No problems at all. Have gotten 50.3 mpg on a highway road trip with Econ and cruise. Peppy performance; fun to drive. Planning to keep car 150-200,000 miles. Performing maintenance per “minder “ should allow that goal with minimum surprises as I’m not hard on a car. Not the easiest car for me to get into but very comfortable and a “secure” feeling once inside. Have gotten great comments about its looks—great looks and “flashy “ red ‼️🚘

Best of 2016...not bad 2017

2017 Honda Civic EX-T 4dr Sedan (1.5L 4cyl Turbo CVT)

When Civic hit the road in 2016, it was the best compact car on the market with its unique turbo engine and fantastic handling. Now that it's 2017, Civic has serious competition. The 17 Elantra handles almost as well and has a bunch smarter, prettier, comfortable interior with technology (including blind spot monitoring) available on all trims rather than select trims like the Civic. The 17 Corolla now comes standard with forward collision technology thats only available on Civics for an extra 1,000 if you're lucky to find on on the lot. If you want the best performing sedan/hatch/coupe, civic wins., but if you want interior quality, look elseware as civic falls behind both toyota and hyundai by a large margin. The seats are some of the most generic quality I've seen in a car ever. The armrests in the center console and door are a spandex/nylon material stretched over plastic--is extremely rough/uncomfortable to the touch and attacts dirt so fast your car will look like you bought it form a used lot within 3 months.

Stay away from any Honda with the 1.5 Turbo

Joe, 10/22/2018
2017 Honda Civic EX-T 4dr Sedan (1.5L 4cyl Turbo 6M)

I would only lease this car and give it back before the 36,000 mile warranty and I would not buy it. I repeat do not buy this car only lease it, unless you are getting it without the 1.5 Turbo. The reason being is that somehow gas is getting into the 1.5 Turbo engines oil which is not normal. Honda says there is nothing wrong and refuses to look into the issue because there is no check engine light. However an independent oil lab (Apex Oil Lab) says that there is 5% fuel disillusion and to change the oil before the 5,000 miles which is the mileage I change my cars oil. If you do research this issue is mainly in the CR-V but is also showing in the Civic and Accord with the same engine. In addition the overall quality is not as great as what Honda's are know for they have cheep seat fabric, cheep carpet, and questionable long term reliability. I wish I had never gotten rid of my 20 year old accord that worked flawlessly with over 280,000 miles. However the strong points of the car is the is amazing fuel economy, acceleration/power, styling, and available creature comforts.

Bought it new in 2017. I only have 7000 miles on it 3 years later. A little tough to get in and out. I'm 6ft 2in tall and 250 lbs and hit my shins once in a while. Drives great and plenty of pep. Only had 1 problem. The a/c was acting funny. Come to find out it was overcharged by a half a pound due to the system being assembled at a different elevation. Sounds weird but true. The a/c assembled and charged on east coast at sea level. I live in high elevation. Other than that it's been great. It also came with 17 inch wheels. UPDATE: Just responding to people about certain issues. I'm pretty tall. 6'2 and 245 lbs. I don't have a problem fitting in. Getting out is another story. If you have the seat dropped down to the floor it can be tough getting out. Oh and to the guy who said driving the car gave him plantar faciatis. Yeah right. Its impossible to get bone spurs when your driving. I'll admit the seats aren't very comfortable at all. But this is a base, plain Jane, no frills model. I paid 18 grand plus taxes and fees. The motor is still a honda and you will get 200k out of it easy. It won't nickel and dime you to death when all the little things that are technology driven start breaking. This car doesn't have that. Your biggest worry will be making sure you change the oil every 4 to 5 thousand miles and make DARN sure you service that CVT transmission every 25 to 30 thousand miles or every 6 years. Whichever comes first. Or else it will prematurely fail. It needs the new fluid more often than your standard automatic transmission. ONLY USE HONDA CVT TRANSMISSION FLUID. Or else the transmission will be damaged. These Honda cars are fluid specific. Just like their power steering systems. Don't use just any cvt fluid. Its Now 12-10-2022. Still have the vehicle. 12000 miles and i still love the car. No major issues at all. Battery replaced after 4 years. June 2023 14500 miles and no problems.

Good car, great mileage, low maintenance

Bought a 2017 Honda Civic Si back on July 2017. Great commuter car and great on gas. No issues for the first 2 years besides usual oil changes. After the 2 years, brakes are starting to squeal and battery died after 2.5 months. For a new car, would've expected the battery to last longer but have read from other owners that the OE batteries Honda uses are pretty wimpy.

A dozen Toyotas and a brand new Honda Civic--love!

We've owned a dozen Toyotas since 1977, but never a Honda. I tested both companies before settling on the Civic, and for me no comparison. The navigation system, miles per gallon, and overall performance was all-Honda. I love this new vehicle, and would recommend it to anyone with enough time to hear my bragging.

Civic Touring Coupe

Andre Libert, 10/01/2017
2017 Honda Civic Touring 2dr Coupe (1.5L 4cyl Turbo CVT)

Traded in a Mustang GT stick with 435 hp@12 mpg city! By comparison, the Civic gets outstanding mileage, while handling is great. The engine provides enough get up and go to meet needs of most owners. The Civic Coupe is a very sporty looking vehicle, and the touring model is top of the line with leather seats, navigation and other great features. Shortcomings are no power seats nor lumbar support; Good climate control but Toyota Corolla has system easier to navigate when you want to make a quick adjustment. Trunk is a tad small, and front fenders a bit too low resulting is hitting curbs if not extremely careful. Overall, a great looking car which performs in a very economic way!

Did a lot of research before buying. This car is an affordable quality car which is a pleasure to drive. The 2017 model is virtually identical to the 2020 model. Great looking car, with lots of safety features, lots of automated convenience features, all on top of a good performance and handling vehicle. I am delighted with my purchase.

Can't Get Much Better For $20k

Alice, 12/30/2017

I have now been leasing this vehicle for a year and it has been a wonderful car. The only downside to the vehicle is I have the larger head-unit in mine and sometimes it can fight my Apple CarPlay. When it works - which is about 95% of the time - it is AMAZING. When it doesn't work, I spend a solid 5-10 minutes restarting my car and rebooting the system over and over to get it to work properly. Other than that the only other downside to her is the interior feels very cheap and plastic. The seats are not the most comfortable either. BUT with the technology offered - Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, SeriusXM, color digital gauge display, remote start, heated seats, auto lights - it is easy to overlook the poor quality and the sometimes difficult radio. Overall, for the price and cost of maintenance (a whopping $70 oil change with tires rotated) it is an excellent daily driver that is easy to fall in love with.
