble - the seats are far less comfy than the Telluride. Less padding, less leg length.. less width. They’re not uncomfortable day to day - but on longer road trips, I found myself doing a lot of adjusting and readjusting to ease the discomfort. Overall - I agree with the 8.2 score. It’s a beautiful, quick, practical vehicle that can be whatever you need or want it to be. With the included safety features, and 100,000 mile warranty, it’s got the most bang for your buck in its class. 2021 Kia Sorento EX X-Line (They only made a few hundred at end of production cycle, never marketed as available trim) 18,158 miles Mods: Window Tint to match factory, Yakima Timberland X-Bars, Thule Motion XXL Cargo Box

Just Awesome
I bought a 2021 Sorento SX Prestige used. Its comfortable, powerful, nimble looks great. I love the infotainment system- easy to learn/use. The air vents are genius. You feel the road, far from soft and cushy. Drives more like an RDX than a RX. Solid. Just awesome.

I just got it. So far, it's a really nice vehicle. I will be buying another KIA.
2021 kia sorento GARBAGE!!!
Let me start with the outside of the vehicle my black trim was faded and looked like [non-permissible content removed]. Now let me get to the serious stuff. My car stopped in the middle of the road thinking I was going to get in a wreck with NO one around. It has shut off on me because it said it couldn't read my key I had both keys with me. It has transmission problems Kia said that they reset my transmission couple weeks later it hesitates and then it goes. Lots of electrical problems I always felt like I had some light on my Dash all the time.. Of course you take it in oh we can't find anything we'll just reset it again. Thank God mine was at lease so I could give it back and not be stuck with that piece of junk. All I can say is buyers beware!!!!

Solid build quality smooth riding chariot
Incredibly smooth ride on highways. Smooth transmission, strong acceleration from standstill to operating speeds, and from low speed to cruising. Quiet demeanor. Excellent safety features and electronics, decent highway mileage. Keep reminding yourself this is a BMW in disguise. Initial release did not include seat memory which I miss but have lived without.

SX Prestige X-Line Engine Overheating (Faulty ITM)
My 2021 X-Line has been experiencing engine overheating issues recently and naturally, out of concern, I took the car to a local dealer to diagnose the cause of the issue. Long story short, the Integrated Thermal Module (ITM) is the cause of the overheating and it is NOT covered under the powertrain warranty (it would probably be covered under the 5-year/60k warranty). I attempted to contact Kia customer help about this issue and they did not offer any help regarding this issue. So now I am stuck sourcing the ITM myself and getting it installed with no assistance from Kia. Below is the part number for the ITM: 25600-2S001 In closing, I cannot recommend Kia products to the general public and I hope this issue becomes widely known and well-documented. It is clear they do not stand behind their products and do not care about their customers. Save your money and buy elsewhere.

Excellent
All these complaints about this vehicle that comes with even better warranty if your vehicle is having issues it take to dealership and use that warranty I have this in an Sx trim and yes we had some issues took to dealership and they fixed my issues yes it took some time but it was covered under the warranty and it's been trouble free ever since. So yes this is a very good vehicle and any brand vehicle you buy can and will have issues.

2022 Kia Sorento XLine (wolf grey)
Purchased this vehicle used in December 2024 (it is not June 2025) and it has been the best vehicle I have owned. I cannot believe how many 2021 Sorento's have had transmission and other issues. My 2022 Kia Sorento is amazing and no problems at all; warranty covered and replaced the discoloration of the all-around window trim, but other than that it has been the best vehicle. We also bought our daughter a used 2012 Kia Optima w/ 130,000 miles on it, no problems whatsoever. We will continue to purchase KIAs!
