An Almost Perfect Daily Driver

2024 Genesis GV60 Standard 4dr SUV (electric DD)

I chose the RWD Standard because of its extended range, 303 miles in ECO mode, the RWD conventional driving dynamics, and the lower price. The compromise is the lack of a few hi tech driver's assist features, which I seldom use in my case, the fabric trim, etc., non of which would negatively affect how the car drives or its luxurious feel inside and out. The AWD versions, Advanced and Performance, although faster than the RWD counterpart on a straight line, has some not so welcome issues with driving dynamics - the increase 300+ pound weight (mostly in the front motor), the lack of electronic management between the front and rear motors. It's quite apparent at a turn during acceleration. The AWD is sloppy. I find the RWD being much better in control. Crossover EV's are not sports cars despite their quick acceleration and high torque. If you embrace them for what they really are, luxury daily drivers, you'll be much happier. The GV60 RWD is by far the best value luxury BEV under $50K (after Fed EV credit via leasing).

I agree with the previous poster, the only downside is not having the wireless Apple and android carplay. Otherwise I’m really happy with the design, acceleration, charging speed and mileage. I believe the car is supposed have a range between 235-248 but my Advanced 2023 GV60 consistently charges up to 275 mile range. I usually never drive it below 50% charge. I do wish they sold this in more states as I had to ship mine in from California. It’s really quiet but you can also change the drive sounds setting to your preference. Im also glad I’m driving a unique car as it seems everyone and their mom has a Tesla. Overall I’m really happy with the purchase. I also appreciate the service from Genesis so far.

2024 Genesis GV60 Performance 4dr SUV AWD (electric DD)
10 of 10 people found this review helpful

Our GV60 Performance is a real pleasure to drive. It's FAST and comfortable, with competent handling and an eye-catching design both inside and out. We've found the EPA range ratings to be quite accurate when road-tripping, and its DCFC speed is among the fastest in the industry, so road-trip charging stops are extremely short when the charger is working correctly. We've had the car for almost 18 months, and have had more inquiries and complements about the design than just about any other car we've owned, including more than a few high-dollar German cars. If you need lots of space for stuff in your ESUV, there are better choices, but for overall driving pleasure, the GV60 is tough to beat.

Love this car so far

It's pricey and truthfully it's a step down in luxury from the GV70 Sport Prestige I had. But the acceleration and torque are unbelievable. Biggest downside is lack of wireless Android auto and apple play. And range isn't the best, but it charges very quickly. Unfortunately the car isn't eligible for any incentives, and every dealer I'm aware of in CA sells the car above MSRP. If you can stand to wait, they will probably drop in price eventually. And the GV70 electric may end up qualifying for the IRA tax credit as it will be assembled in Alabama. But it's a phenomenal EV and way better than a Tesla in terms of build qualify and comfort, in my opinion.

Fashion plate EV with state of the art tech

After waiting a full year for a Jaguar I-Pace that was never built, I got back my deposit and bought a GV60. This thing is remarkable. Given how so many reviews compared it to its Kia And Hyundai siblings I wasn’t expecting a whole lot more than what they had to offer. Well in performance trim it has the most creatively designed interior of any car on the market. Genesis has such an amazing team at this point, and is seemingly given such freedom, that their designs are unmatchable. Quiet, fast, and smootfh driving, the only missing element is another 50 miles of range. It will be interesting to see if, like MB they will be able to tweak HP and range via OTA.

New car - but beware, no spare tire

We just picked up on new Genesis GV60. Car so far seems great, although there is a lot of technology to learn. However, please be aware that this car does not come with a spare tire. For some strange reason, Genesis does not think this important safety feature is important. Instead, they give you something called a tire mobility kit. But even they recognize that this is not a good solution in many instances. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QA9Zwxay96M. You would think in a car that retails at over $60K, they might care about their customer's safety. It is not like a tire problem is a rare occurrence.

After about three weeks of ownership, I could not be more pleased with the new GV60. I got the advanced trim because for me, it was the best blend of performance, tech, and range. This is my first EV, so I got a home charger as well. It’s so convenient to just keep the battery topped off around 80% and it’s always ready for family adventures or my wife wants to take it into work. In my opinion, it’s equally poised for around the town errands and short family road trips. It’s quiet, comfortable, luxurious, and above all a blast to drive. There’s a lot of great cars in this segment, but I definitely recommend giving the GV60 a look to see if it suits your needs as well as it does mine.

great car - awful dealer network in my area

Craig Epstein, 10/07/2024

I do really like the car - it drives great and is very quick. Range has also been as advertised and charging at home is easy and at a fast charger is very quick if needed. however - it has had at least 4 recalls since March 2023 which the place i leased from handled. However, now the dealer is only Hyundai and the Genesis brand is now at a standalone dealer nearby. That would normally be fine but while that dealership opened in August 2024 (Salerno Duane Genesis in Denville NJ) they cannot service electric vehicles and won’t be able to for a few more months. Genesis sells 3 EV models and their dealer in my area can’t service them? They’ll do a tire rotation but if i get another recall i have to find another place to handle it and Genesis dealers are few and far between. While the Hyundai dealer was a low rent place, they could at least service the car! Until Genesis gets their act together and becomes a proper luxury brand with a solid dealer network, I really wouldn’t get another one.

Loving this car + wireless car play via OTA update

CT Driver, 10/11/2024

2023 Genesis GV60 Performance 4dr SUV AWD (electric DD)
5 of 5 people found this review helpful

I bought this as a 1YO used GV60 Performance. The acceleration is crazy-fast, and the ride is smooth, quiet and well controlled. The latest OTA update brought wireless CarPlay to all owners. I’m getting much better range than the EPA rating would suggest. I haven’t tried to do a scientific range test, but that actual range I’m getting in warm weather ~70F is in the high 200’s. This is the best car I’ve ever owned and I’m not a young guy. My last car was an Audi A4 with sport suspension and the GV60 is a big step up in luxury and fun. I live in CT and have home charging, so that’s not an issue and I’m loving not having to stop at gas stations. I made a few road trips and there are now public fast chargers on highway rest areas, and a few off-highway that are situated near exits. Each brand of charging station is a bit different, hence a learning curve but once you download the right apps and learn to use them it’s not an issue. Update - after going through my first winter the car still drives and performs great. As expected, the range was reduced by 10-30% in colder weather, depending how cold. It handles well in snow with great traction. Tire wear has been good, but I only accelerate hard only occasionally and allow the motors to do most of the braking with regen. Have done all updates and recalls as soon as available and haven't experienced any problems. Genesis service has been top notch.

2024 Advance model: I really really like the car, but don't love it. 2 glaring flaws: The rear vision is terrible. The C pillars are bulkiest I have ever seen. The rear spoiler, spoils your rear vision too. The cameras are really good in partially compensating for the minimal rear vision. I am always nervous when backing out of a crowded parking lot. Next, the mileage on a full charge, could/should be higher. I knew this when I bought it, luckily I have a home car charger. I get a lot of positive comments on the car, with people asking what is it and the color: Hanauma mint. My favorite feature is the exclusiveness...Unlike Teslas, you see don't a lot of GV60s on the road. It is a total blast to drive on the open road, when the rear vision is not a big issue.....the warning systems about cars in blind spots, et al is great. Would I buy it again, maybe, but the 2024 Kona EV is really nice, too. Last car was 2019 Kona EV Loved It!!

SUA Alert: Car Accelerates Unexpectedly on Its Own

MG, 01/15/2025
2024 Genesis GV60 Advanced 4dr SUV AWD (electric DD)
4 of 5 people found this review helpful

Initially, I was excited about my new, technology-loaded Genesis GV60 electric vehicle, hoping it would provide efficient and comfortable driving. However, from day one, the car's software began malfunctioning. I encountered multiple misleading diagnostic messages on the driver's display and the central dashboard almost every day, which were often confusing. For instance, one message would state, "Feature not available," without specifying which feature it referred to. Over the first ten months, I had to take the car to the dealership for maintenance five times, and it also had at least four manufacturer recalls. Needless to say, I was very disappointed. The situation worsened when the car introduced a critical safety issue that led to a serious accident, ultimately totaling the vehicle. While I was parking the car, it nearly came to a stop when it suddenly accelerated on its own. My foot was firmly on the brake—a standard practice at the end of the parking process—so the unexpected acceleration made it impossible to regain control. This acceleration resulted in a collision with a parking lot sign and a small tree. I quickly tried to steer the vehicle away from the glass door of the building in front of me, but it ultimately struck the building wall to my right. Despite being rated a Top Safety Pick and having a Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist feature, the car failed to stop before hitting obstacles—it collided with the parking lot sign, the tree, and the building wall. This incident highlights severe safety issues, particularly concerning Sudden Unintended Acceleration (SUA) and the failure of the Collision-Avoidance Assist technology. I am grateful that I managed to avoid hitting anyone; otherwise, the consequences could have been much worse. I contacted Genesis USA to file a safety complaint and request an investigation into the incident. Unfortunately, they did nothing. It appeared that they defaulted to blaming me, so they didn't feel the need to investigate or follow up. Despite my repeated calls, I have not received a resolution from them. Overall, this car was unreliable and unsafe. It was manufactured with many unresolved issues that the company addressed irresponsibly. I lost a significant amount of money, as I needed to purchase a new vehicle only 11 months after bringing home my Genesis GV60. Avoid the Genesis GV60 at all costs!

Overall I think the car is nice. Fit and finish is nice but, for the price (performance model) 70K+ and only 235 miles of range - that is terrible. There is no tax rebate or point of sale tax credit for the Genesis. Not sure how Edmunds can claim 270+ miles of range on a performance model, which severely contradicts the 235 miles stated on the window sticker. It's nice if you are only using it as an around town car I think. Not sure its worth it for road tripping.

Gorgeous and Comfortable

Purchased my 2024 GV60 Performance in Atacama Copper because the color is not only different but also gorgeous. As someone with a long commute to work - 130 miles round trip 3 times a week, I was searching for a comfortable ride that did not kill my back after an 8-hour workday followed by a 75-minute commute. That is exactly what I got. The GV60 is incredibly comfortable, quiet and smooth and I look forward to my in-office days. Best car I have ever owned.
