4 years of Ownership....Nice to own
Have lived with my S2000 for 4 years and almost 28k miles. Sporty car, perfect transmission, nice fit and finish and Honda reliability (zero problems). This is a car for people that want a sports car. Not a sporty car. Not luxury sports car. The car is exactly what Honda intended and it is perfect at that job. Only regrets are living "up north" and having to park it 3 months a year. The summers are great, top down almost every drive home for 5 months.
Tremendous Second Vehicle
Bought the 2004 S2K as a second vehicle to add a fun alternate to the fully owned, practical SUV. Tried a few competitors, but the S2K came in ahead of them all. Performance, for the price, lays all the others aside (save possibly for the Nissan 350Z). The S2K has become the vehicle of choice, but for bulk errands and carting the (large) dog around. The car is not for family convenience, but driving pleasure. Even a short commute is enhanced by the fun and, frankly, driveability of the S2K. Clearance (into work garage ramp and driveway) were no problem (slow and at an angle) for city driving, but the fun comes in on the open highway. Watch your speed - it takes you past legal w/o thought.

Reminds me of a MG A Twin Cam
I just purchased an S 2000, after considering a BMW Z4. This car is a hoot, and in my opinion a much better value as a true sports car than the BMW. When I was in college my roommate had a new MG A Twin Cam. Yes, I am over 65! Any way, the MG, as I recall was red lined over 7000 RPM, and it would screem at high rev's, just like the S2K. I recall that most of those MG's experienced a total engine failure after about 10,000 miles. Everything about the S2000 is great except the cover for the top (it's a chore to put on properly). I am also disappointed in the lack of oil pressure and electric gauges.
Absolutlely Awesome
I'm so glad i waited until the 2004 came out. The bigger engine is a big improvement and the 17 inch tires really make this car a winner. The handling is remarkable.
2004 Honda S2000
Just picked up one from the first shipments from Japan! The handling on this years model is very nice with the larger tires. The retuned suspension makes the car glued to the road. A great bang for the buck! Don't expect much from the stock radio though, the sound quality is terrible! The seats form nicely around you if you are of average build. I've found that its a bit difficult to get into the car if you are tall (6' or over). I'll add more to this review (if I can) once I break in the car!
