"Bad" Kitty
I am 6'2" and most of the "special" cars that were interesting to me I could not fit in. Two weeks ago I flew from Michigan to South Carolina to pick up my brand new 2014 ( yes, I realize the 2016's are coming out very soon ) F-Type Jaguar convertible, V-6 S, in British Racing Green with dark brown leather with light stitching and a black top. I fit like the car was tailor made just for me. I can stretch out my left leg fully, the seat holds but does not dig in ( Porsche ), my line of sight is in the middle of the windshield, not at the upper support bar ( Corvette ). I drove a V-8 S several months ago and fell in love with the car but as hard as it is for a car guy to say, it was too powerful to be fun. My car can be driven with some gusto and I can enjoy the amazing exhaust sounds without hitting crazy speeds and likely going to jail. The middle choice in the lineup was the perfect car for me. Amazing lines, rare color, outstanding build quality and well thought out driving position and dash layout. Drove my new "Kitty" home (830 miles) straight through and I could not get the big smile off my suntanned face. Got 29.2 mpg if that matters to any potential buyers running 75 to 85 mph. It took me a long time to finally decide on my special car. Spending this kind of money should make you think twice. I sometimes call this my anti-Tesla. There is a great mix of sophisticated aides and functions but enough great old school DNA to make me think that these kinds of cars may not be build forever in an electric, Google computer driver future. I feel that Jaguar has built a car that will still put a big smile on my face 20 years from now when I press the orange start button and this car roars to life. You will want to keep the sport exhaust turned "off" until you are out of your neighborhood, trust me. The trunk is "soft side" overnight bags small but this is a weekend or special use car for most owners and the way the lines of the car work so well together I promise you will not care about the small trunk. Design over function is "OK" sometimes. Could not be happier with my purchase. Note: perhaps in some areas of the country these cars are more plentiful. Where I live they are "Blue Moon" rare. Be prepared for lot's of attention. A year later and no issues at all. The more I drive my Jag the more that I appreciate the build quality, the design, and the way this car is sorted out. We make wonderful drives along the back roads near Lake Michigan visiting the great small harbor towns with the car and those types of roads are the cars favorite. Top down driving is something that we thought we would like but actually love. The sounds and smells along with fantastic views transform a normal ride into an adventure. One small issue. For the money a real spare tire should be included with each car sold. The owner could then decide to carry it or not. Never once have I thought that I had not purchased the right model F-Type. The middle one is just so much fun to drive, so balanced, very powerful but in a more useable way than the crazy 8. My 2014 BRG, black convertible top, dark brown interior F-Type Jaguar is over 4 years old now. Time really does fly by. I honestly thought that there had to be "gremlins" lurking in my car somewhere. The electrical system, the fit and finish, the driveline, something was going to re-confirm the sketchy reputation for build quality that Jaguar acquired in the past. The wonderful and amazing realization is that I have had an oil change, first one is on Jaguar and a tiny paint repair on the seem where the body and the rear fender join up. I understand that this is not particularly uncommon and it is a few spots where the paint is rubbed off and appears as white spots. Fixed perfectly under warranty last year. That is it for any repairs or "gremlins" and compares well with any of our Toyota's or Honda's. We enjoy using the car but honestly we do not use it as an everyday driver. A special car for special drives on special days. Since we live in Michigan it sleeps the winters away from November until May so the total mileage on the car is very low and it goes to sleep on Sunday. Concerns: All Jaguars seem to depreciate faster than they really should. Not sure if it is related to a perception of no quality or that they lease too many of them but the issue is real. We did not buy it for resale but the market value hit the first few years is really significant. I guess that provides some great values for the second owners . Wondering when the market will be saturated with people looking for this kind of wonderful experience car but at the expense of everyday practicality. I am not sure that the market is huge for cars like this. Twenty years from now we intend to still be cruising along the amazing backroads of Michigan with our car. Another year, very light use. No issues of any kind. Love our F-Type Jag convertible S. Sleeping now Fall 2022 and it’s back to sleep after a couple of years of very light use. 8 years old and 11k miles might make ours one of the least used F-Types anywhere. My total costs from new, 1 oil change, that’s it. Still love it, no issues, not using it much but love it when we do and it still looks amazing and is rare. In our very low 60’s and we drive it in the fall when it’s in the 40’s & 50’s with the heated seats, heated steering wheel, heat on and the top down, big smiles. I think we will have a really good couple of decades yet to go. If you want one of these you better act fast, I was correct on my first post that this type of cars are quickly going away forever. It’s going to be 10 years old soon , how is that possible and I just finished hooking up the trickle charger, topping off the tank ( ethanol free premium only) and putting the custom car cover on for a seven month sleep here in wintery Michigan. Two oil changes have been my only costs in 14,700 miles from new, original tires with lots of tread remaining. We only use it as a third car so no commuting and only weekend drives and a once a year adventure along the coast of Lake Michigan where we live which is always magical. Really do wish we had the time to use it more. I realize how correct I was in my first post that this type of sporty but impractical 2 seat cars were going to fade away and they are, no more new F-Types, but we have ours to keep. We are so easy on it and just enjoy the convertible experience and a wonderful drive. Like it more today than the day I picked it up, kind of like your favorite shoes, it just fits right.

Save your money, get the base
After driving the base, V6 S and the V8 S, I leased the base V6. I felt that it actually drove better than the other two for much less money. For some reason the base Trans seems to shift better than the two higher models. While waiting for my base, I was given a V8 to drive, while very fast, it just wasn't as much fun as the base.

Short Term Review
I traded my XKRS in for the F Type R Coupe. What a difference in feel and performance. The XKRS has the same motor, same HP and torque but feels so much different. The XKRS you have to drive very carefully or else you will find yourself pointing in the wrong direction. The R Coupe coaxes you in to throwing it around. It feels solid and connected, sure footed and playful. Everything the XKRS was not. Well done Jaguar!
WOW!!!!!!
When referring to the F Type S V8, SLEEK and STYLISH are understatements. Sitting into the drivers seat, is as finger in a glove. Contoured to my form and necessary when you push hard on the accelerator. 'G' forces exist, and you know it. Throatiness of the exhaust, with or without the 'ACTIVE' button, is ear appealing and just plain 'SEXY'. All dash controls, easily readable and steering wheel controls facilitate fast human responses when this machine LEAPS and that it does. I am enjoying the ride by the minute. Thank you JAGUAR.
Comfortable and exhilarating!
I bought a one owner 2014 with 19,000 miles. Original msrp $105,000. My price illustrates the depreciation of these cars is incredible but the driving experience is unrivaled. The v8 is crazy fast but driven sensibly is very accommodating. A bit heavy and relatively large (wide) car when compared to other roadsters ( I've owned BMW Z4's, Z3,corvette, 300ZX, etc.) and this is as comfortable as any of those and far more exhilarating. #1 fun car! UPDATE: I have owned a Jaguar F-Type V8S for 4+ years and still feel that sense of excitement and anticipation that I felt when I first bought it. It has been as reliable as my Porsche boxster. It is exactly what it was built and advertised to be, an exhilarating GT car. It's nature and performance are definitely befitting of the Jaguar badge. For me, because of it's exceptional good looks and top notch performance, it is a keeper.

Awesome.....a must buy!!!!
I test drove the base F-type in Polar white with black leather/suede interior this weekend and it drives well as it looks. The pictures don't do justice for how amazing it looks in person. Even with the base 18" wheels, it's a stunner!!! The build quality is excellent. From the body panels to the well thought-out interior, Jaguar did their homework and produced a car that it is more than worthy of its asking price. The Drive: Amazing!!! Despite some slight turbo lag from the 340 hp supercharge engine, the F-Type pins you back in your seat and provides an exhilarating driving experience without beating you up. The balance in the suspension and steering preciseness is uncanny.
My first JAG!
I was hesitant to purchase /lease a Jaguar based on PAST reputation of mechanical shortcomings. Boy was I surprised at the quality and performance of my F-type. It also draws a lot of attention and questions from others. It looks beautiful! Maybe a little loud for some.

F is for FUN
I use this car is my daily commuter. I did have small problems with the car ; noise from the vacuum pump behind the driver seat, the drivers handle going in and out numerous times when using the fob to unlock, the stereo causing vibrations in the door panels and an overall poor sound quality. The convertible top motor blew on the second day of owning the car resulting in a tow back to the shop with the repair that lasted over a month and a half, the ultimate black metallic paint on the hood failed with the hood still needing to be repainted. Paint failure on the side body panels behind the drver/passenger doors. the infotainment system locked up and needed to be "rebooted" after a software upgrade. Be prepared to get to know your service manager by his first name.... for that matter the entire dealership.

This cat roars!
Love this car for running around town in a hurry! Easy to park, fun to drive easy to maintain. Nothing to hate about this car except the drop in price from new to resale.

F-type Daily Driver
CPO f-type V6 is my daily driver and love going to work. Best V6 exhaust note in my opinion. No major issues so far, just minor rattling in dash area on rough roads and sticky buttons. Great balance of fun and class. A really head turner and amazing exhaust note.
incredible power, handling, styling and sounds
Best sports car I've driven. Tested 911S, Maserati, BMW and nothing is as much fun or excitement. Best looking, freshest and most exhilarating. After two years, I feel even more satisfied with this car than before. Never had so many compliments or fun. At the end of the three year lease I was both sorry to see the car go and eager to get into a more comfortable and less noisy one. Great sports car and I can recommend it for enthusiasts. As I take frequent 500 mile drives ( about 6 times a year) it's not a "cruiser" and is not as fun for long drives. Otherwise, fantastic car.

My dream car come true!
If you're looking for a relatively exclusive, classy, fun to drive 2-seater sports car that gets attention without looking like you're having a mid-life crisis, the Jaguar F-Type must be on your shortlist. Especially in V8 configuration, you get Corvette-like performance but with classier styling over the track-focused Corvette and more exclusivity over the other usual offerings from Porsche or BMW with similar performance. The F-Type is downright gorgeous with high quality fit and finish. Its 8-speed auto transmission is fast shifting and fun to drive aggressively (you really won't miss a manual) but the real fun is in the sound; everyone who rides with you will be smiling as much as you! Performance is near supercar status (in V8 guise) with the supercharged 5.0L engine rocketing to 0-60 at just under 4 seconds and a top speed north of 180 mph. The V8S RWD is tail-happy so you do have to make sure you are paying attention coming into high speed corners (newer versions like the AWD R help alleviate some of this). Steering response is smooth and immediate. Despite its performance focused suspension, the car still provides a relatively comfortable ride and getting to speed is just plain fun depending on how you want to drive it; think of the F-Type as a cross between a European-muscle car and GT cruiser. Electronics (especially the infotainment system) lags a little behind newer offerings but then I didn't buy the vehicle for infotainment; the real entertainment is in the driving experience as a whole back by the wonderful exhaust symphony. And, if you're patient, low mileage versions can be found at moderate prices (although that is relative too considering sticker prices are typically near or above six figures for a new one with the V8). If you can, find one with the Performance Pack (better seats, 20-inch wheels, bigger brakes with red calipers, etc.) and Vision Pack with Blind Spot Monitoring (to help with cross traffic, parking, and backing up since visibility over and around the car’s sumptuous curves is limited) along with other packs/upgrades that enhance the ownership, driving experience, and resale value. While long term reliability seems to be much improved offer previous Jaguar offerings, the F-Type is still relatively new so I also recommend investing in an extended warranty that can be purchased from your Jaguar dealership.

Excellent reliable sports car
I have the coupe version S V6 model. I now have 46,500 miles on it and I have the original brakes and battery. Just normal service and nothing has broken on this car. Just put on a new set of Michelin tires and I highly recommend this car for a person that wants a extremely reliable and fun car.

F-Type V8S
Just took delivery of F-Type V8S. BRG exterior and Red Interior. Beautiful looks Beautiful engine noise and great fun to drive. Wish I could post my picture here to show off. The car is a bit small for me but, I am very tall. Seats are comfortable and supportive, handling seems very tight. but it is a very small car. Rear view is extremely limited but it is a convertible. Still too early to say too much but, I am already scared of the car's performance.
First Jag owned since E-type
Don't let the magazines talk you into spending more $$ for the S or V8 models. This cat has PLENTY OF POWER!!. Took delivery of this special ordered car in 8 weeks from deposit on August 1. Purchased full leather performance heated seats/steering wheel and XM radio. Total cost $72,445 before discount. Awesome machine and sound...better than my Maserati Grand Turismo and most Ferrari's. This vehicle is even better looking in person and guarantees exclusivity. Base car is fully equipped with navigation, stereo and super cool led running headlights. Trunk will hold full set of golf clubs!
Ride of your life
It’s a gorgeous car with a gorgeous sound. But remember all your costs will go up. Because the insurance is going to be expensive, gas is going to be expensive and the girls who want a ride will be expensive.

Best car I've owned in my 52 years
This car was pricey at $108K, but as an exotic car, Jags aren't driven that much and loads of 2014 V8s can be had in the low $40k's with 10k miles or less. The Certified Preowned Warranty cars have 7y/100K warranties which are still in effect. Performance-wise, you can beat the 5.0L V8 RWD, as it is much more powerful (+70 whp over AWD), lighter (-300 pounds) and faster. The Jag F-Type RWD V8S absolutely buries everything form Porsche in the price range, no Porsche 911 is even remotely competive as they have about 50% less torque than the Jag. The V10 Audi powered Lamborghini Huran an Audi R8 are utterly outmatched, as the Jag literally leave both like they are standing still, with 100 ft-lbs more torque and similar weight. Overall, the car is a riot, with an exaust note so gorgeous, they is nothing else like it on the road at any price or age. Its is simply spectacular. Watch Matt Morans youtube review or the V8R for a wonderful tour and driving review. Of note, the Racechip GTS Black is wonderfully reliable and bumps the car to 620 hp and 500 ft-lbs for $750. And a $225 upper supercharger pulley adds another 30 hp and 20 ft-lbs. The RWD V8 F-Types are legendary cars that will define the peak of the automobile.

A great roadster!
The Jaguar F-Type is a competitor to the Porsche 911 and the C7 Corvette. The F-Type is a hidden gem that has an outstanding 8 speed quick shift auto transmission with dynamic mode that stiffens the suspension and expands the rev point. The quality is first rate and the ride is all sports car. The only draw back is the truck is only 11 cubic feet which is very small, but you can get a couple of small soft backs or travel suitcases in it. After four years of ownership, this has been a very fun and reliable roadster!

This is the second modern Jag I owned, last one 2010 XKR convertible
Not sure why people will buy V6, unless it's the money issue. V8 has way more power & better sound. A absolute head rush. Unless if you track all the time, otherwise no point to have V6. But again, if you track all the time, you probably should buy a 911. Many people buy Porsche said Porsche is a better performance car but never take the car to track. For me, a sports car is all about style, sound, power and being unique. This is my 2nd Jag, last one was a 2010 XKR convertible. I didn't have any reliability issue at all, don't expect on this one. However, I did have horrible reliability & built quality experiences with Porsche & Mercedes SL55. Jag is the only company that I bought 2 cars.
Simply a blast
V8 is awesomely beastly. No problems.

No room to roam
Love the performance..but, big but, absolutely no room for suitcases, golf bags. So, never a car you can take on a weekend getaway.
F-Type Fantastic
Great car..Dynamic adjustments allow one to make car as they wish..exhaust louder or quieter, steering, suspension..all easy to set. Very fast. great looking. AND, over 20 mpg with the 8-speed tranny.
