Unreliable - I need a vehicle I can count on
I was so excited when my Maverick arrived. I placed the order in August 2022 and finally received it in June 2023. Not a huge problem for me because I have a Lincoln that I love. I find the Maverick very comfortable in every way, I like the acceleration when passing, it is quieter than my Lincoln. My son who is a big man of 6'5", not fat but broad shoulders, I was afraid he wouldn't fit, he's used to large pickups. He drove it on a 3000 mile trip and afterward he said he could drive it all day every day it was so comfortable. My granddaughter was his passenger and she agreed her ride was comfortable. BUT BUT BUT!!! Lucky for us, on that trip no problems. About a month later I planned to drive it - it was DEAD. I didn't leave the lights on, or have anything that could drain the battery overnight. Tried to jump it - NOTHING! Dealership towed it to their place and determined it was the battery. Battery? in a 3 month old vehicle is dead? I did not leave the lights on or have anything that would drain the battery. Maybe it was a defective battery? Brought the Maverick home, drove it for 2 weeks - fine one day, next day DEAD again and towed again. This time the dealership double checked technical bulletins for 2022 and 2023 Mavericks and tried many different things, none of which seemed to be the cause. They determined that probably when they returned the vehicle to me the new battery hadn't been fully charged. So doesn't a battery recharge itself when driving the car? I had driven the car for at least a 30 mile roundtrip at least twice during the 2 weeks, wouldn't that recharge the battery? I was told this is a different kind of battery, so how does it recharge? I'm told they have checked and the battery is fully charged now and the problem shouldn't recur. Does this sound right to you? We'll see. Fortunately, each time it was DEAD it was on my driveway, I hate to think if this had happened on the trip, but it could have. So, do I use it for anything but local driving? Get stranded on my next trip? The warranty doesn't cover the cost of rental car if the Maverick fails! I was asked if it sits for several days unused - yes, because I have a second car. But each time it was DEAD it had been driven the day before and seemed fine. I see on the internet that I am not alone with the DEAD Mavericks. Many others are reporting the same issue. Buyer beware - do you want to drive a car that might work? Might get you home? Shouldn't a 3 month old vehicle be reliable? All my cars in the past I could count on to run as long as I had not been stupid and left the lights on - even the cars that were 15 and 18 years old were never DEAD when I attempted to use them. Not true for the Maverick!
First Ford hit since Mustang
It is the smoothest-running vehicle I ever owned. I just got it so I am not sure about the mileage I will get but the ride is smooth, and it has good power to climb the hills.

The Little Truck That Could!
Although it took a year and a half to get it, White truck has been well worth the wait. This little truck is more comfortable than expected and so incredibly versatile! For a hybrid, it's quick, and the mileage is excellent! Is it perfect? Well, no...but it is quite the little weekend warrior. Plenty of room in the bed to carry bags of mulch, flats of flowers, or my bicycle to ride trails. Heated seats and steering wheel, a decent back seat, and easy egress. What an awesome infotainment system! Well done, Ford...well done!

A hybrid TRUCK with 4 seats. This truck is awesome, fit all of my city dweller needs. Averaging over 37 mpg. Lots of cool inexpensive mods too. Only compliant is that base model doesn't have HD radio.

2.0 Ecoboost AWD FX4
This 2.0 eco boost awd fx4 in very fun to drive! Comfortable , great B&O stereo, apple car play. Only have had it for a week but so far it greatly exceeds expectations. Wasn’t quite sure about the cactus gray paint but note that I see it in person I love it. Currently also have a older f150 and even with the Maverick being a smaller vehicle, bed and tow rating (4k) I don’t see it not be able to do almost everything I asked of my f150.

Solid little truck
There is great MPG on hybrid models, but there are some concerns with the battery going into deep sleep mode often.

R.T. in Kentucky
I've gone 10 thousand miles without any problems. 44-51 mpg's. Loving it! Great truck. Fit and finish is very good. Everything seems put together well. Thank you Ford for this modern day Model T! Update ...... Have had several recalls which are a pain in the a**, but all in all still a very reliable truck. Now have 18 thousand miles! UPDATE: I'm 64 years old and have owned many vehicles. This one checks all the boxes! Very easy to drive, functional interior, good pick up with the hybrid engine. Rides good, pretty quiet, easy enough tech without going overboard. Good exterior fit and finish. AND THE GAS MILEAGE! WOW!

Great Economical Small Pickup
Love the looks and vehicle height. Nice smooth quiet ride with large media display. Safety features include side view mirror alerts when other vehicles get too close, large rear-view camera backup camera, lane assist with co-pilot 360 features (not included, extra $$$) but worth it. Only dislike so far is to use ECO driving, it needs to be reset each time you start the engine; it should be the default on the Hybrid. We have only driven about 140 miles so far in the 2023 Hybrid Maverick and love it. We recommend not letting sales convince you to pay for add-on's that dealer added on to your vehicle when you Ordered what you wanted. The purpose of ordering any vehicle is to get EXACTLY what you want.

Rattle Package, 2.0 Ecoboost Lariat Tremor
In 2021 the Ford brass made a promise to make "product quality" a reason to buy a Ford, well on the Maverick they have failed. The best thing on this little truck has been the paint and the overall size. Things fall apart in the interior, ride quality, media, road noise, fit/finish and the transmission. Interior: big miss on material, the plastic Ford uses scratches easily and various bits are misaligned. The windshield was not installed correctly, alignment pin keeps rattling. Ford is aware of the installation issues and has corrected this. The amount of dash rattles is truly impressive for a company making cars for 115 years. Ride quality: The suspension transmits a lot of noise into the cabin and is very harsh on gravel/rougher roads. This adds to the number of rattles in the interior. Media: System consistently drops communication when using the wireless. Hands free talk sounds like an AM radio at best and the folks on the other end can barely hear the talker. Road noise: I have added a lot of sound deadening material to help lower the amount of noise that creeps into the interior. Wind noise is a big issue in cross winds, it come through the door seals and door handles. Also, in cross winds the poorly attached felt lined panel will vibrate causing more road noise. Fit and finish: aside from issue in the interior the exterior is not much better. Both rear door seal covers are not properly attached, the fuel door is a push to open and will pop open when meeting larger trucks on two lane highways. You have to pull over fairly quickly and shut the door otherwise it can cause a CEL. The biggest issues is the hood, I have never seen a hood so poorly made. I have had several passengers flinch when meeting larger trucks because the hood looks like it's going to fly off the truck. The metal is so thin you can actually dent it with your finger, and this is on the mounting point for the hood latch. Transmission: On the highway it's not too bad with the 2.0l turbo, but city/rural driving it constantly hunts for gears and starts to heat up. As the transmission gets hotter the shifts get harsher. Ford does not offer manual control of the automatic like on the Bronco Sport, trying different modes can help a little but eventually it has a slipping feel during shifts. A few other things: The fresh air intake for the HVAC system is below and under the back edge of the hood, this keeps a clean look but a lot of heat transfer from the engine bay gets into the intake. This causes a couple problems, increased use of the A/C since the system cant grab cool air and it causes more condensation on the windshield on moderately cool days because some engine bay air makes its way into the intake. Mentioned in another review is the battery issue, i get a warning after just 5 days of sitting that remote features are disabled. Summary: Spend a bit more and get a Honda Ridgeline, they are built so much better!
