2020 Honda Accord EX-L 4dr Sedan (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 10A)

Just got my Accord EX-L 2.0T and 10 A/T about a week ago, coming from a 2008 Infiniti G35x. Even though the Infiniti had 50 more horsepower, the Accord is a HUGE upgrade. I can't get over how nice it feels just to sit in this car and drive it. Already I've noticed so many good things about the Accord. Everything from the materials, to the technology, to the comfort and luxuriousness. The new car smell is nice to have too. I'll try to be as thorough as I can with this review, touching on some of the good things as well as the iffy things. The 2.0t is a good engine. Although, coming from a naturally aspirated V6, the turbo four took some getting used to. It has somewhat of a classic turbo feel where it feels like nothing, nothing, and then you're flying. It's a smooth transition between boost and non-boost, so I can't complain there. You kind of have to learn how to drive this car and work the pedal, but once you get used to it, this engine feels smooth, refined, quick and peppy. Great engine note as well. The 10-speed also took some getting used to. Being that this has twice the amount of gears my last car had, it has been a bit of an adjustment. You feel more gear shifts than you would in most cars. However, in sport mode, the transmission feels very lively and it shifts quick. You do feel the shifts transmit into the cabin every now and then but it's nothing I can't forgive. Even in normal mode, the transmission keeps the engine in the meat of its power while keeping the RPMs at an efficient level. The only thing I wish from this transmission was that it was better at downshifting. When you step on it, it hunts for gears a little before picking the right one. Best steering feel out of any midsize sedan. I test drove the Camry, Mazda 6, Sonata, Optima, Malibu, Legacy, and the Altima. Accord won it. I also test drove the Kia Stinger and Tesla Model 3, each for a full day, and felt that the Accord really does come shockingly close to those cars in terms of feedback. It's talkative but also polished and expensive. Whenever I let a friend take it around the block, they always note how the steering has zero vagueness and how slick it feels. As for the handling, this is an Accord. However, it's a dynamic feeling Accord. It won't get your heart rate pumping as you whip through a backroad, but the chassis feels flat and stable for a big sedan. I'm able to toss this thing around a corner no problem. This car blends a nice soft sprung suspension with firm and communicative handling very well. My G35x may have had more raw grip, but the Accord has less body lean and better steering communication. I have no complaints with the handling of this car. The Accord is also extremely roomy. Back seat is far roomier than a Jeep Grand Cherokee I was looking at. A 6'3 person could sit back there and be perfectly comfortable on a long drive. Very high quality materials in the back seat as well as the front. It's a nice place to be. The Accord is also wide on the interior. My old car, I felt like I was constantly bumping elbows with my passenger. In this car, there's an insane amount of space between the driver and passenger seat with a nice big center console over it. Very luxurious feeling having that open space. Overall, you get tons of headroom, legroom and storage. The seats are comfortable and the leather looks and feels high quality. Even the design of the seats, with the wide bolsters around the shoulder area as well as the overall curvature looks very premium and feels good to sit in. The leather around the steering wheel is nice and smooth. The buttons feel super solid to touch. I love the attention to detail, like the fact that the ring around the climate control dials changes from blue to red depending on where you turn it, and the little welcome song when you get in the car. The infotainment has amazing graphics, responds like a tablet screen, is relatively easy to navigate and is packed with features. Voice commands respond flawlessly. Doors have a solid thunk to them. Headlights just light up the whole road. Love the little boost gauge that pops up when you put the car in sport mode, it's just a neat little party trick to show people and I love looking at it. Oh, and I can literally start the car from my bedroom. How cool is that?! I can't get over how much I love this car. There are some things to note, though. The infotainment screen has some glitches when it comes to apple car play connectivity. I was using spotify through car play, and the screen froze. Sometimes spotify is very glitchy through apple car play, opening menus I didn't select and things of that nature. Most of the time it works, but there has been a few instances where it gave me a bit of trouble. I also wish the 10-speed was better at downshifting, like I mentioned above. It's a great transmission, aside from that. Other than those slightly iffy things, the Accord has been a great car and I'm loving every bit of it!

The best engineered car for the money

Unbelievable car for the money. Was looking for a 2nd car and had outgrown my Focus ST. Already have an Odyssey so needed a vehicle that I could commute, take 3 kids to their events, and go around town. Considered going Outback or CUV, but kept coming back to the Accord as I value driving dynamics and comfort. A CUV only gives you 50% of that, and for 95% of my life, I don't need AWD and our minivan can handle hauling gear. The amount of care that went I to designing this car is evident. From the huge backseat/trunk, the climate control buttons that light up blue or red depending on which way you turn them, the rearview mirror that's the same shape as the rear window, and well designed center armrest, Honda really nailed the small things well. As far as driving, I miss having a manual transmission, but the 10spd is excellent, doesn't hunt and the engine really pulls and you can use regular gas! I find the cabin really quiet (for the class) on the road and it handles so well. As far as cost to own, it's low maintenance, doesn't have the extra maintenance an AWD system would require and insurance rates for me were on par or lower than other vehicles in it's class and outside that I cross shopped with. I have only 2 knocks and they are minor for me. The sound system is not that great for being a premium one, but it's not horrible. I also kept bumping my right knee into the center console that angles out which is hard plastic. There's a soft padded section under that curve and it took awhile to find a seating position where my knee didn't bump, but it's a slightly lower driving position than I would prefer. Only you can decide whether a car meets your needs or not and so much is subjective (looks, feel, image), but while not popular anymore sedans can meet so many daily needs and this is one of the best. Plus, since they're not selling as well, you can get a killer deal on Accords now! I got close to 20% off msrp on a touring model with only 4 miles on it!

Greatly improved Accord

I truly enjoy navigation from my phone and 38 mpg over 2100 miles. I have been adjusting to cvt on takeoff and finding sweet spot for cruising interstate. It corners great. Definitely worth upgrade to EX and sometimes would appreciate leather for I am concerned about staining the seats. I hear scotts stain guard would help protect the seats. Looking forward to 1200 mile road trip over Easter break. Happy Hondaring!

Honda owner since 1977 The best EXL I have ever bought. The last two Accords have been six cylinders (not available in 2020 Model). I was originally worried about the four-cylinder 1.5 engine but it is Fast enough for me. It has the zip you need for passing and merging onto interstate highways.Among the better features is you can connect your telephone’s map navigation app To the car’s screen. All in all a gold medal product !

Went from 2018 EX-L to 2020 Touring Edition

I was able to upgrade my lease from a 2018 to a new 2020 Touring edition in late October 2020. The drivetrain is still sensational, no major changes except for some welcome features such as ventilated seats, rain-sensing wipers, wireless phone charging, and adaptive dampers. On the latter feature, I'm not certain I appreciate whatever differences exist from my previous model (this is my 7th consecutive high end Accord lease). I suspect the low profile tires and 19 inch wheels would produce a slightly harsh ride without these dampers, which is already biased toward the firm side which favors better handling. Handling characteristics remain best in class or, at least, matched with the soon-to-disappear Mazda 6. My mileage seems down 1 mpg in mixed driving (27-28 mpg) but remains better than EPA, especially on the highway. The biggest flaw in the Accord remains road noise on coarse pavement, although it's very quiet on smoother surfaces. The road noise isn't that obtrusive, but it can be annoying if you're listening to music. Honda needs to make a leap forward in this area; it's been a flaw with every Accord I've had. The radar sensor module seems more exposed to slushy snow which can block the signal than in the previous generation Accord...no problem in powdery snow. The stereo has real power and lots of speakers, but the final product through those speakers leaves something to be desired. I note the new Civic Touring edition comes with a higher quality stereo than the Accord, so I assume this will be remedied in the next generation. Comfort remains superb, and the fun-to-drive quotient remains truly high, especially for a family sedan. It is a blast to tromp on the throttle from time to time, fit and finish is superb, have to watch those 19" wheels which jut out and are more vulnerable to curbs. I consider the Accord a great value and, those flaws aside, a joy to drive. -As of February 2022, no major changes to my original thoughts. Drivetrain and handling remain joys, still annoyed by road noise on coarse pavement, 19" rims are too easy to scuff and damage. Drove through 10" snowstorm a few nights ago on my Michelins, which were a bit better in the snow than I expected. Putting car in Economy mode helps reduce wheelspin when starting from a dead stop. Stereo is okay, powerful, but substandard overall audio quality for a car in this class. Radar sensor module still too exposed to wet snow and becomes obscured...works fine in "fluffier" snow. This is a very low mileage car (6600 miles in 16 months), so wear and tear is minimal. Heater, despite smaller 2.0T dimensions (and less coolant to heat up) is slower to heat than my previous 3.5 liter V-6s, and I'm certain I'm not imagining this. The Accord V6 had a sensational heater, the 2.0 falls a little short. Rear defroster is weak, and has been in all of my 7 Accords. Ride is a tad too firm for these old bones. All these whines aside, I don't imagine switching to a different vehicle when my lease is up. On the whole, my Accords have been as close to bulletproof and as much fun to drive as I could reasonably expect in this price class. -As of early August, 2022, no changes to my earlier laudatory review. My Touring Edition Accord remains a pleasure to drive, every drive, and remains absolutely trouble free. My lease isn’t up for a little more than a year, and I may consider purchasing this car if the supply problem remains so severe. Otherwise, I might consider switching to the hybrid EX-L, though I would then be missing a couple of the spiffy doodads in my current car, like ventilated seats which have been great in this very warm summer. In any case, if there is a new addition of the Honda Accord available, I hope Honda has been working hard on the road noise flaw. Finally, in February 2023, I have nothing really new to add to my previous reviews. The 2020 Touring Edition has been a gem, with the flaws of road noise on coarse pavement and a radar module which coats easily with slushy snow (not powdery snow) and become inoperative still being annoyances. Otherwise, the 2.0 liter/10 speed drivetrain continues to be a blast in a very good handling "family" sedan. This final review on this car is a note of disappointment, not about my current car, but about the 2023 Touring Hybrid edition Accord. The new Accord is now longer, and will no longer fit in my garage, eliminating it from becoming my 8th consecutive high end Accord. The reviews on the new edition in the car mags are far less positive because Honda saw fit to kill the 2.0 liter drivetrain, replacing it with a slower CVT hybrid which doesn't brake as well and doesn't shift as well. All in all, I think Honda has taken a large step backward with the new Accord from what I've been reading, and even if it fit in my garage, I probably would have gone with the CRV Sport Touring Hybrid. AWD would have made it a good substitute for the lackluster Accord, but I'm a lease fella, and the current Honda leases on the high end CRV hybrid are absurdly high. So, it's probably a sad goodbye to Honda.

First Impression: A Great Value

2020 Honda Accord Sport 4dr Sedan (1.5L 4cyl Turbo CVT)

Purchased the Honda Accord Sport 1.5 CVT. As is usual for Honda, this car appears very well designed. Visually, it carries the appearance of a car more expensive than the mid $20s. The 19 inch rims look very nice even if they are a bit impractical given their weight and more expensive tire choices. The Sport's Turbo 1.5 Inline Four is paired with a CVT transmission. If I could have found the manual version, I would have quickly chosen that. Handling is responsive and precise and, despite the smaller engine, power appears more than adequate. There are three selectable driving modes, Normal, "Sport", and "Eco". The best gas mileage supposedly comes with "Eco", but you'll find a more sluggish and frankly barely adequate throttle response. The "Normal" mode will satisfy most and produces a comfortable acceleration response in traffic and freeway environments. The "Sport" mode boosts engine RPM a bit so the turbo response from a stop will be faster, but also the least fuel efficient. No one will be winning drag races with this, but don't be put off by this engine size until you actually try it. I was not a believer in four-cylinder engines before driving this. Acceleration with the CVT is very smooth, and there are paddle-shifters on the Sport for reasons that, considering that there aren't any actual gears in a CVT, remain a bit of a mystery. But they do look good on the steering wheel! The interior is excellent, especially for a car in this price range. Some complain about the vehicle being lower to the ground, but the Accord isn't any different than any other sedan of its type. In fact, I find this easier to get in and out of this than a friend's 2014 Accord. If you have trouble maneuvering yourself into something lower than an SUV, then stick to SUVs. Once inside, there is plenty of head and legroom in front and back. The driver seat is power adjustable in every conceivable way. The dark upholstery is a comfortable mix of cloth and stitched synthetic leather that provides an upscale look. The dash is a combination of analog and multi-function LED displays. The 8-inch infotainment touch display also has hard keys and two control knobs. Everything is easily within reach and reasonably intuitive. With a current phone, and a bit of configuring, Android Auto works well. The Sport doesn't have Sirius integrated into the audio suite, but if you're a Sirius subscriber (i.e. with another vehicle), then you can stream it through your phone at no additional cost. The Sirius App works through Android Auto and is easily accessed through the infotainment display. If you have a separate Sirius receiver with only a 3.5mm audio jack, you'll need to purchase an FM or BT transmitter to pipe it through the vehicle's audio system. The Honda Sensing suite requires a bit of trial-and-error experience to learn the best configuration. The collision avoidance is a nice fail-safe that doesn't interfere with normal driving unless you like to run up close to other cars at high speed. The lane keeping looks most appropriate for highway driving. If you're driving in an area where you might have to maneuver to avoid a road hazard, the system will fight with you a bit, so I usually have it off. Everything in this package can be adjusted by the driver while stopped or in motion. So far, everything on this car works as advertised. This is my third Honda in two years, I still own them all, and I'm not sure where you find a better value. My only current concern with this car in terms of construction is the lower front grill, which is made of a somewhat flexible hard plastic. Plastic grills are pretty standard these day, but this looks a bit thin. I've not read about it being a problem area, and time will tell if it will hold up. For me, the ride is reasonably smooth, but you will feel more of the road in this version because of the low-aspect tires. If you tend to notice every bump, buy a version with fatter tires.

2020 Accord Touring

I have only had the vehicle one week and will update this as needed. First off, the car needed an alignment from the time I took delivery. I chalked up the floaty all over the road feeling to not being used to this vehicle. After a day driving of driving I realized that was not the case and dropped by my local dealer. The tech took me on the ride with him and said it was definitely pulling to the right. The solution was an alignment. That solved the problem but on my way home from the dealer I got a "Tire Pressures Low" light in my instrument cluster. I checked all tires with a gauge and they were the same pressure. Contacted the dealer and they advised the tech did nothing with the tires or pressures. They walked me through recalibrating the TPMS. Light went off. The next day the light returned after about 25 minutes of driving. Again, I checked the pressures and there was no issue. I dropped by my local dealer again to have them check the tires for nails, etc. Nothing in the tires so they reset something else in the vehicle. So far the light has stayed off. This is not something I expected to happen to a vehicle with less than 300 miles on the odometer. My next issue is that my key fob did not registered with the vehicle. When I got in the car the driver's seat did not move into it's normal position I have saved. I realized this after a few minutes of driving and I felt like I was sitting further back from the dash than usual. I looked at the door and saw that it was not set to driver 1. None of the driver setting lights on the door were illuminated. The key had been in the car the entire time since it was started so I am not sure why my settings were not remembered upon start-up of the vehicle. Other than these issues the car does have pros: Nice interior No issues w/road noise as others have stated Roomy but the car doesn't drive like it's a big car Smooth ride Adaptive cruise is smoother than the 2017 Accord I had Cons: 10 spd transmission needs a couple of seconds to kick down when attempting to speed up. Plan your lane changes with this in mind. Stereo system could be better. Sounds tinny with lots of different music types. Not a fan of the push button gear selector. Maybe I'll get used to it?

I had a 2017 EX-L V6, which I loved, but it was hit by lightning in northeast PA! So I went with the 2020 EX-L 2.0T. Have had it for almost two months now, and I’m very happy with it. Even nicer ride and handling than my 2017. It’s quieter too. (The 2020 is the third year of this generation) The 10 speed automatic transmission is smooth. It came with Michelin tires, which are great. I thought the 4 cylinder would be less powerful, but with the turbo, that’s not the case at all. It really takes off if if you need extra acceleration when merging or passing on the highway. Visibility very good. The tech screen positioning and functionality are much improved from last generation. My niece said it looks like a Mercedes.

Amazing car. Smooth ride. Powerful acceleration in the 2.0T. The 10spd auto is so smooth. You get extra features in the sport trim when it is paired with the 2.0 such as a sunroof, Blind spot monitoring and heated front seats. To me, the upgrade was worth it. Interior quality is top for its class and the gas mileage has been decent. I’m a little heavy on the pedal tho. So far this is the best car I’ve ever drove!

I have owned Honda accords all my life , I would never own anything else. The new 2020 is phenomenal , rides like a dream , most reliable car on the road , just keeps winning best car of the year. I had the option of buying a BMW or Mercedes , I wouldn’t for the pure fact that those cars are not reliable and way over priced not to mention that they have tons of electrical problems . Folks nothing on this God given earth is better than Japanese cars they just know how to make them, just look at how many of there cars sell not only in America but world wide. They are the best hands down. Great job Honda , I will always be a loyal consumer because you make an amazing product hands down.

I bought my 2020 Honda Accord Touring 3 years ago. I considered Audi, BMW, and Volvos but you get so much more value and options in this car for about 10 - 15K cheaper. This car has a good balance of being fun to driving and comfortable. I'm very impressed with the power with the larger engine in the Accord Touring. The leather seats and all the options added make you feel like you are in a special car. The standard Honda Sensing package is fantastic. Road departure warning, collision warning/braking, lane keeping, auto distancing with cruise control all work very well but aren't annoying. I've never had a heads up display before, now I'll never buy a car without it! I also enjoy that you can roll down all the windows and open the sunroof with the key when it's hot outside. Why don't all cars have this option? The trunk is huge, especially with the seats folded down. I've actually gotten a smaller Christmas tree home in the trunk twice. It's also nice that this car uses regular unleaded instead of premium. The seat automatically moving back when the engine is turned off makes it easier to get in and out. So, what could be better? I wish the engine was quieter. It has really good power but I have to hear the engine more than I prefer to take advantage of the power. I wish it had all wheel drive so I could get more of the power to the ground without the front wheels losing traction. I average around 24 miles per gallon with mixed driving. However, I do drive mostly in suburban areas and do have a heavy foot. This car is comfortable, sporty, reliable, with tons of options. I would recommend it to anyone.

Have a 2020 EX-L. This is my seventh Accord and have enjoyed every one of them. I've never had to do more than routine maintenance on any of the seven. The new turbocharged 1.5 liter engine has remarkable pep, and I'm averaging 35 MPG through 4500 miles. Very comfortable ride and a nice size trunk. However, the remote start is a joke. I live in a place where the winters are rather cold, and the remote start on my other car, which is an Acura TLX, always worked from inside buildings if the car was within maybe 400-500 feet. The new remote will not work from indoors, and has a range even outdoors of maybe 75-100 feet. What good is a remote start if I have to go outside to make it work. I'd happily pay the extra bucks to be able to use the HondaLink app to start the car, but that is only available on the Touring model. I guess $31,500 isn't enough to pay to get that feature. Shame on you Honda. A black mark for an otherwise nice vehicle.

I am not going to spend a bunch of time writing about the colossal amount of positives and minute details of this car. Because I don’t have time to write a novel! Here are the three main points... 1. Your search for a four door sedan will stop after you test drive this Accord. 2. Get the 2.0t. Just do it. It’s truly a different vehicle from the 1.5 and it doesn’t even cost that much more. 3. Your hardest decision on this car purchase will be what color to get.

The car is very quick and responsive, more so than I expected. The car gets 38 mpg on trips. The front seats are too firm and become very uncomfortable on a long trip. Tire pressure monitor system malfunctioned within days on purchase. Overall, a good car. My 3rd Accord.

While driving on the highway suddenly the Road Departure Mitigation system, Collision Mitigation Braking System and the Adaptive Cruise Control System show up on the dash as problems and functionality is gone and to see your dealer. I took the car back to the dealership and they told me that two brackets was missing that cause the ‘radar’ to shift and need to be replace and the radar realigned. At my cost!! The vehicle did not hit nor run over anything to cause the bracket to break. The car was service four day prior to the radar been dislodged. I think this will be an ongoing problem for many 2020 accord owners. Honda need to correct this issue by repositioning this radar if not owners will continue to have this problem.

Sporty Family Car and its worth every penny

So we bought the 2020 Accord EX and that thing is slick and smooth. For starters, the trunk space is ridiculously large and spacious and it practically swallows everything you put in it. The 1.5T engine never disappoints when called into action on the highway especially merging from the ramp and overtakes like the other vehicles aren't just there. The driver-assist tech is really a good bang for the buck. The seats are quite firm and a bit too much but aside that I really like the character of the car. This is our second Accord and there is a reason we went with an accord a second time. Quality, style, and Speed.

My Accord has a roaring noise similar to riding on a rumble strip. This has occurred since I purchased it in June. I have had it to the dealership four times and have contacted Honda Customer Service. Honda is aware of the problem but they do not have a fix and do not have an estimated time for the fix. So I drive a brand new car with a frightening noise coming from under the dash. People that ride in the car ask what is wrong with the car. I would not recommend this car nor will I ever purchase another Honda vehicle again. Hugely disappointed in the customer service at the dealership and the at Honda customer service.

Unsafe

I think that the Honda cruse control is unsafe. Besides the constant beeping, it will slam on the brakes sometimes for different conditions. For example going over the top of hill in the middle lane at 70 mph it apparently picked up a truck in the right lane and slowed to 55 before I could cancel it. Starting up a steep grade with no traffic in front of me doing 70 mph it slowed to 50, detecting the patch in the pavement as a car, I guess. Passing a line of trucks going up a grade, it slowed at every shadow. It also slams on the breaks on curves when on coming traffic crosses in front of the car, or it looses a car in front and re-acquires it. The worst was passing a car doing 50mph, no striping when I signaled, but as I started to change lanes I crossed a line, the system slammed on the brakes and tried to force me back into the rear of the car I was overtaking, note, lane assist was not on. Honda needs to fix this, to date nobody at the dealer seems concerned or was even willing to look at it. There are other times not as drastic and the cause is undetermined

Defective Transmission

New 2020 Honda Accord Sport 1.5T – I purchased this vehicle from Autonation Honda in Chandler, Arizona 6 weeks ago. I have not made the first payment yet on this vehicle and according to the dealership, the transmission is defective and needs to be replaced. Not only does my vehicle have a defective transmission but the hood cover insulation had a major stain which leads me to believe that this vehicle was also leaking something from the engine. I do not feel safe in this vehicle nor will I risk my family’s safety on a car that has major defects such as a transmission failure. As a family we take many road trips and I don’t want to imagine what could have happened if our brand new car failed on us in the middle of the desert with no cellphone reception. I did my research online and I thought that it would be a great purchase since Honda has a reputation for reliability and this car in particular is supposed to be one of the best. I no longer want this car and I am requesting Honda to please refund this purchase. Thank you!

Accord LX base model = VALUE and MPG

First time Honda buyer here. I wanted something practical, well-build and roomy for my wife, kindergartner and I. Started the lease in late JAN 20 and only have 3k miles on it, but great car! Fuel economy is unreal. Not a ton of freeway driving, but I easily average 38 mpg and above. On a family trip from AZ to NM it averaged 43 mpg, so this continuously variable transmission was engineered extremely well. Smooth ride, has a light-weight feel to it, great leg room front and back seat, and roomy trunk space. A fantastic A to B car. Slightly plain, but higher trims can add to the excitement factor. (and cost) If there was one negative mark, I'd say it's the brake assist feature. First month driving the car I'm heading straight at about 50 mph in the middle lane, and another car pulled onto the street staying in the left lane. I'm traveling faster than this other car, but again, we're in separate lanes. My car's break assist engaged and slowed me down, thinking I was on a collision course or something. Thankfully no one else was behind me or I probably would have been rear ended. I don't trust the computer sensor anymore and turned the brake feature off. Problem solved!

Sensor & Camera are a major design flaw

I drove through the snow yesterday and my dashboard lit up like a Christmas Tree. The warnings were for the Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Mitigation Braking System, and Road Departure Mitigation System Problem. In addition, the Braking System warning light came on. This has happened previously in the rain, but the warning lights would shut off in a matter of minutes. I called the Honda dealer service department and they stated that it was because of the location of the cameras and sensor. I was concerned and made an appointment anyway. Of course, the lights all turned off on my way to the dealership - this was over 24 hours after I drove through the snow. This is a case of over-engineering and a major design flaw. At the dealership that told me I'd have to live with it. I told them no way - after having a 2020 Honda Accord EX-L for 4 months, I'm going to trade it in.

I had not bought a new card for a very long time, and when the opportunity arrived I went for a new Accord. Absolutely no regrets aside from having to suffer through the 731 page owner manual (twice) and essentially learn about the latest driving technology from scratch. Yes, I do from time to time wander out into the dark garage and just sit and enjoy.

Excellent drive but noisy interior

I love the way the car drives. The four-cylinder 1.5L engine sounds like and is smooth like a six-cylinder engine. Not as fast as one, but not a problem. It's fast enough. Most reviewers online complain about the CVT, but I actually prefer it over the automatic. I test drove both. No shifts, RPMs are always low in the city, and smooth acceleration from a stop. It feels like an electric car. My biggest complaint is the interior noise. Not only the normal stuff while on the highway like tire noise and wind noise, but also rattles caused by manufacturer defects. One major rattle noise is coming from the driver's seatbelt assembly on the b-pillar, right next to my left ear! Worst location ever for a rattle. No matter how faint it is, you can hear it loud and clear! The first dealer pretended to fix it but didn't. The second dealer was dismissive of me and of the seriousness of the problem. After diagnosing the problem, they asked me to reschedule, although I had to wait three weeks for that appointment. The customer service I received from these two dealership made me realize I made a mistake when I decided not to to buy a Lexus. Honda dealerships do not care. If you are considering a Lexus ES, get it. It's not as nimble as the Accord, but at least you get a better build quality and a much better customer service.

Took 3 weeks to find a dealership that could get it when I wanted with everything I wanted. Drives like a dream. The Nav system now has the capability to sync with the Waze GPS app thru the downloaded Android Auto App. The only thing I miss is the automatic telescoping steering wheel my Lexus had but still a great car!!! The turbo engine is nice and powerful.

This car is amazing. Feels luxurious and comfortable without completely turning into an "old people car". It has a bit of spunk to it. I wish the exterior styling was a bit less funky without unnecessary plastic but it is better than previous versions of this car and the civic which is a plus for me. Very well equipped.

A good, but bland automobile

I purchased a 2020 Honda EX-L sedan on October 10, 2020. I did so because the transmission in my previous auto, a 2014 Ford Fusion Hybrid, went out at 116,000 miles. I replaced the transmission with a used one, but because I was concerned about driving a car with a used transmission as well as wondering when the batteries in the Ford might give out (which would cost thousands to replace) I decided to buy a new vehicle. Living in a small town in Kentucky, I wanted to buy a vehicle locally so I wouldn’t have to travel far for any maintenance. I wanted another sedan, as I’m not a fan of SUVs. I didn’t want another Ford, had driven Chevys, don’t like Chrysler products and didn’t like how the new Toyotas were styled, so I chose a Honda. My decision was aided by my mechanic, who told me they were the most reliable sedans, based on his experience. I picked a champagne-colored Accord, with light-colored (kind of very light grey) leather seats. The car has a lot of standard features, such as cruise control, blind spot sensing, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, cross-traffic monitor. back-up camera, adaptive cruise control, automatic bright lights, heated seats, a 450-watt premium audio system with 10 speakers, and an 8-inch display touch-screen. The car’s interior is fairly quiet (but not as quiet as my old Ford). The seats are very comfortable. There’s plenty of room for passengers in the back-seat area. Both front seats are heated and have power adjustments. So far, I’m averaging a little over 31 MPG combined city/open road driving. Not bad as I habitually drive fast on the interstates (at least 80; I’ve got a radar detector). I got better MPG with the Ford, but it was a hybrid. The touch-screen is easy, intuitive and programmable; better than my Ford. However, I’m not a fan of the radio channel presets being at the bottom of the screen, which forces me to scroll left or right. My old Ford had six together on one screen. There needs to be more charging ports up front. There’s a “cigarette lighter” type charger and a USB port in the area below the radio and in the console. My Ford had more. There’s also not a charging port for the back-seat passengers. My Ford had one. The Honda doesn’t come with rain-sensing windshield wipers like my Ford. The cross-traffic monitor’s warning signal isn’t loud enough and doesn’t seem to pick up approaching vehicles very quickly. My old Ford was better. I use the car’s Android Auto feature (you can also use its Apple equivalent). However, you must connect the phone with a USB cable. I can listen to satellite radio while the Android Auto is engaged, but if the map feature is up on the screen, I’ve got to push the “Home” button on the display screen to toggle back to satellite radio if I want to change channels. That’s cumbersome and not well thought-out. I do, however, like the direction arrows that pop up on the left side of the instrument cluster (where the tachometer is) when getting driving directions (that’s a cool feature). I also like the way you can program the left side of the cluster to show different features. I’ve programmed mine to show the tachometer, MPG, and miles to go till empty. That’s definitely better than my Ford. The volume during calls could be louder for me (I’ve played in bands for 50 years and am half-deaf). The volume for music, etc is plenty loud. I like the way I can send and receive text messages while driving. That’s a definite safety feature. The air conditioning doesn’t seem to be as cooling as my old Ford, but it’s hard to compare now as I’m writing this in early November 2020. I’ll have to wait and see how well the system performs when warmer weather returns. It accelerates pretty well. I can merge onto the interstate with acceleration to spare. It’s never going to win many races, but it’s not designed to run at Daytona. As mentioned earlier, the car is a lovely color, but frankly, the exterior is a little bland. I may be an old coot, but I never want to drive an “old man” car. The Honda is dangerously close to this designation. However, to be fair, it’s very good at what it does, which is to get you from point “A” to “B” in comfort with good fuel economy. The trunk space is huge. My old Ford’s was halfway taken up with hybrid batteries, so I love all the extra space. The back seats fold down and you have access to the trunk, so you can load longer items, if necessary. As you might be able to tell, I loved my Ford Fusion, and perhaps when I’m through grieving its loss, I may very well learn to like the Accord. But for now, it’s like getting vanilla at Baskin-Robbins when you’re used to rocky road. It’s okay, but not the same. But if you like vanilla, the Accord will perfectly fit the bill.

I've had this car for three years now and put about 60,000 miles on it. I do a lot of driving both for work and road trips. Overall, this is the best car I've driven: Most high tech comes standard, reliable engineering, extremely comfortable cabin, huge trunk space, sporty look, and best of all - I average about 34 mpg without being in economy mode. When I turn that on, I average around 42 mpg. My family has bought Accords for years now, and this 2020 model exceeds all my (already high) expectations. If you're thinking of getting one, don't hesitate!

Excellent!!! Very impressed with this vehicle. After 5000 miles, the performance of this vehicle is astounding. No problems so far. After 10000 miles, still very impressed with this vehicle.

I’ve been a Honda owner in the past. From 1000 miles on my car has been juddering and slipping underneath. I’ve driven cvr cars in the past and this one is horrible.Every time it’s brought to the dealer I guess some BS excuse on how everything is normal. On top of that Honda corporate refuses to call me back and have been ignoring me. Please stay away from Honda’s. An reliability you though was there in the past isn’t. To top it off if you lease the car they don’t even allow lease transfers. So your stuck. Please stay away. Do yourself a favor. Honda doesn’t care. They truly don’t. I wish I would have known this sooner.

Preface: I am a automobile enthusiast and predominately owned and driven German cars. Before I bought this car I owned the Flagship BMW 750Li Msport. I actually had two of the 750Lis in a row, both times i was Tboned by distracted drivers - I needed a car and was attracted to the gas mileage and styling of the New Accord. I say all that to say this is a very boring vehicle to drive, it has tons of road noise, the cheapest tires (goodyear) Ive ever had on a vehicle, multiple software issues and some of the cheapest materials I have seen in a vehicle. The stereo is unimpressive as well - no bass, no depth to the music. Honestly I would expect this quality from a Kia or such - but not Honda and certainly not the Motor Trend Car of the Year. Maybe this is just the "Sport" model as I know the 2.0T model gets Michelin tires etc. The apple carplay and bluetooth system is sketchy at best, the adaptive cruise control fails weekly and shuts off, If you have more than one phone connected the system gets confused, the CVT transmission is soft and vague, the paddle shifts are a joke, the interior carpet is the lowest form of carpet available, floor mats are less than walmart generic quality and the tires need to be recalled. The Goodyear overpriced tires - I have owned the Accord for 1 year and 1 week (bought it brand new) - driven it 14,000 miles - within that time frame I have had 6 flats and had to buy 2 new tires at $185 each....AND I just dropped it off for another flat and awaiting the dreadful phone call - will I be buying a third subpar goodyear tire today? Anyway - if you drive this car in eco mode and really take it easy you can easily get 37-40 mpg on highway and interstate drives. The gas mileage IS impressive for a car this size. It is an attractive vehicle and gets great gas mileage....but that is the only Two Pros of this car. Again please understand - I have driven solid german made vehicles all of my life and they are the quietest, firm, solid and quality built machines. My review may not be the best for this car as I compare it to flagships of other makers and that may not be fair. My girlfriend drives a 2014 Accord LX V6 and it is a much better driving vehicle and solid ride. Not sure what happened to this version of the Accord...were they trying to beat the price point of the Camry?
