Best Small SUV of 2005
After exploring other SUVs and test- driving the Honda Element and Ford Escape, the Tucson GLS (4X4) ended up coming home with me. I was almost sold immediately with all the standard options the Tucson comes with. The Interior is very ergonomically self- explanatory. The Audio System is capable of playing Regular CDs and CD/MP3 disks and comes with a cassette deck. Though cassette tapes are hardly used anymore, it comes in handy for connecting my iPod with a cassette adaptor. The exterior is very stylish and sporty. Though the Tucson wont win any drag races, its traction and stability was very good on the first 4X4 test to upstate snowy New York.
tucson nice ride
The tucson seems like a sports car when driving on country roads. It reminds me of my old saab.

Awesome
We have had the Tucson for about a month and a half...I have already taken a 2000 mile trip....what a great vehicle. The only challange I forsee is being able to get the Tucson away from my wife. We live in Michigan and we can't wait to see how it handles in our winters. With all of its safety features it is very reassuring for my wife to drive. This is our first foreign vehicle.....but if this is any indication.....it will not be our last. The dealership that we dealt with has been fantistic so far...no high pressure...very professional...they let the vehicle sell itself. Try the Tucson..it is a great ride !!!
First Day...
We looked at all small SUVs and found the best values at Hyundai, so it was between the Santa Fe and the Tucson. The Tucsons interior sold us and the ride was very smooth and quiet. After we got it, during the long drive home (35 miles) the seats were alil too firm compared to the comfort of the Santa. We love the option of having the front seats fold down and make a long long back seat, very relaxing. We would say its not as powerful however its very adequate for around-the-town travel.
so far so good
I have had my new Tucson for about 2 weeks as of this writing. I drive an average of 55 miles a day mixed city and highway. I have been on a 900 mile round trip(to Gettysburg) with tucson. All of the "professional" reviews I read didnt seem to feel the tucson V-6 has enough power. I disagree. Even with both rear seats down and the cargo space full, with two adults up front and the A/C on- I never felt that I didnt have enough power to get on the highway safely. Its no sports car by any means but it is zippy enough to be a fun drive. My only complaint would be that I wish the steering wheel had a little bigger range of tilt and would telescope as I just cant get 100% comfortable
