Reliable Truck.
I traded my 2001 Ranger in for my 2002 because I was going to be doing alot of driving and wanted an Auto Transmission. There are a few things that bug me about this truck it has the 3.0 V-6 if you step on the gas the engine rattles like crazy it sounds like it is going to throw a piston. The ride is horrible over any roads other than smooth highways. Has anyone else heard the racket from this engine in there truck? I can say however I haven't had any problems with the reliability though.
2002 Ford Ranger Edge- 2 dr
Only had this truck 1 week and so far I love it. It's definitely has some get up and go, handles well on the road and is comfortable. Fun to drive. I especially like the height of the truck, it's almost like being in a full size truck. The truck handles well on the road but a little touchy when switching lanes at fast speed. You have quite a bit a room in the cab and with the extension. Not sure on the mileage yet as its only been 1 week.

My Ranger is no more
This was my second Ranger. My first was a 1992 single cab XLT with a then 100 h.p. weak 2.3 engine with a 5 speed manual. Very good truck for what it was. Bought my 02 at the end of the model year and paid 14,000 before tax for a loaded supercab. Very reliable truck that in it's life only needed front brakes at 73k,two serpentine belts, two batteries, and finally at 92k the power steering pump started leaking and was replaced. Oh yea and at 65k one of the rear turn signal bulbs burned out. Usually would get 18-19 mpg's going to and from work and 21 mpg with the cruise set on 77 mph. The 3.0 liter engine coupled with the 5 speed auto is great. Last week I totaled her. So sad.
The Best!
My Ford ranger is built in Edison NJ. The Truck was put together very well. Have had no problems at all with it. The rear window is solid. The 5sp. manual works very well, if your towing things around, like in upstate NY. This is my first ranger, and I will keep on buying. My Ranger came with Goodyear RT/S tires on. Good tires. Also in the interior, there is almost NO noise. Unlike in the other Manuf, you get alot or road noise.
Still love my Ranger after 2 years
Runs great. even after I hit a deer. man was that painful to see my front end push in. had to get body work done. but looks and runs great now. still love my Ranger.
