Bargain Audi A4
I recently decided to trade in my Mustang GT for something more practical and better able to handle Midwestern winters. I looked at the Subarus but they seemed chintzy and kinda ugly (have you seen the new Legacy?), and Hondas (no AWD except for their SUVs). The Fusion's AWD is a rarity in this class and along with the big V-6 and iPod integration I couldn't find anything better out there. I have been extremely pleased with the Fusion so far and it has handled Chicago snow without any problem. I hope it continues to impress!
Best car I've ever owned
For years I leased Honda Accords. I loved the cars but outside noise was a problem. After suffering through buying several used cars I landed with my Red 2010 Fusion Sport. This by far is the best car I have ever owned. And I've had 15 cars and trucks since my first one and I'm 42 now. The comfort and sportability of this car is awesome. I nick named my car the "Red Rocket". It has bells and whistles that you wouldn't expect on a Ford or for a mid-sized car. It is extremely comfortable on long drives and gets halfway decent gas mileage on the highway. I would recommend this car to anyone, but get the Sport, you won't regret it.

What's not to love?
What a well built vehicle. The handling is superb and it is about time a car manufacturer designed a sporty looking sedan. I love the color (sport blue) and the interior is modern and roomy. The Sun and Tunes package is awesome. The Sync feature works flawlessly. I was looking at an Audi A4 (great car too but a very expesive Jetta) and I am glad I went in this direction. Go BLUE OVAL!!!!
Switched from Toyota to Ford Fusion!
I have owned Camrys since 1990. I had to unexpectedly replace my 2003 Camry. My son convinced me to test drive a Fusion. I was apprehensive about leaving Toyota especially for a Ford! I have bought nothing but Toyota's since 1978 and I was concerned about the reliability and quality of an American car. What a pleasant surprise!!! I love my Fusion and I get lots of compliments on it. It's sporty, attractive, and practical. Ford did an excellent job with the 2010 Fusion!
Love It
The 2010 Ford Fusion is an exceptional American made car. The styling is outstanding, and the mileage is impressive for a non-hybrid car. I have had the car for three weeks now, and I have yet to find any defects. The power is sufficient (it's a somewhat small I-4 for gas mileage), and the six speed transmission is great. The interior has been improved significantly from the 2009, and nothing in it seems cheap or out of place. The guages and switches are all in reasonably located positions. I particularly love the main guages, their colors and lighting, and the way they reset themselves each time you start the car. I love it.
Glad I chose the Fusion
Decided on the Fusion over Sonata, Jetta TDI, and Mazda 6, and am I glad I did. I'm impressed with the quality of the fit and finish and the looks --- this is not like the Fords of years past. 6-speed manual is fun to drive w/ a crisp shift. Ford really built a winner with this vehicle. As the owner of several foreign-made vehicles in the past, I am glad to see an American manufacturer build something to compete with (and even beat out) Japan and Germany.
Great Surprise!
To be honest, this car wasn't my first choice. I was set to buy an Altima until the Nissan dealer pulled a bait and switch on me. I found this car by mistake...Thank you Nissan! I've had my Fusion for a couple of weeks now, and can't believe I didn't find it sooner. The exterior is hip, yet not too hip for my age. Interior is comfortable for my 6' 200lb frame, and can comfortably seat 4 adults or an adult and 4 teens! Sound system is above average, and the dash gets lots of notice. The sync system is outstanding and easy to use. Mileage so far is roughly 30mpg in mixed conditions. Car handled very well in recent snow storm. V6 engine is very spunky. Quiet ride.
Very good car, horrible seats
Ford did a great job. Love the ride an handling. With 18" wheels, it holds curves like a sport sedan. Put about 2500 miles in the first month, w/ 27 mpg for my commute. Sony stereo is fantastic. Lots of space. Like the Synch system for hands free phone. The front seats are horrible. Can't find a comfortable position, even with 8-way power adjustment. I like the headrest, which most people don't. But my lower back hurts all the time. The cushions are hard and the back is too narrow. I'm 6'3", 190. Tall but not large. The seats are bad enough that I am considering replacing the car after just one month. Too bad, otherwise it's an excellent car.
Fusion Sport AWD
Picked a Fusion Sport AWD after looking at Mazda 6sGT and Accord Coupe EX-L V-6/stick, both great cars. The Accord coupe was really fun with great drive train & excellent response. The Mazda was comfortable & quick, but bland. The Fusion had very quiet, roomy interior & trunk, sure-footed handling, smooth power & AWD. Sync is way better than the simple aux input that the Honda offers for phone & media integration. More integrated front styling is distinctive. The wheel/tire & aero bits add to the image without looking tacky. Great Euro/American blend hints of Mercedes and BMW styling but is distinctly American. Interior is first rate and rivals the Accord coupe for quality and comfort.
grestest car i bought so far
I had a 2008 Ford fusion and love it but decided to upgrade and have not regretted yet dealer gave me a great deal and I have been loving my new car ever since and the SYNC system is one of the sickest system I seen so far.
I get too many compliments!
The only real complaint I have is that I'm tired of giving that awkward "thank you" when people compliment my car. I got the Sterling Gray SEL with spoiler and 18" Al rims. I absolutely love driving this car. Sync and other features are awesome. Ride is amazingly smooth and quiet that it rivals most luxury sedans. Has a surprisingly powerful I4 engine as well.
Best American car i ever owned
Purchased car April 2 2010 and right out of the box until now October 25 2011 the car is perfect. Not one thing has gone wrong "Yet".With time i may experience something but until then i have no complaints about the Fusion SE with Stick Shift. Some cars purchased during the economic downturn (2008 thru 2009) seem to be the cars people are complaining about. These cars were mostly sold during the "cash for clunkers" government program and i know of others on the Ford Fusion forum who have had some silly to some serious setbacks in their cars.
Amazing car
I usually only buy coupes as I find them to be the sportier choice, but my Fusion sport is way better than anything I had before. The quality is excellent and the ride is quite and smooth. This car turns heads!
2010 Car of the year for a reason
I had been researching family sedans with manual transmissions and this one is it. The gear ratios are perfectly spaced. It's a blast to drive and is beating the EPA estimates by 3-4 MPG. My wife drives it 90% of the time and loves it. It's only getting 1-2 MPG less than a 2004 Corolla we had before. It's amazingly quiet. If you can't find a comfortable position with the 8 way driver's seat, then you'll not be comfortable in any car. The criteria that led us to this car is the Consumer Reports review of the Fusion. It has been on par with all the benchmark cars...Camry, Accord, etc. Plus with the "Sun and Sync" package, it was $4000 less than Accord and $1400 less than Camry.
Holds up well in an accident
The vehicle was rear-ended by a Mazda CX-7 traveling in excess of 40 mph while stationary, waiting to turn left at a red light (traffic had backed up into a lane of travel). The trunk was destroyed and the front clip was beat up front impacting the car in front of me, but other than that car held up surprisingly well (the seat gave a lot, and the large head restraints prevented what should have otherwise been a serious case of whiplash).
Transmission and starter problems
At about 1000 miles the automatic transmission started slipping. Ford does not know how to fix the problem. At about 2000 miles the starter motor at times does not engage the engine and at times it will not disengage after the engine starts. A Ford representative suggested trading the car in. The car now has 2600 miles and my wife is scared to drive her new car.
American Convert
I never thought Ford or any American Auto Maker would be on par with a European or Japanese Maker. I got the spirited 3.5L sport engine to the detriment of fuel efficiency. I do not regret it, the car is fun to drive and rock solid. The fit and finish inside and out is very good. The center console is button happy, plastic surfaces look good except for the glove box. Do not care much for the tiptronic transmission. Sync system geared towards native English speakers. I have to anglicize too many Spanish names when searching. The outside is muscular, at times the cars seems to begs for speed. A bit much chrome on the front grill. Good suspension. It takes road abrasions with aplomb.
Ford Fusion Tremendous. They're BACK!
My goodness this car is super. We are also leaving Honda, and extremely happy with the Quality of this Fusion. The ride has to rival Germans selling at $40,000 more. Can't freaking believe FORD developed this machine for $21,000!!!!
Border line luxury car that gets MPGS
I can whole heartedly say that Im proud to own this Ford. It blows the competition away in its driving dynamics, mpg, value and luxury. I tend to pick everything apart and I can say after driving this car for over a month its practically flawless. Im amazed at how well this vehicle is put together. Its solid no chatters creaks or rattles anywhere. Its road manners are unbelievable. Its incredibly smooth, quiet and remains settled over the north east roads I drive. Around town its nimble with precise and tight steering. On the back roads it handles the curves extremely well. On the highway its planted smooth and super quiet. The 4cyl lacks nothing mated to the 6spd auto. A+++ Ford!
european rival
Was very skeptical about getting an american car after owning nothing but Audi's and BMW's,But after many endless nights researching (driving my wife crazy) and many test drives I went with the fusion and boy am I happy. The car drives great, handles superb, and looks real sharp, all for much less!!
The New Fusion is Awesome
This car is amazing. Ford has done nearly everything right on this car and it is much improved over the 2006-2009 model. I looked into it because of the 2006 Fusion we own, and was blown away at the improvement. Worth every dollar you pay for it. Better than Camry and Accord, and the sticker is lower for the same features.
Awesome
My second Ford car ever. Went to look at a an Edge for the wife and ended up buying a Fusion for me. Love the styling of this car, both inside and out. Stereo is nice and tight and this is a very quiet ride so you can really enjoy the tunes without having to blast them. Would definitely recommend this ride to anyone. Really nice job all around Ford .
Love this car!
I love this car. I wanted an Escape, but test drove this because it was the color I wanted and immediately fell in love with it. It handles well in the curves, is a smooth, quiet ride, has a great sound system, and a very roomy interior without being a huge car. The Sync technology is great too. Gas mileage on the highway is awesome as well and for a 4-cylinder, I was impressed by its power. The only thing I don't like is that it has hubcaps instead of rims, but even the hubcaps are stylish.
Great midsized car
I recently looked and bought a Ford Fusion. I have been driving this car for about 2 months and the car has performed perfectly. The handling is firm and solid. I especially like the SYNC system. This car is one I will keep for a long time
Fun to Drive!
This is a great car. I traded in a VW Beetle for an "adult" car and was very surprised. It is really roomy and can comfortably seat adults in the backseat with ample leg room. The value with this car is amazing. It feels like you're driving a much more expensive car.
Way to go!
Gm retiree here who traded 2003 de ville. This fusion is a one hell of a car. Fit and finish is excellent, paint is excellent, features and engine excellent. I immediately took this car on a one thousand mile run after purchasing it. Gotta say I had a ball in it. Plenty of power. Transmission shifts with ease. Low road noise and handling like a pro. Straight and tight all the way. Thumbs up Ford.
Camry killer
Just bought the 2010 Ford Fusion to replace a 2004 Toyota Camry. Test drove new Camry, Prius, Sonata, and Accord. Fusion beat them all hands down!! Car is very solidly built fit and finish is excellent! Ride quality is very smooth and cabin is quiet. Steering feel is much better than vague Toyota steering. Averaging 32 mpg in mostly highway driving Engine is perfect mix of efficiency and power. Very glad we bought this over another Camry! It's very nice to have a car with some character to it again!
love this car
I drive this car from easton wa. to western wa. Over two passes one way. Once a week ( on average ) I love the comfort & handling, it has all the bells & whistle ( almost ). I hope to own it for a long time. Best Ford I ever had.
Love my 2010 Fusion
I recently traded in my 09 V-6 SE sport for a 2010 4 cylinder SEL. It is awesome. I am very very happy with the gas mileage. getting about 25 to 27 mpg in town, and the car isn't fully broken in. The car is not that much slower than the V-6, and the gas mileage is amazing. Plenty of power and better gas mileage, what more could you want? It is also a very comfortable car. I am very pleased with my buying decision.
2010 SE 6M
I have been overly pleased and surprised by the 2010 Fusion. My mom has a 2006 S 5M and I was looking at a Fusion because of how much I like that car and was blown away by the improvement of the 2010 model. Everything about the car screams quality build, and all the things in the old fusion were addressed (loud, underpowered engine, needed exterior update, needed interior update, even better fuel economy) Ford has really hit the mark with this and definitely has a car that Americans can be proud of, in addition, to besting their Japanese competition.
First Domestic Car, EVER
Always Japanese or European.Beats Camry and Accord. Tried 2011 Sonata, still went back to Fusion. 500 miles on car so have a lot to learn but so far was a great choice. Hope this continues.
Best Car Yet
I have been driving different cars for a few years now such as a Scion tC, Ford Escape, Toyota Corolla, and Mitsubishi Eclipse, but none compare to the Fusion except for the Corolla. I bought this as my first car and I absolutely love it! I feel protected and safe in this car, it gets excellent gas mileage, and the comfort as well as performance are outstanding. I'm very satisfied with this car and I almost wish to be in traffic just so I have a reason to be in my car. It feels and looks more like a luxury sedan rather than a Ford, but that's all the more reason why I love it.
Drive!
Solid vehicle. An improvement over its debut 06. The new 2.5 is wonderful!! Interior dash is much better too! Car handles like its on rails. Quite, solid road feel. Ford is listening to consumers and it shows.
HOME RUN
Ford has finally listened to the people and built a very competitive car.The car is beutiful and drives great. I bought the I4 with the 2.5 engine and I believe it has plenty of pep with good gas mileage.
Best Value in Class
Purchased a Sport AWD fully loaded. Great looking car and with the latest technology. Certainly fun to drive with excellent handling and power. Mileage great too, nearly 27 mpg on a 700+ mile trip at speeds averaging 75-80 mph. Looked at 3-series BMW, Audi A4, Acura and Infiniti G37-- all at least $10-15K more with the G37 only one having more power. Best buy in this class especially after rebates. Ford got this one right!! Final thought: Many buyers would not think of looking at a Ford, so they pay dearly for the import name and eventually the high maintenance.
Much nicer than I expected
I was totally surprised at how well the car handles and how quiet and comfortable it is during normal hi speed . The six speaker sound system with Sirius and Sync sounds great. The controls are perfectly placed (to me).The Michelin 50 series tires are great and the fuel lie-ometer is reasonably accurate. My first tank of fuel hand calculated at 27mpg. I was a little suspicious of the most important performance function (brakes) until the first time I did a hard stop. When you press on the brakes HARD it stops hard and fast. If you buy one, test it out with no one in back of you. An unexpected goodie with the Sync was the ability to use a 16gb thumb drive on the USB port.
I would definetly buy again
We had 2009 Fusion that was a good start, very comfortable and never had an issue. Very good gas mileage, 24 mpg most of the time city driving and almost always 34-35 mpg free way. My wife decided got upgrade though. The Sync system was the main reason, which she loves and I like the usb port to play my music. They also upgraded the suspension so handles even better. Again great gas mileage. Went Oregon last fall and averaged 36 mpg on I5. Filled up in Santa Rosa, CA before we left and made it to Klamath Falls, OR and still had quarter tank left. As for comfort, I am 6'3'' and is one the most comfortable rides I had. Many positions for seat, lumbar support and steering wheel is adjustable.
Best Car EVER! I am on my second one!
I bought a 2007 Fusion and LOVED it! I traded for the "new and improve" 2010 and I have had the BEST experience with it! The new features like SYNC, new 6 spd trans, versus the 4 spd, is a GREAT improvement! I love the aggressive design of the front end, and EVERY thing about this car! GO BUY ONE ~ you WONT be disappointed!
It's A classic American Sedan
It has a great engine and nice transmission. The stereo and moon roof are nice. it goes 0-60 in 6.6 and 0-112 (limited) in 20.3 Seconds :)
Pretty Car, unreliable & poorly built
Purchased new 2010 Fusion SEL in May 2009. Four cylinder provided adequate acceleration & excellent MPG. I was impressed by the quiet interior & smooth shifts. What a diff a year makes - now the engine sounds like a dying sewing machine and the tranny either revs to the red-line before a rubbery downshift OR it bangs out harsh clunky shifts). This is after the "transmission recall repair" The dealer claims this is normal for the car; however it certainly wasn't the norm at time of purchase. Additional problems have included faulty airbag sensors, faulty seat belt sensors, faulty starter, the list goes on. 6th new Ford in 13 yrs; sadly it's prob my last. Avoid this model.
Love my Fusion
I've had my fusion for a little over a month now and I love it. I was deciding between it and the Accord. In the end the Fusion won hands down because of all the cool features the car has. It is a nice smooth ride and I love the SYNC system and bluetooth. It is the prefect size sedan where it is not too big. It looks great on the outside and inside. So glad I bought a Ford!
Overall evaluation
Could use a taller 6th gear and slots for maps on the sides of the doors, also a power source outlet in the trunk for accessories. Ride is harsh on rough roads but most unibody cars are. A full frame would improve the ride greatly. We don't have pool table smooth roads around here. The dash could use some color otherwise the car is nice and tight and handles beautifully.
Great job Ford!!
Ford got it right with this car! Test drove a Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima and a Jetta TDI....no comparison. After my Fusion test ride I was hooked. Solid car, handles well, smooth engine acceleration and very comfortable. If you had told me that after test driving all of these vehicles I would have picked the Ford I would've said you were crazy!! My first American car (in my 40's).....traded in an Accord.
Impressive power
Not only does this car look hot, it handles great and is very fun to drive. The 2.5 4 cylinder is very capable on the highway and not at all depressing around town. In fact I keep finding myself having to back off the gas a little after looking down at the speedo or getting a tap from the wife. It's that kind of a smooth sailing machine, if you know what I mean. Ford hit the mark with this one!
The FUN Mid-Size Sedan!
I test drove a dozen different cars before settling on the Fusion Sport. I never dreamed I'd buy a Ford when I started my search. I chose the Fusion Sport over a used Acura TL, used BMW 3 series, and new Mazda6. Why? Here's a car that'll do 0 - 60 in under 6.5 secs, handles turns like a BMW, has a very good Sony audio system, truly quiet interior, Microsoft Sync, and you can get it absolutely loaded with hi tech gear. If you're in the market for a sports sedan and think you need to buy a Audi, BMW, Acura, Infiniti, or Lexus to get one, just try the Fusion Sport. Don't let the Acura dealers sell you on that superior reliability bull. The Fusion is more car for the money.
Ford has lead again!
We have the 2010 SEL 4cyl. Mileage has averaged 30.9 after 1000mi. Love the room and seats! Sync is awesome!!! The front seats are very comfortable. The "no gas cap" is a wonderful inovation...everyone should own a Fusion!!
Wow! I Love this Car!
Have had my new Fusion for about a week and I'm thoroughly in LOVE. Never thought I'd love a car at this point in my life (female age 45). Great value for the money. I bought the Sport in Blue with the "funky" interior (blue perforated leather inserts). Even my staunch union, GM neighbor said "sharp car." I am a little sad when I pull in the parking lot at work after a 13 mile commute...I would like to keep driving it!! I hope this love affair continues...if Ford's quality carries on as this car ages, I'll be a loyal Ford customer. (Just came out of a 2006 Saturn Vue that felt like it was falling apart!).
Absolutely BLOWN AWAY!
Honestly this Fusion may drive as good as out $53,000 BWW 5 Series nightmare (disastrous out of warranty service headaches). The seats and highway steer track are unbeatable!
WOW
Owner of just one day Fusion sport black/ black w/ red leather insert bucket seats.. roars like a lion and drives like a Lexus. Fighting with wife.. now she wants one .. Oh well, can't find another one just like this one. Solution??- Order another one. But she wanted extra, with a remote auto start so her car would be different than mine. She wins.. what else can I say about this car!!
Throttle Control-2010 Ford Fusion
I Purchase my Ford Fusion the last week of August. The 2nd week of Sept, 800 miles later. The wrench sign lights up and the vehicle will not drive over 20mph. I stop the vehicle for 5 mintues. Everything starts up fine, and a few minutes later the wrench lights up again and the car will go only 10 mph. I take it to Ford with the check engine light on and the wrench light on. The Dealer replaces the Throttle Body Assembly. I pick up the vehicle and the next day the same thing happens again. I take it back and they can not find anything wrong with the vehicle, they even drove it for 30 miles. So I go pick up the vehicle today and before I get home(4 miles away), the wrench light comes on.
