2014 Focus ST
Great handling, plenty of power, too much torque steer upon hard acceleration. Wonderful value for the price. Disappointing gas mileage.

2013 Focus ST-3 ownership review after 2.5 years
This is really an amazing car, a bit over priced if you buy all the options. You don't need Ford My Touch. It is just flashy and unnecessary. Anyone with a cell phone does not need navigation in their Focus ST. The Nav is difficult to use, and you have to be stopped if you are going to input info into it. Its not accurate either, I never use it. The Recaro buckets are beautiful to look at and make the car appear to be an awesome race machine, however if you are a male and you are over 150 lbs and taller than 5'7" you will be uncomfortable. very narrow seat backs..digs into shoulders. I had some issues with the car stalling at red lights and stop signs and it took Ford a year to fix it. My right side head light bobbles over bumps, Ford can't fix it. Vibrates a lot with the AC on at a stop. OK, now for the good stuff...quick, nimble, exciting, handles like its on rails, stops on a dime in emergencies, and can switch lanes before you can blink your eyes. Gets reasonable mileage as I avg 31mpg city and hwy combined. The turbo spools up nicely for me and I enjoy the passing power it has on the street.

Freeway Steering Difficult
First of all, I love my new ST2. My only complaint, and I'm not sure if this is the car or the Goodyear Asymmetrical 2 tires, is that while driving on the highway at normal cruising speeds the car seems to pull and drift in both directions. Not the yaw or the alignment but I can't keep it pointed straight. When I ever so slightly move the steering wheel to compensate the car over compensates and I find it drifting in the other direction. Is this a calibration problem? Tire problem? It makes for some really uncomfortable highway driving..like I'm fighting the steering wheel.
DON'T GET THE EXTENDED WARRANTY!!!!
Worse service possible. Paid 3000$ for extended warranty. It started w the local dealer losing paperwork, and never was found, hope they did the work they said. Next the dealership i bought the car at put stripped lug-nuts on the car. Was a a treat watching the tire shop guys getting them off. And most recently Autonation Ford in Valencia,CA lost my key and it was somehow my fault. Was able to drive car off lot but once turned off would not start due to lack of key in vehicle. They blamed me for losing my key and that's where they left it. So 400$ wasted on top of $3000. My drivers seat is broken and don't trust any dealership to fix. When i contacted Ford customer service i was told each dealership is independent so there is nothing they can do. Feel like i was taken pretty good by Ford. Love the car JUST DON'T GET THE EXTENDED WARRANTY UNLESS YOU LIKE GETTING RIPPED OFF AND SUB PAR WORK. DON'T FEEL SAFE GETTING WORK DONE AT ANY FORD DEALERSHIP.

Consider what you want out of the car!
I like driving my Ford Focus ST, but I am very disappointed at the inside of the car. At first glance, the interior looks well made and noise free, but with less than 3 months I started to hear noises from the rattling of the back seat and after two dealership inspections, the only fix I was offered was to wrap the metal hook that latches the back seat with electrical tape to silence the rattling. withing 6 months, noises started to come from middle dashboard, the snap on style panels are poorly made and rub against each other. Other things also came to my attention, such as the upgraded Recaro bucket seat does not fit in the seat area, so when the seat is moved around the sides get smashed on the doors and armrest. Also, the moonroof sliding door rattles and makes noises. Mechanically speaking, the car is very fun to drive, but this car makes way too much rattling noise for age and condition of the car, and I drive mostly on reasonable roads. Additional Review later - Over the years, the roof panel is coming unglued and rattling more and more as the days goes by, so this car has proven to be very poorly finished with material and quality only good enough to last until you leave the dealership parking lot. Included with the poor quality/reliability of the cars interior is the fact that within less than 1 year of owning the car, it has been under 3 recalls, ranging from simple things as Nav Controler board to very serious issues such as cracks on doors locks that if broken, it would allow the door the open with the vehicle in motion, which Ford considered a non-serious issue and took about ~3 years to fix the known issue. And by the way, Ford does not give you a replacement car when the car needs to be fixed while under warranty or recalls, no matter how long it takes for the to fix it. (This was also experienced with my other car, a Ford Edge which I purchase this year brand new and the bumper is peeling. They want to keep the car for at least 3 days and refused to give me a replacement car so that I can go to work.) I love the mechanics and how the car drives, but I am so annoyed by the new noises that the lose interiors makes and the complete lack off Customer Service from Ford Motor Company and dealers (some of the personnel in the dealers try to help, but they hit walls within the company structure or bureaucracy), that my next car will NOT be a Ford. In short, I DO NOT RECOMMEND a ford unless you are going to strip the interior and never deal with them. Cheers and Good Luck.
