Bad Star
We have had to replace the transmission and engine ALREADY! Brakes 4 times!
piece of junk
2 head gaskets, an entire new cooling system, lots of electrical problems and a trans rebuild later, i dont think i would feel comfortable selling this car to osama bin laden. at least ford will fix the head gasket for you till 100k but that fix won't last long. the trans is as big a problem as the head, the aluminum part that they replace with a steel one is as good as an admission of guilt in my book, but ford wont pay for that. never never never buy a windstar. i grew up in a ford family, but my kids will grow up in a honda family, so long henry
Don't even think about it
This van is TERRIBLE. Consumer Reports warns to avoid this van. We've had to replace head gaskets, ac, transmission, computer chip that tells car when to shift (1,200), the hood flew off, etc.
The worst car ever built
My Windstar has ONLY 60,000 miles... The first engine last 37,500 miles... The second engine, is costing me $650.00 to replace the camshaft sensor due to ENGINE CHECK light. FORD should buy back this junk and compensate all owners.
Van is Junk Ford has No Integrity
This vehicle has blown its head gaskets five times! Three times after Ford Dealer installed an engine remanufactured by Ford. The transmission also failed at 40k miles. Ford not only been extremely reluctant to fix this piece of junk they seem to be incapable of doing so. If anyone tries to sell or even give you one of these things RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!!
