2025 Ford Maverick Consumer Reviews

Nice, but a few simple complaints
I have a 2024 hybrid. Did not see one before ordering. 1.5 years waiting for order! Mostly a nice vehicle. I think it rides well; little sense of speed felt at 60 MPH. I find it comfortable. Bed is small, but as expected. COMPLAINTS: No way to set ECO as default mode. Important control buttons are on console between front seats, where it is very easy to accidentally touch them! Bed walls are a higher than I would prefer. The documentation manual that comes with it is really poor (just like those for other car manufacturers!) Brake pedal is quite sensitive -- pressing just a bit too hard provides a sudden stop! Ports (USB, power, etc) might be in better locations. Odd shaped keys, but they work. Some actions (such as moving vehicle in neutral) need various button and pedal actions that must have been designed by a video game player. They are unlikely to be exactly remembered in a stress situation. Too modern!! Alas, no "real" emergency/parking brake that is not battery dependent, etc. ADDED NOTES: Obtaining a extra key (a key fob) is too expensive and involves appointments, etc. Very poor way to handle customers!!! Gas mileage good (42 mpg, with gentle driving). Very low noise motor. Heater, A/C controls are probably good but, again, the specific documentation (and "how to" information) is poor. The "video" panel (part of radio, etc, etc) automatically displays "connect phone" message but the documentation about EXACTLY what is need, used, purpose is nil. A letter to Ford Customer Service produced a "form" reply that essentially said, "See your Dealer" --- assuming the "Dealer" was next-door to me. I have not needed to "jump" another car yet, but the documented method of connecting jumper cables is rather odd and, looking at the recommended method, it lacks some practical aspects. Practical "how to" aspects for using the radio (in conjunction with the multi-purpose video screen) is lacking. OVERALL NOTE: After using it for 6 months, my summary is: (1) the vehicle is quite good, (2) the documentation is terrible and is definitely not written for a typical user. (I write books about using mainframe computers and am VERY aware of the differences needed when writing books for real "users".) LATER UPDATE: After about 18 months, it is good. Sometimes over 50 miles/gal. I still stand by my original minor comments, but I must note that it drives and rides well. I paid for an extra key fob, because I am a little paranoid about back-up devices. It appears to me that most of the car manufacturers have conspired together about very high prices for key fobs. The automatic high beam action for the headlights works very well. Like other "modern" cars, there is no simple display for oil or water temperatures -- but perhaps I am too old fashioned.

Can't believe its a ford!
I've only had my truck a little less than a month, but wow is it a winner. Comfortable quiet 35mph mixed use town and hiway. I can't give you a city only mph because it is getting 500 miles to a tank of gas and i'm always going on the hiway before I need to fill up. I got the loaded Lariat which is expensive and they are not negotiating because they can't keep them on the lot and it is worth it to me because this has become my main car. It has everything you could want and then some in terms of extras and seems quiter and nicer than the xl. Depending on. what you want to use the vehicle for you may not need the extras that come with the extra cost. At this point I can't think of a single reason i couldn't recommend the truck to you. The last american car I bought wqas a ford in 1974! This is a hybrid and there is not a selection for hybrid under "model"

Functional Fun Fiesty
2024 Lariat. Purchased 12/29/23 in Denver, Drove 780 miles on New Years eve. Comfortable Driver seat. Front passenger seat not so much very few adjustments. B&O Sound is 4.5 stars with sub woofer behind back seat. Getting Amazon Music linked was a chore. After 31 days I am very happy ! Mileage is at 34.5 overall. I have not reset this yet. No regrets other than having to drive to Denver because Dealers in Southern California wanted a $7500 " Market Adjustment" I am not buying a freaking Lobster !
Ford. Ugh!
Quality issues. Five recalls so far as of June, 2024, engine & electronics are continuing problems. Quality issues are ongoing at F.
GREAT TRUCK
Started wanting the XLT but ended up going with Lariat. Very satisfied with my decision. Great gas mileage and comfort for a smaller vehicle.
