Wonderful car.
I've only had the car for a month. So my review will be limited to initial impressions. Looks. The car is stunning. I've never had a car that people stop and take pictures of when it's parked. And I've owned some VERY nice sports cars. Sound. The car sounds incredible, especially in dynamic mode with the exhaust in loud. i've always thought Porsche flat-6s sounded the best, but the Jag is darn close. Handling. I'm still getting used to the car, haven't really played around with it with the stability control off. But it has minimal body roll, and very linear (if touchy in dynamic mode) throttle response. It throttle steers well in corners. Power is adequate. Book says 0-60 in a smidge under 5 seconds, and that feels about right. Yes, a new base boxster will about match it for less (I test drove one), but who wants to listen to a Subaru soundtrack. Turn in isn't as quick as my old Boxster, no surprise, but it isn't bad. As good or better than a Z4M Coupe. Braking is nothing short of incredible. I have the performance braking package, and while a bit touchy, stops are extremely short and consistent. Jaguar obviously uses a very soft "track" pad, as even a short drive will coat the wheels with brake dust. Which I'm sure means shorter replacement intervals. Ride. Actually not too bad. My car has the 20" Carbon Fiber wheels (they are really aluminum with some attached CF accent pieces), but it still rides tolerably, I commute 110 miles to a client site twice a month, and the trip is easy and comfortable. (Bear in mind I've owned sports cars my entire life, so my opinion of "comfortable" and yours might differ:)). Visibility. OK, here I need to deduct points. The door sills are high, so it is difficult to see curbs when turning and parking (I leave plenty of room) and resting you arm on the door sill leaves it at an odd angle. The nose is long, and I would HIGHLY recommend the package with the parking assist. I don't need the backup camera as much, but the front sensors for pulling forward are a godsend. Overall visibility really isn't that bad (better than a new corvette in my pinion). Just the price you pay for form over function. Storage space. a glove compartment, arm rest compartment, and open cubby are what you get up front. Generally all I need, but the rear compartment is rather small, there is a little area that is deeper, but you really are going to have issues with more than a few soft suitcases. Technology. Oodles. As expected, it has pretty much everything you could want. An awesome sound system, loads of customization for car systems, very good blue tooth integration, you can adjust the side bolsters in the seats (Ok, not really tech, but it is very cool), etc. The navigation system is not very intuitive though. Read the manual before you jump in and try to program in a destination. You're welcome. Reliability. No problems to date. There is an annoying buzz/rattle in the right rear, which might just be the cover for the storage area, I haven't located it yet. But other than that, nothing of note. Anyway, I'd highly recommend the F-Type. Yes, you can buy cars that perform better for less. But unless you're tracking the car (and driving for track times) you'll never notice the few tenths of a second here and there. You get a stunning car, that sounds incredible, and is a blast to drive. And you won't constantly pass yourself, as you will if you buy a Porsche, Corvette, etc.

Bad Kitty!
Update to prior review: My F-Type was involved in, what I consider, a minor rear-ending. It took a less-than 30 MPH bunt to the dead center of the rear bumper. The bumper wound up with a visible crease down the middle, and the trunk lid, being made mainly of fiberglass, essentially crumbled. Original estimate for repair was around $6K USD. However, the dealer-authorized repair facility was concerned the price for repair could go higher, because "...it's a convertible..." They wanted to have their special team remove most of the rear hardware and "bench" the car on a device that, apparently rare in the U.S., will indicate if the car had suffered a structural loss. According to the F-Type experts (and, I'm not being facetious or critical of them), the car, because it was a convertible, "bucked" on impact, essentially destroying the car. Price tag to repair "if possible" was not pushing $40K USD. My insurance adjuster's discussion with me included parts of the conversation with the repair facility, including, but not limited to, "...parts are not possible to get...," and, "...structurally, it's a total loss." Apparently, the convertible is something of a weakling on impact. So, when I rec'v the settlement check, I'm going to research available F-Type coupes from model year 2017, then acquire one. My previous opinions of the car haven't changed. It's gorgeous, a blast to drive and better than therapy. Just not getting another dangerous convertible. FYI - It had just crossed 6,000 miles on the odometer. Makes you want to cry... Be ready for a LOT of attention from on-lookers! Not always welcome, though (LOL!)... As another reviewer has conveyed, we've had people: walk up to the car and pose with it; hang out windows of moving vehicles "cat calling" and waving frantically; try to goad us into impromptu races; drive around us, taking moving pictures; etc. The car is super sexy, accelerates like a rocket, handles like a dream, stops on a dime, and has the Voice of God!! Other car buffs have actually asked us to start the engine just so they can hear what they've read about. And, let's face it, Ain't nothin' like a Racing Red, top-down Jag on a beautiful day!! Get one and you can fire your therapist!!!!

Jaguar F-Type R Rules the road
It has a very small trunk. If you want to drive yourself and two others, don't get this car. It accelerates like a supercar and gets the same type of MPGs (low). It is a blast to drive, even if to the grocery store - remember small trunk means not a lot of groceries. Otherwise, I bought in September from a dealer that was closed most of the month due top hurricanes, so I got the best deal of my life. I have to watch it like a hawk, because my wife want to drive it and more than once she got out of the house before I did and it was gone, gone, gone. Its just that much fun to drive and the styling is the best Jaguar has done since the E-Type. So far, everything works, no problems with reliability. Not really impressed with the 9 speaker audio system, it kind of rattles, but who cares, turn on the by-pass for the mufflers and music is made the natural way - with a big powerful supercharged V-8.

A dream car - with a stick no less!
Best review I can think of: Driving the other day and this 20 something year old in a Nissan Altima is taking pictures of my car. He is racing ahead, then holding back, then right next to me. At a traffic light, he pulls up next to me and rolls down his window. He apologizes for making an idiot of himself with the photos, but just wants me to know that when he gets home, he is posting the pictures of my car on his Facebook site with the intended caption stating that 'this is my dream car". That is what it is like to drive a Jaguar F-Type. Oh, and did I mention it has a manual transmission? The color, the wheels, the styling, the butterly smooth action and positive engagement of the clutch and stick...I could go on and on... Two years and 17,500 miles later, my opinion on this car has not changed one bit. I am still head over heals in love with it. I am however, sorry to report that Jaguar has eliminated the manual transmission option for 2020. Oh well, looks like I will be purchasing my leased car next year. If you can find one, buy one! December - 2019: I have 23,000 miles on the car and have extended my lease. The original (summer type performance) tires lasted 20,500 miles and were recently replaced with a set of Continental Extreme Contact DWS06 tires which are giving me a much more comfortable ride, and much help with a recent 1" snow fall accumulation. Gas mileage is still stellar at 25mpg. I am proud to report that besides (no-charge) factory service, there have been absolutely no issues with this vehicle. Not one single problem - no warranty claims what-so-ever. Still love it as much as the day I drove it home.

Born to be wild
Now with my car for over a year I can tell you I would never get another car. The ride in the sun with the top down never gets old and the looks and comments I get are nothing but spectacular. I wanted to step up from my Mustang and I found it was not a step up but a freaking leap! Every step on the pedal is outrageously wonderful. Most beautiful car on the road!

Best sportscar in the world - bar none
The F-Type is ferociously fast, with the RWD versions being the best handling and the most fun. The interior is pure luxury, I could sleep in it. The exaust note sounds far more exotic than bland Ferraris and Lamborghines, which have an annoying a high pitched zing zing sound. This Jag ROARS 5x as loud with gorgeous hollow harmonies that rise to the most intense rumbling and thunderous howl in automotive history. The car is legendary. 10/10, 100/100, whatever the scale, max it out. I love this car. Perfect reliability so far and best in class CPO Jag warranty of 7 years, 100K miles.

STILL DRIVING MY DREAM CAR
It takes a while to get into the car because you can't help but stare at how beautiful it is. The lines of this car are stunning. The most fun part is driving it every day, and the sound of the engine is intoxicating.

Worst new car experience in 40 years.
My jag is a lemon. Engine stalls out and dies in eco mode. Transmission goes into park, dash lights go out and the engine stops. No diagnosis, no fix, no clue. Wiring issue disables SRS system, exhaust, passenger seat, windshield wipers. Vapor lock and fueling problem. The car doesn't recognize its own key. Oh, and the trip odometer has more mileage than the actual vehicle odometer....WHAT?! I've had the car five months and it's been in service for a total of 7 weeks, and I am still having problems with the engine stalling out. I only have one key. And I'm waiting to find out if Jaguar will replace my 2017 F-Type S convertible with a new, identical, one.

Jag F-Type
This car is amazing to drive. Each time you get in the car, you feel like the Pilot of an F15 Fighter Jet. Putting the car into Dynamic Mode when entering a highway sounds like a Jet taking off with Active Sport Exhaust on. AWD really enables the car to perform at a high level on wet roads. This is a smart car with Vision package, a little car symbol on the corner of your mirrors lights up when another car is in the nearby lane (prevents any missed blindspots by the driver). The car has automatic rain sensors and puts the wipers on at the appropriate speed of the rainfall. It also has Auto headlights. The car will activate the high beams when needed and senses oncoming traffic from a good distance and shuts them off until the car passes and they are immediate turned back on. Very impressive. Not to mention, this is a very unique car with very few on the road. You will get many, many looks of awe and wonder. People will approach you and want to talk about the car.

American Muscle Car in a Hugo Boss suit
I've owned it for over a year, bought it pre-owned with 290 miles, $40k less than MSRP, and now have over 6,000. All miles are very hard "fun to drive" miles thru canyon roads and track days in Arizona. Although on the heavier side for its category (3750lbs), the SVR performs extremely well for a GT car, its actually more "sports car". Performance is exceptional especially with the AWD. Instant power delivery, fantastic grip, good for sub 3.5 sec 0-60 and qtr mile times consistently 11.4 sec. Interior is gorgeous with the diamond stitching and has proven to be very comfortable for my 5'8" 180lb frame over 6 hr, several hundred mile drives. Infotainment...to drivers like me, that's secondary. It does everything I need from Bluetooth music/phone and other controls. Perhaps dated software compared to others in the category but certainly not what I bought the car for. The real infotainment is the drive-train. Reliability has been a non-issue. Again, 6k hard miles with zero problems. Very satisfied with the SVR, and still in love with the looks everyday.

A lemon or a Jag? What's the difference?
This car was the biggest disappointment out of any car my wife and I have ever had. It looks great and drives good but we never get to drive it. Rather than that spend our time calling and leaving messages to various people at Jaguar NA and the dealer to check on repair status with no success whatsoever. The car is on its 5th visit to the dealer's service department and every visit is for more than a week. we leased the car less than 4 months ago and it's been nothing but problems. Water leaks, strange smells, check engine light on all the time, reduced performance issues, malfunctioned gas pedal. You can tell they invested the money in making the car look good but underneath that pretty skin it is a terrible turd. Between my wife and I we've had more than 10 BMW products and neither one of them has come anywhere close having problems like this. On top of that Jaguar NA would not return my phone calls - total lack of customer service. Stay away - buy Japanese or German.

3rd Jaguar F-Type with zero problems!
3rd Jaguar F-Type, 1st was a red 2015 R coupe, then a 2017 SVR coupe and now a 2020 SVR coupe! Wife and I drive all over the country, amazingly comfortable, fast, reliable and fun! Full glass roof is actually the first sunroof you can look out and see the sun from the driver and passenger seats. AWD in SVRs keeps it n the road as I drive it like it's stolen. Zero reliability issues!
So far so good.
Update. Loved the car. Comfortable, fast, and plenty of room for reasonable people. However.... Coolant leak. Not the Big One that people on the forums talk about, but big enough. Tow truck, expensive repair, etc. Problem fixed, but a never ending smell of coolant that never quite went away. Doors that I could open in freezing weather, but would then freeze shut once I was in the car. Parking brake that would also, sporadically, freeze. Interior leather trim on driver's door armrest that started to come off. Local upholstery guy was more than willing to fix it, but it wasn't going to be cheap. The above in conjunction with Jaguar essentially abandoning it's ICE line made me leery of getting parts in the future, and resulted in me getting rid of the car. It's been over a year and I still miss the car..........just not the problems. 3000 miles in and so far so good. Random points: 1. I'm 6'2/250 with 20% body fat. I fit in the car just fine. If you are old or have mobility issues, getting in and out might be a challenge. If you are much bigger than I take a test drive and at least one test "sit." 2. I have the base model and it is still a lot of car. It would be easy to get in trouble with this car. Drive this car actively and attentively....not passively. 3. Visibility is not great; proper mirror set up and seat position is the key here. 4. Ground clearance, generally, is fine. Ground clearance with a passenger is definitely altered. Something to consider depending on where/how you drive. 5. I'm an introvert. This car attracts outrageous amounts of attention. Outrageous. 6. Overall mpg for me is 30mpg. I don't drive like an animal. 7. Trunk is pretty good. I know everyone needs to haul 50 yds of mulch every day but the trunk is perfectly adequate for grocery runs. 8. If you are new to Jaguar, be prepared for an awful dealer experience. That's just how it is.

This is a great car
A couple of months ago I bought what was, I think, the last new 2018 F Type R Coupe in America. It's a great car. It's beautiful, has outrageous performance and you don't see one every 10 seconds, like you do with 911's.

Lies and damn lies
12/20/22 I must admit being a bit leery after decades of anti Jaguar propaganda. I am 100% pleased as of this day. Whereas my MB sports car and those of my friends were quite problematic. It seemed as if the MBs had been assembled in China.

Looks great, feels majestic, and sounds Awesome!!!
I loved this vehicle from the moment I layed eyes on it. It was not too flashy but unlike all the other vehicles on the road. When you ride in it you smile and a enjoy being on the road. I've never experienced that feeling in another vehicle. From the wrap around leather seat, the suede steering wheel, and the rumble of that twin turbo V-8 engine. It is incredible!!!

2019 great car ruined by not testing in sunshine
The 2019 I ordered was to have been my 6th Jag Convertible ... and my 5th car, a 2016 F Type is magnificently nimble, quick and marvelous. Simply a "Wonder car" for a real driver. But the 2016 infotainment is grotesquely difficult to use ... especially when driving. There is no way to set up a pattern for radio stations ... and it is a pain to have to switch from Satellite radio band to AM band, Fm or the like ... far too complex when you need to keep your eyes on the road. Suggest you observe the Cadillac CUE system for one that really works well. So I ordered a 2019 F Type convertible ... an exact copy of the 2016 car thinking they had to have fixed the problem. When the 2019 arrived, I dropped the top, pulled it out into the sunshine and the infotainment display turned BED SHEET WHITE and became completely unreadable. Easy to fix ... nothing but a "too low" setting of the color saturation and contrast for the screen. Jaguar, in spite of it obviously being a software problem, replaced the display... and guess what? ... same problem. Why don't they listen? So I refused to buy the 2019 car and walked away. So awfully Sad.

I would highly recommend this car to anyone who wants a luxury sports car. We love to drive it and always have fun. Cons<>You cannot add CarPlay unless you live in Great Britain. The Brits have been converting Jaguar infotainment systems to allow CarPlay for years. Why is the USA so far behind in this area?

Rate my "SPECTRE" F-Type
Excellent exhilarating adrenal rushing beast. The slight wind around the head while driving keeps me in tune with the driving experience on an open highway. Listening to women screaming "oh my God !" as I drive past them during a down throttle from 4th gear into third and then second followed by a Pop Pop from the rear is an adrenaling rush in itself. Their guys look so depressed too. LOL. Can't help but smile when this happens.
Still a very hot car

Black on Black 2.0 Turbo
I have owned many American muscle cars through the years and then drifted over to the older Datsun 240-240Z cars. I always loved the style and drivability! We paid off my Wife's new cars last year and decided to indulge my fascination with the F type. I found a 2015 convertible R model but did not like the convertible as compared to the coupe. The next one I found was this car. My Wife and I test drove it and I anticipated a less than thrilling event. I live in the mountains of NC and the back roads are like a motocross track. This car handles the curves like an old Z car but has all the power that I need to make me smile every time I drive it. Would I love the snarl of the V8- yes but the reliability is so much better in this model. Fuel consumption is great at 31MPG average and everyone comments on the beauty of this car! The value and smile you will get on your face every time you get into this is 100% worth it! Superchargers are nice but I enjoy my peace of mind with the turbo model. No matter which model you desire...buy one!
