Most expensive vehicle I've ever purchased

Bought used for my daughter, she really liked the interior and ride. Two weeks into ownership she remarked to me it seemed to using a lot of oil. I didn't really believe her until a bit later down the road when she started having other problems with her check engine light and it throwing several codes. She couldn't pass inspection so she took it in to get it looked at, put in a new catalytic converter and oxygen sensor, to the tune of about $900 bucks. Two months later she couldn't pass emissions during her vehicle inspection. Catalytic converter out again. By now I had researched online and found out there was a pending lawsuit and this 2.4 liter engine had oil consumption (leading to other issues) problems. There was a GMC recall, but her used Terrain had several thousand miles over the 120,000 mile limit the lawsuit covered, so I got stock having GMC tear out her engine, and rebuild it in order to keep her on the road. Cost me $8500, which I am still paying off the loan on, and she's made every loan payment on the Terrain too, with about $3500 remaining to pay it off. This used GMC Terrain 4 banger ended up costing US around $30,000 when all is said and done. Definitely wrong of the new car dealer we purchased this lemon from to be able sell a used car with known oil consumption problems, but that's another review topic.

I have had 2 of these, both with timing issues, burning through oil like crazy. I had to add 2 quarts of oil every 1500 miles. So cheap oil changes once a month instead. They are not road quiet at all! I wouldn't reccomend this car to anyone ever.

... I wanted but if it is always in the shop. I purchase a 2013 GMC Terrain Denali edition. It is beautiful inside and out but I came to realize quickly the previous owners traded it in for a Mercedes. I have owned the vehicle less than a year (after several trips to the dealership, because they could fix the problem because the computer did not register a issue [although they stated they felt the issue]) . Finally after I drove it for another two months and when back to have it tested again; they rebuilt my transmission. Really? I have 40k miles on it, why would the transmit already be messed up! I got my car back 2 weeks ago and when I pulled into my driveway after work today, I smelled coolant and I have a puddle under my car. If you can afford to purchase the Denali, I would recommend a different brand: Toyota, Honda, anything but a GMC!

Noisy

A 3.6 cylinder engine option was not listed although that is what I have in mine. Road noise is terrible, especially on concrete. Thought it might be the tires but my wife has the exact same tire on a 2008 Ford Escape and it is 50 to 60% quieter than my Terrain. You would think for the price of this car it would have a quiet ride. I have the 6 cyl and only get and average of 20 mpg combined city & highway. Blind spot mirror is poorly designed
