Disappointing...
Careful when considering the purchase of a Hyundia. Read the warranty restriction very accutely. At 60,000 miles be prepared to pay upto $1500 in basic service maintenance to keep the 100,000 miles powertrain warranty effective. (Timing belt must be replaced every 60K!) I have owned 3 hyundia's; Tiberon, Sonata, and an old Excel. It might be a great value up front but carefully calculate longterm operation costs and depreciation.
Great Car
I bought this car in January with 22,000 miles on it. I have gone to Florida and back in it and I love this car. It is smooth and comfortable (as comfortableaas one can get driving over 3,00 miles). I now have 33,000 miles on it and it performs as well as it did when I bought it. I love the styling and the engine is quiet and smooth to deliver on the 171 horsepower.

A Great Car - A Great Surprise!!
When I first took a test drive I fell in love immediately. The handling was smoothm the shifting was easy and the ride was comfortable. An the power - at 170 HP it purred and was so smooth. I love this car. Gas mileage could be better but is it comparable with others in it's class. The styling is great and I would favorably compare it to the Honda.
waste money for a 35k miles 2000 sedan
I bought this car from a first owner, then I lost the 100k miles warranty. Rear wheel bearing, left front shaft, oxygen sensor, mass air flow sensor, tps sensor, front disc breakes worn out at 45k miles too much money to spend for a 70k miles car. Speed transmision sensor dealer said $500 plus 105 diagnostic fee. Crazy waste money. I drove this car by 20k miles and I have been spended at least 1500 dollars in parts and labor. So the fabricants are supposed to put some recalls for this car. The people who knows about cars doesn't recomend me Hyundai or kia any more. I don't understand how a company advertise 100k miles warranty for this car.
Bang for your buck
My Sonata has been great. I haven't had any major problems. It is a joy to drive. It is comfortable and has a lot of get up and go. I'm always approached by strangers who tell me that they love the styling and wonder how happy I've been with the car.
