Third time towed to shop

I’ve had the car for 16 months and it’s already been towed to the shop three times. Once it just died on my road, the other two times it wouldn’t start despite the battery being fully charged. The dealership has 4 other escapes with the same problem. Avoid this car at all costs.

Company car honesty

The car is very twitchy. The ride is nice, but the transmission jumps around a lot and the car doesn't track well and needs constant correcting. Numerous recalls. Brakes replaced and still squeal horribly. Have to do a full reset of sync weekly to get touchscreen to work. More issues, as well.

My wife and I love this car. It handles well, parks easily, rides comfortably and feels good on the road.

This has been a wonderful car for us.. Living in Wyoming thru this LONG winter we got our worst mileage of 34.9 driving at 5 degrees F in snowy conditions in February.. all of our other long trips have been over 44 mpg .. last 629 mile on a tank at 47.8 from Richfield Utah home .. at freeway speeds and weather in the 30s.. Comfortable.. easy graphics, fine voice command GPS and just plain fun to drive.. Have not tried an overnite camp someplace but will nice back seat room and comfort for others as well.. UPDATE: Purchased this car new in July of 21.. since then we have done much Wyoming off road driving (carefully) and taken 3 long road trips north and south.. this is the best riding and mileage vehicle out there in its class.. Only down to 35 mpg once ( A trip to Gillette wy at 23 below in sleety road conditions) all other mileage checks (absolutely done every tankful ) have been over 43mpg.. Last 4 tanks all over 630 miles traveled per tank have been between 45-47 mpg.. we do drive carefully but always around the speed limit... what a wonderful vehicle and exceeds our friends with the Toyota Rav 4 mileage by 10 mpg normally.... a 5 star investment for anyone

This is my fifth Escape. I have loved all of them for their reliability, good looks, and low maintenance. My new one is a 2021 Escape Titanium Hybrid. I’ll admit to being a little scared of all the bells and whistles, but it’s a great drive and is so beautiful! Highly recommend.
