Sport Civic!
Very nice car. Sporty, feels like it should cost more. Honda reliability. Looks almost as good as the SI.

STARTING TO HAVE SECOND THOUGHTS.
I've always liked a car with a bit more gitup & go than most folks so I bought a 2019 Civic Si. Now this car ain't no Ferrari you understand, but with 205 HP it does zip around with a bit more spirit than most compacts & sub compacts (and I haven't even driven it in SPORT mode yet!). The handling is precise, braking is very good and it corners like a dream on I-5 mountain roads in S. Oregon. The selection in these parts was pretty slim so I ended up with a black exterior and the only choice available for interiors is black, not my favorite combination but not a deal breaker either. I like the styling but I'm no fan of spoilers, I wish it was removable. I've folded down the rear seats and they'll probably stay that way (no kids, grandkids or wife!) providing a LOT of cargo space. (Update: Put them back up due to road noise.) Now, lets go inside. First of all the transmission is kinda finicky in that you'd BETTER know what gear you want and where it is or you'll end up with the tach going crazy or a lugging engine. With time I'll get better using it (under 1K miles so far). When you DO get the right gear and give the engine ample throttle it'll SPIN right quickly and suddenly it's time for the next upshift! I LIKE IT!! When in reverse there's a video camera picture on the screen showing what's behind the car, like a lot of new cars these days, and that's a great feature, as is the camera showing what's in the right lane when the turn signal is on (none for the left lane unfortunately). You understand I've been driving a 1995 Toyota pickup for 24 years and all this new fancy stuff has me all giddy! The digital screen showing speed, tachometer etc. has several options, some of which are of dubious value (do I REALLY want to know how many "G" forces my body is being subjected to?!!) However, when the road speed and tach are showing there's other information available I like such as average fuel consumption, mileage left until next fill up, outside temperature, etc. I'm no big fan of listening to the radio when I'm driving so the intertainment system holds little interest for me. Outside of all that the layout of the cab suits me just fine with plenty of storage spaces to put things I'll end up discarding in six months!! Seats, nothing to write home to Mother about but sufficiently comfortable just the same. I'm going to like this car, an at my age it's likely to be the last one I own. Honda done good! (Note: The "car details" right below this review do not accurately reflect my vehicle) Update @ 4300 miles: The sport tires I bought make a lot of noise and I'll try to find something quieter when they need replacing.

Not In Love With It After 75,000 miles.
After having it for 3 years and 75,000 miles. There are a few things that I really do not like about this car: 1. How Low It Is: Being low is one thing, but when you have every other cars headlights directly in your eyes and reflecting off your side mirrors into your eyes is a huge issue. I feel like your eye level in this car is lined up with every other cars headlights and driving this car down a dark road with traffic coming the other way is straight up blinding. Make sure if you get the sport its raised a little bit. Also not sure if it comes with the more expensive trims, but auto dimming side mirrors would be a great solution if you are going to design a car so low to the ground. 2. Doors are too narrow: I get that its a smaller vehicle, but the most frustrating thing is if you're into buying furniture, there can be more than enough room in the cabin to fit a chair, small desk, etc. , but getting it through those super narrow doors in the back is a no go. I've noticed the newer models arent as narrow, maybe the design team realized this too ? Seats: This car got a good rating in the comfort area, but I don't necessarily agree. I'm on the bigger side but i'm not huge (5'10" 200lbs) and I find it hard to get comfortable after sitting in these seats for more than a half hour. There is no lumbar support and after having it for 3 years, I still cannot find the correct settings for my seat. Technology Issues: I just have little petty issues with apple carplay and android auto that seem to be glitchy and not run the best every here and there. The remote start works when it wants to and it has happened to me multiple times and apparently others where i've left the keys in the car by accident and the car will lock itself with the keys in the car still. I know this isn't 100% the cars fault, but it shouldn't be doing that. Automatic Cruise Control is good, not great. I know its newer technology so I cut it some slack, overall it is a fantastic feature and I used it probably 75% of the time driving. Only complaint I have about it is sometimes even set at 4 car lengths apart, it'll still stop short if everyone ahead does. Kind of defeats the purpose. Also another thing which isn't a big deal but still kind of an annoyance, if set on ACC mode and you also have eco mode on, when accelerating it will still go up to 5000, 6000 RPM. *EDITED* Last thing I wanted to mention that annoys me also is the glove box doesn't have a lock on it, for those who like to added security in case you forget to lock the car, youre beat

Civic Sport 6 speed manual white
I’ve ridden motorcycles for 30 some years but decided to sell my bike and call it quits before I get ran over. I feel lucky I was able to ride that long without a serious incident. I still want something exciting to drive and shift my own gears but I wanted something reliable also. I chose the naturally aspirated 6 speed manual Civic for all of these reasons. I’m nearly 50 and I’ve been around cars and motorcycles all of my life and in my experience I know that turbo engines and automatic transmissions don’t have the longevity of their opposites. The Civic is light and athletic and handles extremely well. It’s a slow car that can be driven fast if you know what I mean. I keep it in my garage and will not drive it when roads are salted as I want to preserve it as long as I can and teach my youngest son to drive a manual with as I did my oldest who still owns the Mazda 2 5speed I bought him to learn to drive brand new in 2011. Learning to drive with a manual definitely gives you driving skills you’ll never know if you didn’t. Anyway I love this little Honda for what it is and I think you will too.

middle age commuter
Definitely the perfect vehicle for a college student or college graduate starting their new job. Excellent gas mileage, safety features and a very reliable car. The SI has a sporty look and catches your eye at stop lights or while driving by. The SI also has plenty of get up and no problem merging into major highways which is a plus. This new model has also increased leg room and head room to sit 4 medium sized adults comfortably. I'll be driving this car for several months then passing it down to my youngest son when he starts college. For me it gives me piece of mind and not having to worry about my son breaking down in the city or while driving back and forth from college.
