So far so good
The car is super intuitive. It drives nice. It’s super quiet. I don’t know if that’s normal for all hybrids but I have had a couple people in my car who have told me to “turn it on” while it was running. I also, the first night, didn’t realize I didn’t turn it off when I arrived home since it’s the first keyless car I have had. My last car was a stock 2013 Hyundai Sonata so this was a major improvement for me. There was an offer for SiriusXM but I don’t like that it’s a “free trial” where you have to pay a $2 activation fee. Haven’t driven in snow mode because there’s no snow. Pros: -Quiet -Good gas mileage (drive in Econ mode and use the regenerative braking - get an average of 35 MPG so far between city & highway with about 500 miles) -Headlights are nice and bright -Automatic wipers work well -Sport mode is a nice option -Driver seat is comfortable for me. My partner is disappointed there’s no lumbar support option for the passenger seat though -You can set the trunk to open to a certain height which is good for parking in a garage -Motion sensors seem good -Back up camera has many view options -Love the black rims -Wireless charger is nice Cons: -The apple CarPlay is a nice feature however after 3 weeks it randomly wouldn’t pick up my phone anymore? I had to factory reset and add my phone back to get it to work. Not super happy about that and hoping it doesn’t happen again. It also wiped all of my saved locations in my map app after connecting it. -The windshield wipers are bad - I had bugs on there and kept trying to use it and it wasn’t clearing them. -The spray comes from the wiper so it just doesn’t hit and soak the whole windshield. I ended up having to clean my windshield with a rag to get rid of it because it was getting hard to see. -Windshield wiper fluid is blue. Car is white. Since the fluid sprays from the wipers themselves, it just blows all over the car and leaves blue streaks -As others have said the horn is sad but this was super minor for me -I don’t like the dim lit rear view mirror but I know that’s a thing on most newer cars -Wish there was more storage space in the front - no coin holder, second middle compartment, small space in the doors, no behind driver seat pocket

Exceptionally good car
I came to this car after years of driving Audis, Volvos, Mercedes and even a Genesis. I chose it after driving a Venza hybrid, and a Sportage plug-in hybrid. The moment I got into the Honda, it was obvious how solid the car felt, in a way the others didn't. It drives beautifully - smooth and quiet. Great visibility. Easy (really easy) to use the driver controls. Everyone seems to want buttons - why car manufacturers insist on spaceship like controls is beyond me. Adaptive cruise control is even better than in my Volvo, and I always thought Volvo was the best. Thus far, my MPG are close to what's advertised: between the dealership and home - largely back roads, I got 41 - 43. On a highway drive (67 MPH for 2 hours), I got about 35. In my town, which is tiny and where speed limits generally don't exceed 30, I have gotten as much as 50 (albeit very short term while bopping around town). I drive in B mode, which is also fabulous where the speed limits are low - much easier to drive close to the speed limit without always having to hit the breaks. I don't care about all of the things reviewers go on about or complain about a car not having (heads up display, pano sunroof, cooled seats) - you may, but I don't miss those things. I've had them in other cars and never used them. The only two features I wish it had was a spare and auto folding mirrors. I have purchased a spare which I will throw in the back (or in a basket on top) when I go on longer road trips. Otherwise, I'm really pleased with it andI highly recommend.

2023 Honda cr v Hybrid Sport Touring / GOOD CAR !!
Honda CRV Hybrid Sport Touring just feels more solid. It feels small compared to my Honda Pilot. (which is exactly want I wanted). Very quiet, very good feel of the road, very good visibility. All the climate buttons are very easy to find and use while driving. Other brands you just have to think a little too much to find a defogger etc. Its quick enough, and I feel safe. The other brands will have to wait for me a bit longer. Gas 40/34 mph city/highway

Honda hits the target again
I just purchased the 2023 Sport Touring CR-V as a replacement for my 2007 CR-V which is still running strong. I've been test driving the various competitor cars over the past few years but landed on the Honda. The Honda CR-V has quality construction and performance that can't be understated. The balance of comfort and utility is so well thought out that it establishes the baseline for all comparisons. The one thing I was worried about was the new hybrid design. I've also been driving a Ford C-Max for the past decade that has a wonderful hybrid experience. I can say that Honda's new hybrid design is even superior. I hit the published EPA numbers on my first long drive. On the tech side, the lane assist, adaptive cruise control, 9-inch central console features and physical buttons, seat positioning memory, generative braking mode gear, are all excellent. Looks like another 15 year car for me.

192 miles and had to be towed to dealer beware
Control module went, car lasted 192 miles. Hopefully I will get it back, has been at dealer for 3 days so far. Had to wait for 3 tow trucks bc it would not shift into any gear. (Hybrid sport touring) Dealer said this is first they have seen but tow truck driver said this isn’t the first 23 crv he has personally towed with similar issue.

Honda should be on your short list.
Solid and quiet ride, Leather, smooth transition from engine to electric motor, not the highest mpg of the hybrid vehicles but it is All wheel drive. Roomy, wide opening doors, rear camera washer, lane keep assist works well, easy to drive. Does well for a 2.0 L non turbo engine.

Delivers What It Promises
So far the 2023 Honda CR-V Sport Hybrid delivers what Honda promises. I'm averaging around 42 mpg in combined city and highway driving. The driver's seat is very comfortable and the power adjustments are easy to use. All the safety features work well. The on screen options are relatively easy to understand and use. Acceleration is more than adequate around town or on the interstate. As I would expect, storage space is up to par, too. This is my third Honda CR-V, and it seems to me that this newest design in a big step up from the previous ones. UPDATE: I've owned my 2023 Honda CRV Sport Hybrid for about a year and half. To date, it delivers on all my expectations. The ride is smooth, it handles well, and it holds the road. Average mileage has exceeded my expectations. I usually average 43 plus miles per gallon per tank of gas, while driving both in the city and on the interstate. During a recent trip from Knoxville, TN to Franklin, TN, I got nearly 45 miles per gallon. Doing so requires that I pay attention to how I drive, but that actually helps me stay fully engaged in driving. The various assistance features work well. I have no buyer's remorse.

No repair parts available 2023 CRV hybrid touring
I need a repair part for 2023CRV hybrid touring for several months. It is the end of June. Honda still says that they do not have repair parts available.
I Regret This Purchase.
I'll start by saying I surly wish I had kept my 2020 CR-V. Lets start with vibrations at highway speeds. I had it for about a month with just over 1000 miles on it and the dealer charged me to rebalance the wheels. (unbelievable). It still has annoying vibration at highway speeds. Also at highway speeds the road noise is atrocious. Then there is the climate control, seems like there are only two settings, too hot or too cold. Then there is the LKA, I can't use it, it's like the car becomes a ping pong ball. Then there is the sudden braking for no reason, and it is not rarely, it is frequent. Then there is the missing Home Link. I purchased the Home Link mirror, the dealer installed it, when my wife tried to adjust it it came off in her hand. Then they said they had to replace and torque some sort of spring part of the mirror, charged again. Then there is the first trip with this car, 833 miles, 32 MPG, not much better than my 2020 CR-V. Last but not least there is that god awful noise it makes when in reverse, so damn loud. That's my experience so far, four months of ownership, wish I never bought it.

Just follow the crowd and get one!
I really enjoy my '23 CR-V Sport AWD more than I though I would. I "downgraded" from years of luxury cars, and most recently from an Audi A6 which was surprisingly very reliable. I've had a few Honda's in the more recent past too, and really like the brand. I've driven the CR-V for about 1,300 miles now with zero issues and average around 37 MPG. Not bad, but I think the Toyota hybrid system is slightly superior. I cannot vouch for the long-term comfort of the seats, but so far, 2 hour journeys are very comfortable! I prefer the heated cloth over leather unless it is ventilated, which I am surprised Honda doesn't offer as most of its competitors do. The ride and drive is relatively quiet and solid, and the acceleration is perfectly adequate. Overall, I would definitely recommend it to anyone shopping in this class!

The one to beat
Pros (and there are many): - the solid driving feel and quiet cabin give this compact SUV a feel of something much more premium. I came from a Lexus IS350 and the CR-V feels just as premium - cabin layout for audio and climate controls is very intuitive. I also think the 9 inch touchscreen, while it could be larger, is quite intuitive as well. Anything you need is a simple touch away and the customization is a great feature and easy to accomplish - MPG has been good, once the car is warmed up I can consistently get 35-40 mpg city/suburban. I do not drive on the highway much but mpg does take a substantial hit there - styling; this new generation looks great and with the still night pearl blue with black wheels, I’m sold. I have gotten several compliments in the few weeks I’ve had it which is impressive for a CR-V - driving assistance features are helpful and not intrusive. Other comments here discuss experiences with these systems being over-reactive or intrusive but that has not been my experience. - interior space is wonderful. I’m 6ft tall and another full size adult can easily sit behind me with remaining knee space Cons: - highway mpg is meh, which admittedly is not where a hybrid shines - lack of top features such as ventilated seats or the larger 12in touchscreen or full digital display that the new Accord gets. C’mon Honda, no one needs an old analog speedometer anymore! Overall I highly recommend. I previously owned a 2020 RAV-4 XSE hybrid and this feels slightly more premium and refined. It drives wonderfully, has great utility, style and city mpg for the price.
How about a spare tire?
Ordered my new 23 CRV Hybrid yesterday. I learned that none of the 2023 models (not just Honda) come with a spare tire? You get a small pump and a can of goop. Might be ok for a small tread puncture, but a major blowout, better call a tow truck. I live in Phoenix, and the thought of waiting in 115 degree summer heat for who knows how long for a tow is nuts. I got two different opinions from two dealers. One said they cannot put the spare above the batteries, yet the 2021 CRV Hybrids have batteries AND a spare tire. Another said it's Honda's way of cheaping out. Lower the price a little, and try to squeeze out an extra mpg. Also, selling dealer told me that because of a parts shortage, the blind side exterior mirror indicator is no longer working, and never will be. Hey Honda. Ship the car as "blind side ready" and update it when the parts come in. That's a pretty important safety feature gone. So I'll be buying a spare tire, jack and lug wrench, and tossing it into the back of my precious cargo space. I'm sure it's a nice vehicle , but be aware of these two issues.
A little disappointing
Purchased a new sport touring hybrid about three weeks ago. The MPG has not been that great. Not much better than my 2019 non hybrid. I found out after I bought it that Honda did away with both the garage door opener and the driving/fog lights. Very disappointing. The car seems to drive smoother and quieter than my 2019 so I am happy with that. Update: After owning my 2023 sport hybrid for five months I will report that I am pretty happy with the car. The gas mileage has settled at 35 mpg overall which is reasonable. One thing I notice is overall lack of power and how hard the little engine works to get it. Also having some issues with the adaptive cruise control shutting off for no reason. The dealer reset the system a few days ago so we will see if that helps. Overall I am very happy with the car

Not as reliable as anticipated
I wanted to love this vehicle. I really did. But the number of times it has needed repair has shocked me.
Worth the wait...so far.
It's only been 516 miles, but they've been a very good 516 miles. MPG as good or better than expected with 41 combined, car is quiet and comfortable, acceleration is great, controls are simple, it handled our ride up the mountain today like a champ, the vehicle is good looking, and came with Michelin tires - our favorite. Complaints? A few. The reverse gear noise is loud and rather annoying. Sounds like that bar trick when you run your finger around the top of a glass to make it "sing", but 10x louder. And the mee meep sound of the silly horn doesn't signal caution. It's laughable instead. And no spare, but that's how the market is heading, not just Honda. Giving it 4 out of 5 stars because we only have had it 2 weeks and have many more years to go.
Hybrid CRV transmission recall
Bought two new 2023 Hybrid Honda CRVs For over 80K. Both car’s transmissions behave very erratically by revving up to 5000RPM or more when at cruise without any aggressive accelerator input. I mentioned this to the salesperson, and his response was that I am experiencing new car buyer pickiness. Taking one of the cars back for it’s first oil change, again I described the problem to the service writer, only to be told that maybe the oil change will fix the problem. I told her that I also own a Hybrid BMW 5 series which does not behave with violent spikes in RPM and shifting. Her response was that I should not compare one car brand with another, not even with any other Honda Hybrid model. To make matters worst I found out that Honda currently has a recall for transmission problem for Hybrid Honda CRVs. I have not received any recall letters, but describing the problem to the dealer should have triggered further action. The final failure was when on a Toyota site I attempted to get a trade in value on the Honda CRVs, the trade in calculator red flags the Hybrid CRV, and does not give a trade in value. I believe Honda is aware of this problem, but it is not being forthcoming with taking appropriate action. Don’t buy Hybrid CRVs until this issue is resolved.

Good hybrid SUV... but...
Decent acceleration with hybrid power... 40 MPG combined with FWD.. quite most of the time and it gets loud when the engine turns ON while charging the battery and electric engine makes huge noise while reversing.. comfortable ride with better suspension.. However I notice few annoying problems.. No spare wheel puts into stress while going on longer trips, the driver side mirror shakes while going above 40 MPG, the rear view camera becomes black and white after parking the car in sun for a while, very rarely I've also noticed lane departure sensor failure warning while starting the vehicle.. the dealer always say they can't replicate and try to NOT fix any problem. so be aware of few random annoying issues that this vehicle makes and the amount of time you spend with the dealer and always hear they can't replicate. The hybrid battery pack is ~5000 bucks with ~1000 bucks for technician makes me think if this vehicle is worth it compared to gas.

Hybrid Buyer Beware
I purchased this car on 12/22/22. The most important feature for my choice was MPG. After 4+ months with this vehicle I have yet to get over 30.1 MPG. December-April I got 27mpg. Now that it is a little warmer I am barley getting 30 MPG-unacceptable! CRV rarely goes into EV mode. Dealer gave me a list of lame excuses- including "MPG ratings are done under perfect driving conditions. You will probably not get the rated MPG. MPG goes down when you use the defroster. It is your driving style." Well I owned a 2013 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid and never had any MPG issues- I even got better gas mileage than the rated MPG with the Hyundai. Honda better find a fix-search this problem on internet and you will see I am not the only one with this issue.

Impressed but........
So far I'm loving most of the features and the redesign however, what the heck is up with the whippy horn?? I've owned 3 other CRVs, no issues with the horn. The 2023 sounds like a clown horn at the circus. Surprised no other complaints read here on that. My other con: the cup holder is not deep enough. When I make turns my cup/bottle water falls over. Did they not test this??? One other con to mention, the front bumper sensor for parking does not engage if you have the radio on, WHY? I also did notice that the front seats are rather narrow so if you are on the larger size, you might not be comfortable (or fit). Otherwise, absolutely love my new Touring CRV.
Bring back the spare tire
The Touring dropped 3 items I feel should have remained ... spare tire (safety issue), fog lights (I miss my fog lights when outside city limits!), and garage door button which I used everyday.

Buyers Remorse
I feel like I'm sitting on a brick and my back and neck ache when I drive for any amount of time. Zero cushion in the two front seats. I made a comment when I was test-driving the car, but the salesperson quickly dismissed it as being tight leather that just needs to loosen. Months later and it still feels the same. Another disappointment is the gas mileage. We have it on econ mode and it gets a meager 32.6 mpg. A far cry from the advertised 40. I get that it's "up to" 40, but being in the ballpark of 37 - 40 would have been great and I wouldn't feel misled. I can say that it does drive smoothly and has all the bells and whistles anyone would ever need. However, I'm back to driving my old car while my husband drives this one until we trade it in.
Best crossover
This first-timer is driving a Honda. I love how this vehicle handles and is comfortable, I love, love, love the way it adjusts the lighting when I drive at night. The instrument panel is user-friendly.
Love my first hybrid
I have only had this vehicle for 904 miles. Around town and cross town mpg a honest calculated 47.4 mpg. I have only had it in Normal drive mode. Haven't tried the Econ Mode. It is easier to get into and out of that my 2011 Accord. It is much quiter. Enjoying the safety features. This is my first vehicle with a backup camera.

MPG is a lie.
Drives smoothly and is comfortable but I wish I never bought this car. No matter how I drive, my MPG is anywhere from 25-29. Dealer ran tests and made all these excuses but basically they deny it is a problem. Come to find out too late that other drivers have this issue as well. I could have paid WAY less money for a regular gas vehicle. Regret this purchase.

Overall an average hybrid SUV. Fuel efficiency not as advertised. You will get less. God bless you if you get a flat. Honda could have designed a spare! look at Toyota and others. Drive quality, cabin comfort, Road noise, suspension again average.

CRV sport touring 2023
Exterior and interior styling very NICE, has the feel of a much larger vehicle with all the extras included. Having fun trying out all of the diving assist programs. We filled the storage area with Sam's club supplies for couple months and had room left over. Dealer upcharge was not appreciated but the dealer we were at sold the 3 they received in 2 days!!!
Read before buying!
2023 Honda CR-V hybrid review We got ours pretty much fully loaded and have over 7,500 miles on it since taking delivery in late December. Comfortable ride for a Honda, relatively quiet interior (except when the noisy engine kicks in when not in hybrid mode) and pretty intuitive and modern interior layout. Pros: - Adjustable passenger seats - seat memory for 2 drivers - heated from seats - remote start built into remote (with option to subscribe to app based remote start and features after the 3 month trial ends) - actually fun to drive and drives almost like a civic (uses same platform) - cutover from gas to hybrid is seamless and makes no noise like a lot of vehicles - struts built into hood release ensuring an effortless way to open without using conventional “rod” - very good viewing angles when driving - very good amount (angle) of recline for rear seat passengers - love the physical click sensation using the hvac and volume control buttons! - love the orange stitching on the black seats (however if you hate orange or any contrast stitching this might bother you unfortunately) - good sized armrest storage area - front dashboard is laid out very intuitively/clearly and very easy to read - Bose sound system is good (not excellent however) and remarkably better than the base OEM version Cons: - no cool seat option - no ventilated seat option - no full lcd driver dashboard (only roughly 2/3’s) - must use premium fuel in order to get a range of roughly 450 miles otherwise with regular it gets roughly 350 on average (not mentioned in manuals or anywhere) - no panoramic sunroof option - optional accessories that I purchased are low quality (the rear retractable sliding cover for the trunk no area is thin and flimsy and the weather mats are low quality as well. - no “3D” parking mode aka view from above to show whole car - no camera when making right turn to show blind spots (some old Hondas used to do this) - heads up display option would be nice - no hard physical button to manually adjust brightness for panel displays/dashboard - no extra storage in rear below floor due to it being hybrid (bad planning or oversight by engineers) - should offer seat leg support extension for taller drivers - fog lights removed - rear seat recline adjustment is very poorly designed - missing rear temperature controls - missing heated rear seat option - rear cargo/storage area is not flat when seats are folded down - missing roof rail racks by default - no ability to monitor exact tire pressure amount (psi) for each tire wheel sensor - sunroof sliding light cover is very thin and allows in more noise than thicker ones - missing front window deice button option like Canada model has (not to be confused with from window defog button built into ac controls) - small glovebox - noticed some poor cut outs in the floor carpet - passenger control cover came off and had to reattach it but it doesn’t attach smoothly (could be a one off fluke or global issue, not sure but will have dealership look at it) - horn tone is weak and embarrassing - (this is more of a personal pet peeve) there are three empty missing buttons below dashboard for missing options so despite car being fully loaded it appears options are missing and hence not visually/ascetically appealing - would be nice to have cornering headlights that turn with the steering wheel - missing built in home link for garage door opener - No power folding mirrors - Interesting goof: all the 2023 CRVs are missing the rear left passenger seat pocket on drivers seat back Despite the Honda engineers missing some elements as pointed out in my cons above, they did ok for this first round new release. You have to keep in mind that they use the best engineers for their Acura product so they did the best they could with the limier talent they had but if you want better quality in the USA you will have to spend for Acura. I did point out these points to Honda in email but received a scripted response stating thank you for letting us know which gave me a bad impression of their customer service. Understandably they are looking at maximum profit and likely most customers are not as discerning as me by these short cuts, features and/or suggestions I’ve made. And at the end of the day I have to remember this is a Honda not a Toyota so I have to curb my expectations as it relates to quality and attention to details.

Good everyday car!
We got our CRV Hybrid sport for about 2 months. We love how it drives, how it looks. And being a hybrid it is very good on gas mileage. Interior is nice, the new design exterior looks a lot better than the previous model. I think the sport trim for the hybrid is the sweet spot, as the sport touring trim price range you are looking closer to an Acura RDX base model.. all in all. Pros are that it drives great, plenty of room in the back seats and it reclines as well, styling and how it handles. Cons there are a few, such as no spare tire due to a hybrid needs the room in the trunk for the battery, no panoramic sunroof, not a fully digital gauge, no ventilated seats, no 360 camera. But I guess Honda is leaving all these features to the Acuras. We still love the car for what we paid for. If you are okay for not having all these bells and whistles that other competitors offers. Then it’s a good choice, Honda is very reliable and so far we are happy with this purchase.

Nice but missing a couple of things
I enjoy the ride. Good pick up. There a few things that disappoint. The back cargo section doesn’t have a shade to cover/hide the contents even tho it has the slots for it. There is no navigation and you must plug your your phone in order to get it to show on screen. There is a platform. That look like a wireless charger but it is not. The lane correction goes off randomly. There is no beep to indicate your car is locked. Mirrors don’t go in when car is locked you have to do it manually. Having had this in my previous vehicle I can easily forget. Back up camera doesn’t beep when close just shows line and only for the back. There is no pocket behind the drivers seat. For the price and being a new vehicle I would have thought some of these things were pretty standard.

Major steering defect
Leased a new 2023 Honda CRV Sport Touring Hybrid last summer. Initially the car was good; but in recent months the steering progressively has started stuttering and now locking when turning. This now appears to be a major emerging issue nationwide. The agency has driven the car and acknowledged the problem. They say the problem is with the Rack and Pinion module. They said they already have had to order an RPS module for another client for similar reasons. They anticipate the replacement RPS to arrive in 6 months. They have offered a rental vehicle with surrender of my vehicle until the car is fixed. So basically I leased a specific car (specific VIN) and must continue to make payments on a car that cannot be driven and will sit in a lot. Again, this is a major emerging issue with this vehicle. WOULD NOT buy or lease this car until this issue is sorted out.

Extremely disappointing
After owning the car for 9 months I’ve had 3 issues, I’ve had lane assist light come on see dealer. Car is reviving high rpm’s for no reason. Back right window won’t roll down. Part has been placed for order at the Honda dealership. They found of course no issues and told me to take a picture of the lane assist see dealer. That’s exactly what I want to do with two kids in the car is take a picture going down the road of the attention light. I went from South Carolina into North Carolina and went to go climb the Mountain the car literally wouldn’t go. I was with the 18 wheelers in the slow right lane praying they wouldn’t even run me over. Less than 5,000 miles on it!!! I expected more from Honda.

Competent hybrid SUV
On the 2023 Honda CRV EX and Sport Hybrid models the infotainment system is not only undersized at 7 inches but it is a total joke. Graphics are way too small and too much blank space on an already undersized screen. It's nothing more than a glorified FM radio. Sound is nothing to brag about either.

Was happy for first 7 months now there's glitches
Had to give my 2006 honda crv to my daughter so she had a car to drive and it has 263,000 miles on it. Went and bought the crv hybrid, ordered it in November of 2022 and it didn't come in until March of 2023. We loved driving it immediately, very smooth and quiet and great acceleration. I don't care for the GPS system and noticed when we first got car it paired up easily with my Samsung s23 phone and it worked for awhile being able to bring Waze on screen, now it doesn't, have to figure that out. I loved the kick start feature to open up the hatch and now after having car for 7 months it is now not working properly, either doesn't close, or closes halfway or doesn't work at all. Take it back to dealer they say it's probably a simple fix and they reprogram it, when I pick it up later I try it out several times and seems to be working, go to supermarket and it opens but then I go to close it and hatch closes and then pops open again. Then it starts working again. Not feeling too good with a brand new expensive car already having issues, what's next

Awesome small SUV
I live this suv. Handling is far superior to the Outback we replaced. Styling is better than most of the competitors and comfort and ease of use of controls is top notch. Averaging 40 mpg. Non turbo is a plus too
Great Honda Quality
Very good fit and finish. Excellent fuel economy. Peppy hybrid. Comfortable seats. Excellent visibility out of the rear camera.

Headlights and side mirrors
I just purchased a 2023 Honda CRV Touring Sport Hybrid . The first night I drove I noticed that the headlights were off center and was not able to see very well. Also the driver side mirror shakes above 40MPH. Has anyone else notice these two things with their CRV?

2023 Honda crv sport hybrid base model
Gray car- fun to drive and plenty of get up and go in sport mode- mileage so far in high 30’s- so I’m happy with the mileage as I know real world isn’t what’s on the door sticker- the car is big enough for tall drivers- I’m 6’2” and have plenty of head and legroom- the 7 screen isn't all that large but honestly it works well- I don’t have any issues seeing what I need to- comfortable seats/ great visibility and easy to park- I think there’s a reason the CRV is so popular- it does everything a little better than well!

I Want To Like It....
The 2023 CR-V Sport Hybrid does so many things right, but I don't trust the build quality, hybrid powertrain, or reliability for a long term buy. I leased the CRV for 3 years/10,000 miles per year. I'm 1 year into my lease, and at the end, I'll likely trade the CR-V in for something different. Interior: I think the interior is great. The rear doors open 90 degrees which makes it super easy for my kids to get in and out. The trunk is large with a big opening making it easy to carry luggage, etc... The cloth seats are nice, and although I do prefer leather, I think the cloth seats are comfortable for short or long trips and seem to be holding up well with just over 8k miles. Tech isn't anything to write home about, but the infotainment system has worked flawlessly with Apple Car Play which I use almost every time I drive the CR-V. The non-Bose sound system is poor. If you care at all about listening to music or podcasts, go with the Sport Touring and get the Bose sound system. I'm serious, in my opinion the "factory" sound system is really bad. Performance: The CR-V is SLOW. The only time this affects me is when I want to pass someone. We have a lot of 2-way highways where I live where the speed limit is 65. I set my cruise around 70 and if I get behind a slower driver, I have to put it to the floor every time I pass someone and know I have a good stretch of road ahead to make the pass safely. Often times when I do this, I get a burnt/burning smell which doesn't make me feel great about the trans/motor. Comfort: The CR-V is comfortable. The perfect way to put it is the way almost everyone explains it... The CR-V is super easy to live with on a daily basis. It just does things right. It's easy to get in and out of. Blind spots are minimal. Seats are comfortable. Ride is almost like a Volkswagen style ride where you get a firm yet honest road feel. However, I do not agree that this is a quiet car. I wanted to drive the Sport Touring trim which has some additional sound deadening features but wasn't able to due to availability at the time. So many people write and talk about how quiet this vehicle is in the city and on the highway, and I don't agree. The motor is noisy and there's significant wind and tire noise. It's just not that quiet. Also, Honda, please do something about the horn and the reverse noise... The horn is embarrassing, and the reverse hybrid noise is ridiculous. I think my 2017 Silverado LTZ with all terrain tires is quieter than this car. MPG: I get about 29 highway and 41 city. Keep in mind that in Edmunds expert review, they got 33.3 combined which they deemed "disappointing." If you're driving mostly city, get the Hybrid! I've talked to owners getting 48-49 mpg from their CR-V's driving 80/20 city/highway. I do the opposite and drive 20/80 City/Highway and my lifetime average is right at 28. I do auto start the vehicle quite a bit which affects my mileage. I'm happy with it knowing that on the highway I'll get close to 30. If I did it again, I would put a little more thought into the 1.5L turbo motor which seems to do just as well if not better on the highway and eliminates the hybrid system. Issues: I've had this 2023 CR-V back to the dealer 2 times for warranty and 1 time for a concern. The first was an ECU flash update which wasn't a big deal. The second was the transmission recall. My entire transmission was replaced at 6k miles. It's important to note that there was absolutely nothing wrong with my transmission. It was one of the few that had a part that "could have" been installed broken or backwards. In my eyes, my new car just had a big surgery which affects resale, long term reliability, and trust in the vehicle. I don't care that it got a new transmission from Honda, I don't trust long term reliability of the CVT. Lastly, there's something going on with the steering on this vehicle. It doesn't bother me at slow speeds, but at highway or cruising speeds, there seems to be a "stickiness" in the steering. I've read the steering racks could be bad as this was seen on many Accords, but Honda hasn't addressed it with the CR-V. I brought it back to the dealer for this concern, and they deemed it "normal." I'll live with it for now, but it's not normal. Styling: Some say Honda played it safe with the styling of the 2023 CR-V. I think that's probably true, but I really like how my white CR-V looks. I get compliments often, and when it's clean, it's a sharp midsize SUV.

Average Joe gas mileage
Drove my sisters 2023 CRV Hybrid touring for a week-32.5 MPG. Total joke might as well buy the regular version. I drove normal on the highway and in town, Honda can't touch Toyotas hybrid system. Its a great driving car-fancy interior. If somebody tells you otherwise they get the sticker MPG they are full of BS.

If you're a car guy...
...or gal...or one yet to make up your mind...this is the pretty clear choice in the segment. The other review is correct, and Edmunds official info. is incorrect, re: this NOT having wireless CarPlay (wired only). I personally am okay with this, as the sound quality is better with wired, though I only say "okay" and not "fine" b/c it's true that a car/SUV at this price point in 2023 should have wireless. I disagree with the person who said the sound quality is bad, though; it isn't. Once you accept you're just going to be always plugging-in your phone, which I've been used to prev. anyway, it becomes not the biggest deal. This is the smart trim level, at least for me, as a lot of the things it doesn't have (another example: leather) I wouldn't necessarily want. Yes, Hyundai/Kia will give you more features and a better looking screen for this price...that's not irrelevant (and this isn't a 5-star review), and/but my parents have a (non-hybrid) current-gen Tucson, and while I like it's tech, it rides like flint...and the engine sounds like flint sometimes. In contrast, CR-V drives like latest tech. out of Japan, which it is. *This is a review of the SUV [a couple weeks in], and not the dealer/dealer experience*
blind spot

CR-V Sport Touring trim is worth the extra $$
After 7 straight high-end Accord leases, the 2023 Accord was lengthened and no longer fit in my garage. While I was delighted with the Accords, I switched and leased the new highest trim CR-V hybrid, the Sport Touring trim which is 7-8" shorter than the Accord, though it doesn't look it. It is the most refined Honda I've had yet, and excels in nearly every category. While it's not as fast as my previous 10 speed Accord (neither is the new Touring Accord with that powertrain no longer offered), my CR-V has terrific off-the-line torque and acceleration, and more than adequate pep on the highway when passing. It has amazingly little body roll for a taller vehicle, a taut but very muted ride, less road noise, and terrific seats (I'm told they're a little tight for "wider" drivers). The ergonomics are perfect, the overall handling is excellent for an SUV, and I'm meeting EPA numbers in highway driving, and exceeding those numbers on the urban cycle. I usually see 40-42 mpg in my supermarket commute of 8 miles, and 37-38 mpg per tankful with mixed driving. Yes, when you tromp on the throttle, you hear the engine rev up, but it's not coarse or at all unpleasant. Braking is terrific, with no hybrid weirdness. The E-CVT is not a "regular" CVT and is responsive and a pleasure with its simulated shifts. Wind noise is minimal, and this is the quietest Honda ever...I presume the 2023 Accord Touring is just as quiet, and probably a tad faster with a lighter weight. On the other hand, my CR-V has AWD, and in Buffalo that's going to come in handy every now and then. Okay--here are some of the advantages to stepping up to the Sport Touring trim over the Sport. It has extra soundproofing in the glass and wheel wells exclusive to the trim, and if you test it vs the Sport, the difference is quite discernible. You get 19" wheels vs 18". The premium 12 speaker Bose system is the best ever in any Honda, available only in Touring editions of the CR-V, Civic, and Accord. With the overall quiet in my trim, the sound system is sublime compared to my previous 2020 Touring Accord. You get leather seats, a flexible power hands-free rear gate, the 9" (vs 7" in the Sport) touchscreen, heated steering wheel (NA Sport), navigation (NA Sport), standard AWD vs FWD on Sport, standard HD radio (NA Sport), satellite radio (3 months) NA Sport, wifi hotspot (NA Sport), & power passenger seat (NA Sport). What's missing? The HUD and ventilated seats I had in my 2020 Touring Accord. What's the greatest thing for aging drivers? The seat height is PERFECT getting in and out, as opposed to the low seats in the Accord. The overall level of refinement is luxurious for this class vehicle, but as much as road noise has been dampened in the Sport Touring trim, there is still room for improvement on coarse pavement. All in all, it's a pleasure to drive. And for young families, rear doors open 90 degrees, making kiddies/car seats much easier a task for parents. With the high voltage rear electric motor in the hybrid, there's a tire repair kit and no room for a spare. I haven't had a flat in decades, but that's something which might prove to be a problem along the line. Both hybrids have identical powertrains and suspensions, and both have very stylish and attractive interiors. The Sport w/FWD does get a little better mpg, but both vehicles are great values, and both have terrific greenhouse visibility all around, along w/more than 76 cu ft storage w/rear seats down. Finally, my CR-V in Canyon River Blue Metallic is a looker. I don't fish for compliments, but it has garnered plenty in parking lots. Honda could do some work on more interior colors, and maybe exterior choices too, but this color blue makes for the best looking Honda I've had. I would never get a car based only on its looks, but the styling on this trim is a huge bonus, especially from the front. Can you tell I love this vehicle? UPDATE: The only flaw is some inexplicable dropouts in my Sirius/XM signal (Sirius/XM isn't available anymore in most Hondas, including the Accord Touring). These dropouts almost never occurred in my previous Accords, and I don't think they're due to blocked signals. I think there's an electronic glitch. It's quickly fixable by bringing up the home screen and hitting Sirius/XM, but that's a little bit of a nuisance. Once in a great while, I get an inexplicable rattle from somewhere inside the instrument panel, but it always goes away by the next trip. Not worth having the dealer disassemble the dash to find it because of its infrequency. All other functions after 16 months are essentially flawless, and it remains a true pleasure to drive! Now, at 22 months into my lease, all continues fundamentally well...except for an occasional rattle at 60-65 mph somewhere inside the dash...and too frequent dropouts of my Sirius/XM signal not related to terrain or building, as well as the clock sometimes, at starting, running 3-3.5 hours behind before resetting itself within 5 minutes. Still thoroughly enjoy this vehicle!

5-star Car
Absolutely love this vehicle. It is aesthetically pleasing to the eye and it drives like a dream. It is very comfortable inside and is very spacious. I travel a lot for work and always have a car full of supplies and equipment. So this car suits my needs and lifestyle perfectly. I thank my sales person, John Marshall, from Atlantic Honda for suggesting it to me.
