Used 2005 Honda Accord Consumer Reviews
Quietist Honda Ever
I have never owned a quieter car, and I have had 15 of them in the last 25 years. It has plenty of power, gets 28 mpg in rush hour traffic, has room for my family, which includes two men over 6'3", and all the features I could ever want. It was the best $22,000 we could have spent.
Drive Great - Not Japanese Anymore
The Honda Accord is a blast to drive, and gets reasonable, if not great, mileage. Cost to own will be in line with Honda's of the past. Honda stands behind their cars, but I did NOT expect to find any Honda that had problems direct from the factory. My car had major window seal leaks, and water in the car after the first rain. The dealership promptly fixed, but left an indelible impression on my opinion of their manufacturing process, which in my previous 3 Accords and 1 Civic were NEVER at issue. We'll see. Overall, an excellent car, and I hope to be able to write a different opinion as this car ages a bit. Jim, in Shawnee, KS

Fun Car to Drive
This car is a joy to drive. I have enjoyed the fact that it is quieter than previous Accords and gives a smoother ride. It has great pick-up and cruises extremely well on the open road. This has gotten excellent gas mileage. I get about 25 to 27 on all around driving and 31 to 34 on open road driving. The Navigation system has been helpful at times. However, it would be nice if it could yield routes other than the interstate. Seats are very comfortable- love the seat warmers. This car has been a pure pleasure to own and drive!
6 Speed Coupe Makes for Lively Commute
Been commuting in Hondas since 1989-- two Civics and one Accord, all 4- cylinder 5-speeds. All very reliable, intelligently designed, and peppy enough to pass (as long as you were already moving--and didn't have the AC on). The 6-speed coupe is a very large performance leap from the 4-cyl. Accord. A little low on torque (210 lbs.), 1st gear is something you want to punch and get out of; 2d gear, conversely, will knock your head back. Uphill acceleration is phenomenal (even with the AC on). Shifting is very smooth and intuitive. While this car loves RPMs in the 4-6k range, it is also very much at home in stop and go traffic. Love the fact that this 6- speed takes REGULAR gas. 16k and no probs.
Runs Forever
This is our 3rd Accord LX 4 cylinder (See similar reviews under 97 Accord and 2000 Accord Runs Foverer). 97' LX model has 209000 miles & still going strong with no major repairs, 2000 LX model has 73000 miles with no repairs. The new 2005 model finds an excellent middle ground between the 97', which runs and feels like a sports coupe / 2+2, and the 2000 which drives and feels more like a traditional 'family' sedan. I switched from Toyota after blowing the head gaskets in our 92' 3.0 liter V6 engine twice (@ 85K and 140K miles) due to an engine design defect which necessitated a complete engine rebuild. No more toyota's for this driver.
