Bought I. September 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. Has been in shop 7 times now. PCM replaced, heavy oil consumption and still same issues. Too many times list. Dealer just told me they can't do anymore for me and said fight it out with Jeep.

NOT SAFE TO DRIVE!

Our vehicle has multiple recurring issues with transmission shifting into 8th gear on its own while driving, dashboard shutting off randomly, driving safety features failing, and power steering failure. We have had it since July 2021 and have had issues with these problems starting Fall 2021. It only has 7000 miles driven with it. We thought we were purchasing as safe vehicle for my wife and 1 year old daughter to get around town, but now we do not feel safe with it on the road. This can be very dangerous for not only our family but other drivers on the road.

Overpriced

I leased my Grand Cherokee L Limited in late October because I needed a bigger family car with our new baby. There are more things that I dislike about the vehicle than the things I like and unfortunately I found these out afterwards. First off the heating and air conditioning system is terrible. On the lowest possible setting the fan sounds like a jet engine. Obnoxiously loud. Second the multimedia system has a mind of its own and it is schizophrenic. Somehow it never pics up my phone for music when I’m driving alone. If I’m in the car with my wife it will pick up her calls and my music and vice versa depending on the mood the car is in. More importantly and what pissed me off the most is that if you have a rear facing baby seat your front passenger will have to ride with their knees in their face because you will have to move the front seat so far forward even after moving the middle seats as far back as possible. Jeep could have also put Qi charging capability in a limited model. This is a cheap technology and should be standard but what do I know. I’ve only been selling cars 20 years. Air conditioned seats would be nice as well for $52k. Other than that the car looks great and drives like a Jeep should. Kind of a gas guzzler but if you can afford the whiskey well you can afford the ice as well.

Three weeks after purchasing the grand cherokee L, steering wheel was stuck and car left me at a parking lot at night, it was towed and was told at jeep dealer that it needed an update that did not exist. Made my third car payment before supposed update finally came out. Was about 1.5 maybe even 2 without driving the car. When it was supposedly fixed, the accelarator or abs gave me issues. Was driving and instead of speeding when i stepped on gas, it slowed down, good thing Inwasnt in the highway. Went on side of road, turned car off and on and was able to drive slowly through town to a jeep dealer who said it was abs issue after reading the error code. Left car over night and was told that while the update was being made last time, it messed up the abs. Fast forward, car was fixed and I drove off in it. 4 days later, same thing happened again. Both issues very dangerous mechanical problems, both of which could have caused very serious accidents on a highway, not to mention, there was a headlight recall that was also fixed. I must also mention that one day during a rainstorm, I was terrified because I could not see from my side view mirrors because the wilers are so big that when it pushes the rain to the left side of the car, it forms such a heavy stream of water that it completely blocks visibility. Its as if a water faucet was being poured down the mirror. This vehicle is nice looking and comfortable inside, space-wise but such a horrible car to buy. I could not encourage you enough to stay away from it!

DO NOT BUY THIS!!!!! Jeep Does Not Carr!

Windshield is flush with front pillars, causing dirty snow or muddy water to cover your driver’s side window. Making your blind spot sensor obsolete without audio. Potential accident on two occasions. My TOM TOM is really DUM DUM…. The screen shot on and off on its on. The radio power button shuts off the entire screen, making anything on the display obsolete. Navigation flickers from steering column to radio causing a safety driving conditions at night. The rear seat USB overheated the USB cord, causing smoke in the cabin. The JEEP manufacturer makes it impossible to be heard. The dealerships don’t care and keeps claiming the window is a design flaw and they cannot duplicate the others. If you want a good off road vehicle with great electronics….. look at another manufacturer cause Jeep sucks!!!! I owned a Grand Cherokee and loved it. But Jeep your quality fails substantially.

Jeep Grand Cherokee L Limited at 2 Weeks and 1K mi

My experience so far is very positive with no problems except for a malfunction of the “assist” and “SOS” buttons. The buttons worked at first and then stopped. Jeep support is working on (firmware update) it and I understand that it is a problem that many are experiencing. The vehicle is incredibly solid, quiet and smooth like no other I have ever been in. The Uconnect is very powerful and well designed. The learning curve wasn’t long at all for me. The JGCL provides exactly the kind of comfort and performance that I was looking for. I would definitely recommend this vehicle to a friend.

Grand Cherokee l limited 4x4 3 problems

My mom had purchased a 2021jeep grand Cherokee l 4x4 limited and after 3 days she realized that the seatbelt on any adjustments was right on her neck rubbing.2 weeks later she tried to unlock her car with the keyless entry and out of the blue it wouldn’t unlock. It took her 4 tries to unlock the car then she finally used the keys.Last problem so far has been the speakers. Her car is equipped with the standard limited speakers and her speakers have made a pop sound 4 times now.She has had 2 Jeep Grand Cherokees before this 2017 and 2019 altitudes and never had any problems. For her to go a step up and yes this is a completely new grand Cherokee, this shouldn't be happening for spending the extra money to go a step up.

So far so good, first few days of having my Jeep the service 4x4 light came on but it went off hasn’t come back on since. Love the new screen but the Alexa feature doesn’t work. It rides smooth and quite but for over 60 grand everything should be pristine there’s cheaper SUV’s with most of the same technology minus the hiccups!

Great design and ride; major electronic issues

Bought my Jeep Grand Cherokee L (JGCL) Overland Aug 15 2021 and dealer “bought” back with caveats on February 10, 2022. My car was towed 3 times with a completely dead battery. Battery died on the dealer while it was in getting repairs a 4th time. Electronic issues from the 1st week we owned it. Dealer / Jeep won’t buy car back but worked a “deal” they would trade in my car with incentives to get another JGCL. I’m skeptical as I feel Jeep has a serious issue with the electronics in this model of car. Where to start: 1. Rear sensors never alerted us of object behind us and when backing up hit object and scraped car. 2. Complete reset of Uconnect system while driving down highway at approximately 55 miles/hour. Car still ran but could not do anything with center console (I.e. heat, cool, radio, ) 3. No radio / non functioning many times (weekly) 4. Radio still playing when car door Opens and car is off 5. Steering wheel/power steering still working even after car is off and getting out of car (note: loaner JGCL proved by dealer does exact same thing!) (constant issue) 6. SOS, emergency response, lane assist disabled randomly, radio errors constantly (constant issue, weekly) 7. Rear electronic seat won’t go down. Had to manually push (constant issue) 8. Car completely off in driveway and sounded like the vehicle was trying to put the suspension down into parking position when it was 30 hours after the last time I drove it! Battery was dead next day 9. Key fob disconnects from car; loses memory settings(constant issue) 10. Car play won’t connect. (Constant issue) 11. Auto started my car with key fob and as always the defrost was full blast on windshield, however the defrost would only full blast or completely off while driving on an hour trip. Couldn’t regulate and comfort levels on feet, or main vents didn’t matter. Son was able to turn heat/defrost on/off from middle seats in back trying to regulate rear heat! 12. Strange noise for two concurrent days that sounded like light labers being turned on(yes, I’m serious) from under hood, engine. Sound never occurred again after these two days. 13. On one occasion my auto high beam would not turn on. 14. Middle manual captain chair broke (non electronic issue). Conclusion: Dealer doesn’t know how to fix and there reach back service to Jeep is apparently clueless. The numerous times my JGCL died, they were informed to replace rear latch sensors/rear latch. This isn’t the issue since the 3rd time it was towed both these were replaced! Dealer admitted electronic issues and unaware of what is going on and even they didn’t want the car and unaware how to fix. I’m reporting all of this to get the word out that the quality and reliability of this car is awful and as some of this may not be “safety issues” but can make life miserable like stranding a person with a dead battery (by the way battery is so dead it can’t be jumped. My 2nd tow the vehicle need dragged on tow truck since the electronic break was engaged and there was no way to get off since the battery was dead!). Us as customers are paying too much money (my MSRP was $64,000) for this over site and rush to push this vehicle out before all the software bugs are worked out. If everyone else is having these issues they should be buying back these cars so we can get a reliable vehicle to drive. I have a feeling other are having issues since the last tow truck driver said he towed 7 JGCL in one week with same issues. I don't own this car anymore. Jeep provided incentives to purchase another JGCL (this one a 2022) with almost the same about of issues. —————————————- 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L I still have today with 18k miles on it. Ironically when I got the Edmonds email to update my review the car is going in for two warranty issues 1.) key fobs unprogram themselves after being programmed. They work for 24-48 hours then the car resets all my saved setting. The strangest is the car seat either goes to the furthest far back position or the top most position it can go in the car. 2. The adjustable steering column is electronic and doesn’t work at all. All-in-all, my 2022 is not as severe of issues as my 2021. It does appear some of the other things have been fix mentioned above. However I still have not hit a break even point of what my down payment was in this car due to its major depreciation in value each year. Once warranty is out I’m getting rid of and moving to another brand.

I just purchased this vehicle 2 weeks ago. I have had several Grand Cherokees. This drives alot smother and the V6 has plenty of power. However, not sure what is going on with mine, everytime I come to a stop the seat vibrates. Feels like it is coming from the downshift. Not ok for a 52k vehicle. Feels like I have my phone on vibrate and it goes off. Taking it in to have someone test drive this week. :(

While we loved the car, it didn't take long to see problems. The service 4WD light came on and after a couple times to the dealership was fixed. There were glitches in the electronics that came and went, and the last straw was the hood came unlatched while my wife was driving it down the road. I have already traded the car off for something else. When you buy a new car, you expect trouble free transportation for at lease a while before normal maintenance starts. I loved the car, but it was riddled with annoying problems that had me back at the dealership too often for me to tolerate.

Purchased the GC in early December 2021 and have around 6400 miles on clock by the end of February. It’s a summit reserve model with 5.7 Hemi . Fit and finish is top notch. All the switches are within easy reach. Air suspension works wonderfully. I ran into air conditioning issues in early January. It simply won’t lower the temperature and was just blowing hotter air. At the same time warning chime decided to go off. It wold stay on all the time and no amount of stopping and resetting the engine would fix it. My selling dealer couldn’t fix the issue. I contacted Jeep concierge service and they were able to get me an appointment at another area dealership. ( I had to wait 5 days for the appointment). A day later, problem was fixed. I was told that there was barely any Freon in the system ( I guess factory forgot to add it). Chime issues were fixed by replacing some relays in the door. It’s been trouble free in driving. Every time when I stop the jeep and turn engine off I a notification in the Uconnect screen to check “back seat “. I guess that will be another trip to dealership in near future I don’t have a heavy foot on gas and have seen around 18-19 mpg on all highway and around 14 mpg in local driving. Overall i am very happy with the purchase So now it’s end of August ‘22 and I have litter over 22k miles on the odometer. Have had Two oil changes and tires rotated at local dealership. Zero cost to me. I occasionally see hiccups with Uconnect system, it’s got a mind on his own to go into updating modes. In recent days I am getting a message to visit dealership for an update. I am looking into purchasing the extended warranty from Mopar. Suv works wonderfully, has one of the best driving positions and I am completely satisfied with the experience. If you’re in the market for one, Pls consider 5.7 engine vs 3.6. They are worlds apart in performance and refinement. Yeah fuel mileage is little worst but the joy of driving 5.7 is far greater.

I bought my 2021 Overland in July of last year, exactly 90 days into owning it, the drive shaft broke off of it. This was after having it in the shop twice since purchasing for the irregular/hard shifting that still has not been fixed to this day. Fast forward to mid Oct when I finally got my vehicle back out of the shop for the drive shaft repair, it has not driven right since. It shakes at higher speeds, (it’s been balanced, tires rotated, alignment… everything they try to tell you is the issue but it’s not fixing the problem) the infotainment center screen goes black, the volume won’t work at times, it won’t recognize your phone when plugged into a USB port, the night vision goes off for no apparent reason, amongst numerous other things! Jan 3rd, I took it back in and demanded it be checked again and they tell me the transfer case is bad. They had it for 25 days! Needless to say, it still shakes at high speeds. The dealership told me it was a drone noise. They aren’t sure how to fix it without having the car left with them, yet they don’t have any loaners available and I’m unable to leave it since I won’t have a vehicle to drive back and forth to work. I’ve contacted Jeep about the Lemon law, they of course refuse to buy it back. I got nowhere with the dealership as they were willing to trade it in for me, but I’d eat anything that rolled over onto another vehicle because I’ve had this one less than a year. I was told by the dealership they had delayed getting these out by 6 months because of issues, but went ahead and put them on the market anyways. I will never purchase another Jeep. Ever!

The only reason that I gave this vehicle 1 Star is because I actually love the design and functionality. I have less than 3000 miles on my Jeep and it has been in for repairs a minimum of 10 times. The Lemon Law applies so it will be purchased back. My recommendation wait until they work out the issues.

I have loved jeeps my whole life. I had a grand Cherokee summit and went through not one but 3 v8 engines before calling it quits. Due to my trust internet he company to evolve and educate themselves on their known issues I went and bought the new L. The car lasted 1,776 miles before becoming dead in the water at an intersection. This was the second jeep L the tow company picked up in my small town this week for the cars magically failing in the middle of being driven. I have had issues with the entertainment center turning off mid use, backup camera not coming on and automatic High beams refusing to turn on, when on back roads or any road in fact. I have had my car for two months and this will be the last jeep I ever purchase after being a life long supporter and costumer.

V6 is weak and efficiency is about the same and the V-6 Ecoboost Ford Expedition. The Ford is much more powerful but the Jeep GCL in the Overland trim has a much nicer interior and better ride and handling qualities than the Expedition XLT that we traded out of.

We bought the Grand Cherokee L Limited in November 2021. It has 6,230 miles. As of this date been in dealership shop 7 times and another one scheduled. ALL problems are associated with the electronics (UConnect) and software. The most severe failure has been the electronic power steering assist feature that disabled the power steering. Fortunately I was at the wheel. The techs who work on it are very qualified but the support they are getting from Jeep is minimal. I have multiple Jeep case numbers (files) in place but they are worthless support contacts and want to close them when the issues aren’t resolved. Is it a lemon? I think so. When a vehicle cost $55K it must be trouble free. It is primarily my wife’s vehicle and she is becoming afraid of it. It’s time to move on and get something reliable and SAFE.

With less than 3k miles my power steering decides to just stop working. I will go out in the morning to take kids to school and have no power steering. The car is headed back into the shop on Friday for the 3rd time for this issue. It randomly just goes out, over 10 times total now. It will work for a week then just not. How can i safely transport my children on a highway doing 70 with no power steering? My phone won't connect some days, the screen freezes up making climate control inoperable, as well as radio and hands free calling. I get errors saying the Emergency calling is unavailable. It is a total waste of money. I got this car, in hopes of getting the Waggoner 6 months later when my husbands lease is up, absolutely not now! I am most thankful that this Is just a lease so I'm only stuck for 36 months, which is 36 too long.

This is my 3 rd Grand Cherokee, we decided to go with the L for the third row. I hate it. The distain for this vehicle is almost indescribable. Electronics fail, 2 recalls, I've called support about the unconnect twice they said they have a lot of complaints. The fan is almost deafening. The electronics start then restart, the left speaker does not work. The headliner is coming off. The front right window panel has bent. There is a tick tick tick when you listen to anything over the speakers. I have to just turn off the radio at this point. The acceleration was slow until I got that fixed not sure what that problem was but they fixed it. This car is a lemon an absolute disgrace I wanted to return it after 2 weeks. Not an upgrade for us. I've wanted a different car ever since. I'm afraid it will leave me stranded with the unreliability.

I purchased this vehicle in October 2021. Within a week of having the vehicle issues started popping up. Transmission clunk shifted from 1st to 2nd and the entire radio system was not working properly. Memory settings would not hold, etc... Contacted the dealer, brought it in 2 days later get it back.... NOTHING was fixed. Was told they are waiting on " direction from Corporate as this appears to be a widespread issue. a couple weeks later, nothing was fixed and more issues popped up, and the hits have just kept coming. Back window would not close all the way, if it hit the top it automatically came back down. Start the vehicle and the entire radio and dash are black.... nothing... only thing that would show up is when I used the blinkers.... the indicaters would show up..... This vehicle has been back to the dealership several times. We have been in contact with corporate ourselves and they have been less than helpful. They declined a lemon law buyback and told us that we can take it to a different dealership for them to look at and we would have to pay for a RENTAL vehicle at $106 PER DAY.... so needless to say I am NOT a fan JEEP right now.

I bought a 2021 Jeep grand cherokee l summit reserve because I felt that I needed more room when traveling and when I run errands. Unfortunately I got one in the wrong color, one with no carpets, one with the start stop not working. Leather had cracking in a hard to spot area where the color changing light are. For the past three and a half months my car has been in the shop and I am overseas with the military and I have received no real help from jeep or apology since I bought it new from military auto source. There authorized dealer had no idea on how to fix the problem. I never spoke with jeep or sallantis. They pushed the cars out to out due ford and competition, only to let there customers down.

I’m just under 7k miles and have had: Power steering completely go out once (made a case with jeep wave but never happened again) Infotainment system had errors that took two separate trips to dealership. Ac completely stopped working twice (first time dealership put Freon in- second time is still pending) Love the vehicle when it works- at what point does it become a lemon?

The L looks good and is very comfortable but the bad far outweighs the good. I'm not going to bother typing all the issues as others have covered everything that went wrong. With the exception of the parking brake engaging and not releasing with every light on the dash lit up. It's been in and out of the dealership many times and is still not safe to drive. Chrysler won't do anything about any of it. Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge/starlantis or whatever they call themselves these days should be ashamed to sell a vehicle like this to anyone. Right now the dealership has given us a lowball offer to buy it back but we have contacted a lemon law lawyer. It is the 3rd new vehicle we've bought in just over 2 years. 2 of those were Jeeps. It will be the last. Update We settled with FCA for $15,000 and kept the vehicle. We then promptly traded it in for a non FCA vehicle. Of course the lawyer got nearly half of that and we could have pushed to have FCA take the vehicle back. But that process could have taken up to a year and we could have lost. When all was said and done we did lose money overall, but it could have been worse. The trade value on the L has dropped like a rock and continues to do so. It was a $52,000 vehicle brand new and we got $36,000 on trade with it being 1 year old and only 15,000 miles. In comparison I recently trade in a 1 year old F150 with over 40,000 miles and got $2,000 more trade in. We paid less for the 150 new than the L...

I have had the car for over two years and am presently waiting for a part that has been on backorder for over a month. Previously, it took over a month for a part to get to the dealer. It happens too often; as soon as I build up more equity, I will trade it in and never buy a Jeep again. I have been a Jeep owner for about 30 years.

We bought our Grand Cherokee L in the fall of 2021. Pros: nice interior fit and finish, great sound system, and tons of room. Cons: The annoying whistle from the rear view mirrors is real. Hope you don’t like driving with the windows down. Two years and 25,000 miles in - the car left us stranded on a road trip. Error message galore on the dash and no power steering. We had it towed to the nearest Jeep dealership - hopefully never to be seen again. I have more faith in my 8 year old 100,000 mile 4Runner to safely transport my family.

Sorry Jeep, I had high hopes for the Grand Cherokee L and the new Waggoneer. So we went to the dealer yesterday and checked it out. Simply couldn't believe how uninspired we were. Comfy seats, but aside from that, boring, plain and cheap looking interior. In Jeeps defense, they'd probably say yes but it's a Jeep, its supposed to have a "utility" look to it. Ok fine, but Jeep pushes these models as being high end and luxurious. Really, for $55K that's what's you call luxurious? Cheap plastics and boring design? Check out the Ford Expedition XLT, Acura MDX, Lexus, etc in comparison. For the same price you're getting twice the vehicle. Sorry Jeep, disappointing.

Purchased my Grand Cherokee L Limited with all upmarket options in August 2021 when the first models arrived and have 3800 miles on it. What a great road trip and off road hunting vehicle. So quiet and smooth on the road and carries all the gear needed for the outdoors. Mud, rocks, trails, no problem! Clean it up when I get home and can go anywhere in town looking a lot more stylish than most all of the competitor SUV's. Have the 3.6L Pentastar engine which is has plenty of tourque for most drivers and is so smooth. I put 189,000 miles in 9 years on my last Pentastar in a Dodge Durango without any repairs other than oil changes and will look to repeat that on my new GCL. Had one chip issue in the first month which drained the battery. Took it to the dealership, they gave me a GCL loaner, got the chip in, and have not had a single issue since.

In the past 6 weeks since buying this brand new vehicle it has been in the shop 5 times. First the radio and Bluetooth wouldn't work, then the 3rd row handle broke off, as I was driving the power steering stopped working, and top it off on a sunny day as snow was melting, water started pouring in through my passenger side visor connection. Jeep last year has removed all returns, trade-ins, and buy-backs from their contracts so they have no responsibility no matter what happens to your vehicle. On top of the 4 recalls already.

Was so excited..loved its look, but soon we were having trouble with lane departure..took it they hooked up was throwing no codes..then next mth started the recalls..one for headlighr..headlight.. for air bags..then my radio started freezing making me lose my GPS at most terrible times..I had to reset radio all the time..then lane departure AGAIN..only had 3200 miles on it..called jeep to do buy back and took them 3 weeks to get back in touch with me..by then I got frustrated enough that I took a beating and traded it in for 2022 dodge durango (my 4th and not due to having problems) gt plus..couldn't be happier and finally feel confident I can go where I need without something else happening..I had the 2021 jeep Laredo altitude gcl..2nd bad experience with a jeep..can say I'm done with jeep all together

I purchased my grand cherokee L in October 2021 with 7 miles on it. That first week I had it home the 4x4 service light came on followed by the forward collision sensor light. I took it in they couldn't find what was wrong with it but "made note of it" and I was to bring it back if it happened again. Two months later same lights come on plus the blind spot monitor light. It happened to snow that previous night so I found out that it wasn't just the light coming on, my 4x4 system stopped working. I called it in and the earliest the dealership could see me was 2 weeks away. So I went to the other jeep place in town and they got it in same day but the lights had cleared already and there was nothing they could see wrong. Plus they addressed the recall I had on it. Two more months go by and I'm taking it in for the first oil change and I mentioned the driver doors passive unlock would sometimes not work so they take a look but find nothing. I'm literally rolling out of the garage when 6 new warning lights pop up one of those being the brake light. Because the garage door had closed I had to drive around the block back to the entrance. On the drive around it felt like the parking brake was on and no matter how many times I tried to release it nothing happened. They keep it overnight and determine nothing was wrong because once again they cannot see any codes showing issues when they hook it up. Even though we can all clearly see the lights on the dash. Somehow it resets and everything is fine. I was instructed to take it in immediately if any lights came on or at the very least go to an auto zone to have the code read so they could see what was happening. Cause seeing the actual lights on in person wasn't working.welp today Colorado decided to flip its personality switch in a day and went from 87 one day to 32 the next and I'm driving home using my wipers when *ding*ding*ding I have the forward collision light flashing and the auto sensing wiper warning light come one. I love the vehicle and loved my grand cherokee before this one but I'm over these lights.

Background: I leased a Telluride for 3 years and sold it back to the dealer for cash and figured I'd try the GCL. Before that I had a 2016 Highlander so I am pretty familiar with the mid-size SUV segment. If you LOVE the car, go for it. But just know that there are a few things with this vehicle that drove me absolutely crazy. First, the good: -Styling is amazing. I think its the best looking Mid-Size SUV -Seems like you can get these well under MSRP at the moment. I got mine about 5k under sticker. -RWD does make this SEEM a little bit more fun to drive than the competition -Backseat camera is a cool feature if you have young kids -3rd row is a decent size The not so good: -Infotainment looks nice but is not intuitive. The NAV works well, but selecting media is not great. For example, I don't think you are able to track backwards to a radio (FM/AM/XM) station, only forward. The up/down button on the back of the steering wheel for radio control the Seek Up/Down function so it goes to the next station in the band. There is a middle button you push to go to the next preset, but again, no backwards. Also had a lot of issues switching between media types (CarPlay, XM, Bluetooth, etc.) -If you or anyone in the passenger seat is tall (over 6 feet) AND you have a rear facing car seat in the second row, your font row seating may be a bit limited. -Because these come in either RWD or AWD, there is a sizeable bump in the middle of the floorboard for the second row. Whenever my wife wanted to sit between the kids she complained it was much less comfortable for her legs. Hip room in the second row is narrower that Telluride as well. -May seem like a weird one...but the rear view mirror. First of all, its not auto-dimming? For a car with a sticker of 50K+ this should be standard. It's also very small and narrow. I ended up getting one of those wider POV clip on mirrors to help with visibility. Finally, the bad: -The exterior size to interior space ratio of the car is ridiculous IMO. Coming from the Telluride, which is like a cavern inside, the GCL seems cramped. But if you are coming from a smaller vehicle, that probably won't be as noticeable. If it were the size of the Telluride it wouldn't be that bad, but its like 8 inches longer on the exterior! -Fuel Economy. Going into purchasing the Jeep I saw reviews of the gas mileage not being great but I am usually pretty gentle on the accelerator and I thought I could easily get around 19 or 20 combined MPG (the rating is 21). Turns out I am only getting about 17 MPG and that includes driving my kids to school in the morning primarily on the highway. For comparison in my FWD 2020 Telluride, I was getting about 22 MPG. I think the age of engine, tuning of software/transmission and overall vehicle weight really hurt the Jeep here. -The AC system. 3 main issues. First, the fan that circulates air seems incredibly weak. On its highest setting it feels like the halfway point for other cars I've owned. Second, the fan that blows air for the second and third row is separate from the one for the first row, I believe. And it is very loud. You could have the front row on the the first blower setting and the rear on the mid setting and it founds like a jet engine spinning up. Very annoying. Finally, AC vent placement. No ceiling vents for the rear isn't always bad. In the case of the GCL, they are in the rear pillars of the vehicle (2nd and 3rd row) and the there are two vents at the rear of the center console. But when paired with how weak the fans are...my kids were always so hot when pulling them out of the car. So if you live in Florida like me, may want to look for a car with better AC. Summary: This car has so much potential. I think I let the looks of this car as well as the fact that so many people swear by their Grand Cherokees, cloud my judgement. Definitely take this thing for an extended test drive. And I don't mean like 30 minutes. Drive it for several hours. I foolishly didn't do that this time. If you are coming from a sedan or smaller SUV, you probably won't care much about the size issues of this car unless you miss driving a more nimble vehicle. But if you are coming from a mid size SUV like the Telluride, Palisade, Pilot or Highlander, I think you are going to notice the difference. The looks definitely impress and admittedly it does feel more luxurious on the inside than the cars noted above, but you can definitely find more space efficient, fuel efficient and easier to drive vehicles than the GCL. I'm actually turning mine back in for a new Palisade very soon. Hope this helps anyone on the fence about buying!

I own a 2021 Jeep overland (preowned)and the day I took it home it started with transmission issues which have not been fixed. Shuddering between 1st and 2nd gear caused it to be in the shop twice, the second time they replaced the valve body but it still feels so forced when it shifts. When it downshifts from 5th to 4th it pulls itself back almost, revs really high and then it shifts. It’s been a terrible experience. It’s nice to look at and it has all the bells and whistles but not worth 60k.

I bought my Grand Cherokee L new in September 2021 and have had significant issues with my battery and warning lights. I’m continually having to jump it off. I get warning lights on the regular about the brakes, the auto off/on, the lights, etc. This week, I’ve had to jump it 4 times, at minimum. Sunday night my wipers came on and although the switch was OFF and wouldn’t turn off. I’ve tried to get service for it multiple times and can’t get an appointment because they are all “booked out weeks or months in advance”. Frankly, I fully regret buying this thing and wish I had kept my Toyota Highlander.

There has been about (5)RECALLS on this vehicle and (1) the tail lamps they don't have a fix for it. Literally about 20 issues with electronics and engine transmission stuff. I've been driving rental cars for the past year. The vehicle looks beautiful that's it. Drives nice when it works but it's rare and inconsistent. I'm doing a LEMON LAW buyback it's that bad so this will be over with soon thankfully. It's unsafe to drive my children in this. So many lemon's on this car I could make lemonade. This car is seriously unsafe, I have a Jeep L overland with all the technology and all the problems. Knocking sounds from under vehicle, motor mounts replaced. Everything from air suspension issues, service 4wd, service stability control traction control alerts. Blind spot monitor issues. Mostly every electronic that could malfunction has and still is. The more the dealership tries to tinker with something the more issues it has. Vehicle didn't start off with all this, it progressed over month after month another issue on top of another. They say the same thing can't duplicate the issues. Yeah but I have proof video footage. This vehicle is unsafe

Love my Jeep. I have owned several different vehicles in the past and this is my favorite.

Nice SUV in many ways except for the excessive noise coming from the tires, windows, sun roof. The dealer is hard of hearing, so sad.

We are a Jeep family, well at least we were. I have a 2003 Jeep Wrangler, no bells and whistles, love it! Had a 2007 Jeep Commander, loved it, 15 years and 164000 miles on it, next to no issues. Well, we bought a 2021 Jeep Cherokee L to replace the Commander, nothing but issues. 14000 miles and 14 months later I have had it to the dealership a half dozen times. Had the front emergency brake thing happen twice, once almost causing me to be rear ended, scary. Radio/screen issues, screen would freeze, go black and become inoperable, great, especially when on a trip and using the maps for directions. Screen still flickers even after dealership "updated" the computer. Had a "Service 4WD" warning light come on the dash, took it in and they had to replace the Transfer case. Now, clunking sound in front end, 4WD doesn't work when needed and my wife and daughter were stranded in a dark parking lot after she couldn't engage the car into drive. I had to leave work to attempt to get it into drive so they could get home. Car taken to dealership, again, and no codes found and they were unable to replicate these issues. Laundry list of issues and "nothing" can be done. What a joke, I have wasted so much time and money on fuel driving back and forth to the dealership only to get no results. I get it's not necessarily the dealerships fault, Amazing people there trying to resolve my issues, but how the car was built and is functioning is not their fault. Actually sitting in the dealership as I type this waiting to start a case file with Jeep. Called customer service once, with the dealership manager, and without any warning the rep we were speaking to transferred us to a survey. What?!? So glad that happened to the branch manager. Then talked to second rep and she states their "system" was down and that I needed to call back in an hour, BUT, the car needed to be at the dealership in order to start the claim. Sitting here exhausted from working a 24 hour shift as a first responder so I can hope Jeep's system is up when I call back. What ever happened to customer service??? We don't feel safe in the vehicle, and when I leave with the car we will just be waiting for the "next" issue to arise, praying it doesn't cause harm to me or my family. Not feeling safe in this car.
