Costly to drive into high mileage 250K

Here is what you need to know - this is a costly car to drive into high mileage. Comfortable seats, slow acceleration, 28MPG. The body helped up well for 10 years, zero rust. The throttle body will fail, Ford finally recalled them after mine failed at 60K, cheap repair around $120 for DYI. The trans are weak mine failed at 197K but started to "surge and slip" around 70K, costly repair $2400. The fluid needs to be changed like clockwork, every 30 miles, I did not do this and never have for any of my high mileage vehicles - I've just added fluid - this car needs it changed. The electric power steering failed at 201K miles $700 repair.

Would make a great car if Ford would fix its issues.

Test drove a SE fully loaded with the 4cyl. First thing I noticed was how horribly slugish it was, as well as its irratic shifting. Loved the car and sales guy said only the 4cyl had this issue. Test drove the 6cyl and loved it. Only to purchase the car new and have issues with it from the first week. Transmission suffers from very hard and irratic shifts. After 3 reflashes, if I haven't ran the car in several days the tires with chirp it shifts so hard. With only 15k miles I now have crystalized brakes. Which I now find out through other owners both of these issues are known problems. The rotors I have to pay for out of pocket while the transmission issue remains to which im told unfixable.

Purchased my used 2010 ford fusion four years ago and have had nothing but problems. The transmission started throwing codes and flaring first month I had it. Still under warranty but upon taking it to the dealer they claimed everything was fine. Third time taking it the replaced the throttle body becuase theres "extended part warranty" on it. Confused, but seemed to help. Following that repair power steering would intermittently cut out while driving. Disconnecting battery and resetting ECU helped but only temporarily. Ford wants 1800 for the power steering saying that replacing the whole component would be the only thing that helps. DOESNT SEEM SAFE!!!! Now transmission is pretty much destroyed its self and Kelly Blue Book says it's worth 250 bucks!!!! Waste of money, you see these cars, move out of the way they're a danger to everyone on the rode. Did I mention it stalls when ever it wants. Have nearly caused a few accidents.

I bought our 2010 fusion late 2010 and have had no major issues with it and then wham! The transmission began giving major problems. We took it to the dealer first with no real help. We then took it to Mr. Transmission and they found a catastrophic failure inside the transmission. $4000 repair later and out of warranty we contacted Ford to look for help and at least for them to help rectify the issue with us and all we got was a "Sorry its your problem". Granted the milage was at 150,000km but a modern transmission should not fail this badly this soon. I am sorry I bought this car, for anyone else out there with this problem, report it to Transport Canada. Perhaps they can do something.

Mileage unreal-34 miles to gallon highway at 70mph, 23mpg around town. Acceleration excellent. 6 speed automatic works well. Handles very well. Large trunck with fold down seats. Nice job Ford.
