Good Car

We have a 5 speed manual Accord that has been fun to drive. It is bit of a dog in first gear when the A/C is engaged, otherwise plenty of power with the 4cylinder - 5speed combo. The AC the second year does not cool as expected. Paint chips easily on the front plastic bumper.

My girlfriend drives a Honda and I loved driving it which resulted in me buying my 2002 Accord EX V6. The low price was an extra bonus. Overall this car runs smoothly and you can really feel the 200hps working. However, I see myself going to the gas station more often then expected. It's a V6 but it's also a Honda! I expected to get at least 25mpg if not more but I'm averaging 21mpg(highway + city). Now I'm kind of afraid to drive the car just becuase I know afterwards, the car will be saying, "Feed me now or be stuck on the road." Thinking back I may just have paid a little more and get the new Camery.

honda quality declining...

not very fun to drive due to slow acceleration and mediocre handling. both front door speakers began buzzing at 10k miles. Lack of power from a 150 hp I4 is glowing brightly! A huge manual shifter gets obnoxious after 60 miles. Brakes were shot around 36k miles. A/C never gets cold even after tune-ups. Styling is very conservative. On the plus side, CD changer is good and its in-dash so no trunk activity is req'd. I've had four straight hondas and quality has declined. Also, wind noise and ride noise are problems. But it runs really well, so its not a junker. I'm now getting a 525i so all you hondas on the road watch out! 525i=accord eater

Tiring to drive

Hard to drive. The slippery steering is designed to create resistance against the driver. The direction is too direct. A slight movement of the hand nearly result in a change of lane. Imposible to drive with one hand making a long trip very tiring. There is no suspension except for something I would call a bump amplifier. There is a lot of road noise. The steering wheel block the speedometer and the highbeam light. The steering wheel is too far from the driver. Not enough clearance for the legs. I seems this car is designed for small people. The seat hurt my back to the point now I am now getting rid of that car. (though the service was good).

Hand-Me-Down Car

My dad bought this car brand new in January 2001, and has had it for a little more than 9 and 1/2 years. Now, it's been handed down to me as my dad has gotten a new 2010 Accord. I've driven the car many times before my dad gave it to me. It's not a bad car. The ride is good and comfortable. The power is sufficient. The exterior style is a little boring, but I can deal. After 9 years in the family, it runs fine and I'll most likely keep it for another year or so before buying a new car for myself. As a hand-me-down car, it's good!
