I had a 2001 Suburban with over 316,000 miles on it and needed a new long-distance driver as the suburban was tired. I was looking at the GMT900 series trucks but was warned away from them. I decided on a GMT K2XX platform truck and a 2019 and up for the 10-speed transmission. I could not be happier with my purchase. Truck eats miles and returns high 20s and even low 30s MPG! The 6.2-liter engine is very torquey and fairly smooth. The Displacement on Demand system works very smoothly and is not noticeable, you can only tell by the V4 display on the cluster that it is in 4-cylinder mode. The exterior is nicely done, the styling is very nice, except for the hood which has too many reverse radius cuts but looks good for a huge truck. I do wish the HID headlights were the LEDs you get with the newer model. The interior is a mixed bag. There are plenty of hard plastics which I would not expect on t truck that cost over $82,000 new, but I realize that GMC is going for durability. The seats are nicely done, comfortable and heated/ventilated. The folding rear seat and captains chairs are very well done as well, but I miss the under seat storage of the middle bench seat in the Suburban. One trick I did, I wanted a truck that would glide down the highway and after putting about 4000 miles on it, I decided that the big 22 inch wheels the Denali comes with had to go. I bought a set of take off 18-inch wheels and tires and did a swap, The ride is much nicer with the larger sidewalls. If you want a truck that rides like a dream go for the 18 inch wheels and the Magnetic Ride.
