Best Value Ever
After reading Edmunds reviews I went ahead and bought a 1999 Honda Accord V6. It was the best money ever spent. I have had this vehicle one year now. I have added 4,000 miles to the 117,000 that we’re on it. It is an enjoyable vehicle to drive. The pep is there for on acceleration and the ride is smooth. The car had a newer paint job and looks great for an 18 year old vehicle. Sometimes the transmission is hesitant but that is the only complaint I have about this vehicle. It feels durable and well built. Everything still works on the interior. The reason Honda is always at the top of reviews is quite evident to me.

disappointed
A previous Accord owner, I am highly disappointed by this car. The interior is thoughtfully laid out and very nice. The styling is alright. The performance does not meet my expectations at all. I expected better than 20 mpg (my previous 4-cyl Accord averaged 31). The transmission is terrible! Previous owner had it replaced, but still doesn't shift well at all. This is my first Honda automatic, and my last for sure. I'll either go with a manual 4- cyl or look at a different brand.

Don't Believe the Hype!
I purchased my 2nd accord over 3 years ago with 90k miles on it. My first '92 accord had nearly 200k and the only problem was w/ the cruise control and a rough transmission. My '99 has a faulty transmission that's slipping as well, the lights in my dash dim periodically, cruise control doesn't work AT ALL, the auto locks in my rear doors are now manual, I need new ball joints, i had to purchase an extended warranty for my battery b/c it continuously dies. I must admit that as I am approaching 175k, that car still starts without a glitch, but the "quality" that Honda is expected to have mastered is only hype. This is the 4th Honda my family has had, and the 4th one with transmission issues.
Great Car
I own Honda Accords until I run them up to 150k miles then trade.( 3 ) The EX v-6 is the best...no maintainance problems, great ride, quick, I can fold down the back seat and stick a 10' surfboard inside the car!! I am 6'3" 220# and I have plenty of room with the auto adjust driver's seat
A dream with two flaws
I like my 1999 Honda Accord EXVS better than any other I ever owned or even rented or borrowed. I wish it got better mileage, but 28 isn't bad for a V6 with this performance. The only real flaw is that it is possible for my wide foot to depress the brake pedal so far that it also pushes the gas pedal. This caused a minor accident that might have been serious. The dealer says the pedal are normal, and act like it's my fault, but this should not happen in a properly designed car.
