Don't waste your time on an ES300
Just recently bought mine and I enjoy it. Great handling and acceleration. I love the power as well as heated driver and passenger seats. If you're thinking about a used luxury sedan, the J30 is the way to go. You get a more powerful engine and more standard features for your money than a similarly equipped ES300.
1994 J30 Touring Model
I have a new Honda Accord EX loaded. Bought the J30 for my son and now somehow I've ended up with it. And I Love this car! The body style reminds me of a Jaguar. The car I bought had only 58,000 miles, it was garage kept and is in mint condition. This is the my favorite car of all time!

J30.. LOVE IT
I have owned this car for almost 5 years now.. and knock on wood.. I LOVE this CAR !!!!
can't all cars be like this
I am the only owner of this car...its is the most exciting vehicle on the road... rear wheel drive is sweet... The only negative is the paint job....
Great value for sport luxury
I purchased my '94 J30t when it was 5 yrs old with 68k miles. Now has 130k and it's been a great car for me. Having owned a vw GTI, Nissan 240 and 5.0 Mustang, the J30t is still very sporting as well as being by far the most luxurious. I was thinking the other day that there has really been no trouble in it's second 65k mile tour of duty. The BOSE head unit went out but was overhauled for $200. The rear calipers are sticking now, but that's after 8 mos of sitting still. The shocks need replacing, no problem with 130k miles, but they are $500 for the set!! In all, I can't think of a better car to have purchsed for $10k at the time. What luxury
J 30
My J30 has been a wonderful vehicle to own and drive. It's been a love affair since the moment I saw her -- pure luxury! Performance in town and on the highway have been superior. Her quiet, smooth ride is combined with terrific power. There has been not a single maintenance issue other the the ordinary scheduled maintenance.
Nothing like an Infiniti!
I am very impressed with this car. It's powerful and runs like a champ. The only thing I might have to replace are the shocks in the back and the drivers side power window. But other than that the engine runs quiet strong, which isn't bad for a 94 with only 86,000 miles.
The best used car.
I love my J30 so much. It is the nicest car that I have ever had. I have had no problems except for the head unit going out. I bought it for 3600 dollars with 100,000 miles and it was the best deal I ever got. I suggest that when in the market for a sedan that is fast and reliable, the J30 is best. It has the 300ZX engine and that is what makes it so fast.
Pretty fast
Been a very reliable car. It has over 240,000 mi. Just keep the oil changed regularly and the timing belt every 80,000 mi. The rwd is awesome, this car will do a hell of a doughnut. I've had this car at 132 mph going down a slight hill very smooth ride.
Should Have Bought a 96 Maxima Instead
While it's true that I had always admired the beauty of the J30, I've been surprised by a couple of things. (1) the engine seems a little rough for a luxury car and (2) the interior hasn't held up very well. The leather seats and steering wheel have cracked quite a bit over time. This has been especially surprising because the car has spent most of its life in dreary Seattle. Having said all of that, I still do like the way the car looks and I've never had any reliability issues save the broken left rear power window.
Awsome
Very good car. Unique styling(one of a kind). Good ride lots of performance.
ONE OF TOP TEN CARS ALL TIME!!!
I just purchased a 94 Infiniti J30 with 116,000 miles on it for only $5,000. These cars are absolutely beautiful and would recommend them to anyone. Despite the car's age and mileage, the car is nearly mint inside and out. The engine is strong and the styling is ageless. There's nothing on the road that looks like it. Too bad they stopped producing it. I've owned hondas and toyotas and these don't compare to the look and feel of this car.
1994 Infinity J-30T
The car runs just great and has been a pleasure to own. It was made to drive at 70 or 80 mph on the highway - the engine just sings on the open road, and after all these years! The pricey struts have been the only problem and because of their price makes them a major problem. It is comfortable, gets fairly good mileage for its size (18 on everyday use) and I hate having to consider getting rid of it after all these years! With new struts this car will have another 100,000 miles to go!
Still running and still looks good!
I purchased my black emerald 1994 J30 in 1998 as a certified used car. I have never had a problem with the engine or the transmission. The only expensive repairs have involved replacing the struts. the air conditioning and the motor to the sunroof. The power lock on the driver's side is finicky. Sometimes it locks and sometimes it doesn't. I am no longer able to get a keyless remote because of the age of my car. My car stays parked in a garage, so the body looks pretty good . There are a few scratches on the exterior if you look at it close up. I keep thinking that if I spend a lot of money getting it painted, that something major will go wrong . I would love to get a newer car, but right now the prices, due to inflation, are ridiculous. Even when I do get a newer one, I don't know if I could let this one go. It has a little over 186,000 miles on it. I am just posting this to praise my old car. Maybe, I was just lucky.
